"Hmmm, so champion Abdul is dead."
"Yes, my queen. He is now one with the afterlife." The duke utters with a respectful bow.
"That's truly a shame; his performance was positively top-notch. It almost made me regret banishing him from our tribe."
"No, your decision was indeed valid, lady Rubaru. I don't believe there's any reason for you to go back on your previous demand."
"Yes, Scudwell, thank you for your reassurance. That is why I keep you around, don't I?"
"Many thanks, ma'am, I live by your code now that Master Kohga is no more.
"The two warriors that defeated him, Link and Riju, was it?"
"Yes, miss Rubaru, and by the looks of things, they were practically unstoppable. They even defeated our entire fleet of stalfos."
"Interesting, very interesting. I am quite curious to meet these determined heroes. However, it seems these two will only get in the way of our latest yiga operation—us storming the gates of Hyrule castle, that is. They'll have to be taken out before they can do any harm to my plan. And I know just the inventor to call."
Meanwhile,
"Link, you take right, I'll take left."
Riju scrambles in the opposite direction, pushing life over limb.
You slide past the silky ice topped slopes, diving face-first into a valley of snow. The intimidating helicopter guardian continues its propulsion homing in on you as unsuspecting cannon fodder. It charges a deadly burst laser before unleashing its wrath. A massive missile also pops out from the ancient guardian's frame.
"Now!" Riju screams, letting loose a large snowball from the right side.
The sizable snow sphere barrels down the cliff, picking up speed and flying into the cascading crystal night sky. The large snow spheroid crashes into the orbiting guardian. The chopper goes down, tumbling into an ever-expanding ravine.
Riju crosses over the rough, freezing pastures to reunite with you.
"Woah, I'm glad you're okay. That was almost too close for comfort," Riju exclaims, still noticeably flustered.
"Yeah, you guys were pretty fast for not having wings."
"Tobias! Where have you been? Your parents and I have been worried sick about you."
"You guys need to take a chill pill. I'm perfectly fine with all things considered."
"With all things considered! More like we were just in hot pursuit of a flying death machine, and you could've been easily blown to smithereens.
"Calm down, calm down. If you don't lower your voice, you might cause an avalanche. Look, I'm sorry for straying away from the pack. I know that was stupid of me, but I couldn't help it. The northern lights look so beautiful that I know I just had to see them at this time of year."
"Well, I appreciate your apology, but you still should've been more careful. Who knows what frivolous dangers await you out on the ice?"
"I have wings, remember. The ice can't do much to me."
"Don't get cocky with me, Mister. As far as I'm concerned, you're still on thin ice with your family and me."
"Okay, okay, I get it. You guys are still angry at me for deviating from the beaten path to see the Northern glories. Don't you worry, I'll find some way to make it up to you."
"Oh Toby, I don't care about you making it up to us. I just want you to be more careful. Jeez, I think I understand how his parents feel. It's like all their worrying has transferred to me. Let's get you home before I burst a blood vessel."
"Aw, back to mom and pop. You're no fun, Riju."
"Yep, come on. I'm sure they'll be happy to see you."
Riju hurries Tobias along, hoping to save herself from the hardships of being a parent.
Bring Tobias Home - Complete *
Unbeknownst to the group, an inventor wrapped in shadows emerges from the sunken wreckage. He wipes off the black smudges on his clothes in an attempt to cleanse his body.
"Welp, that didn't go so well. I got to give 'em credit. It looks like those little runts were surprisingly tactical. So much for my fancy maneuvering; those pesky insects outran every one of my mechanical advances. Hmph, and that girl. Riju, she's quite cunning. I'll be keeping a close eye on her to see what else she has to offer. She might be just what I need to complete my mission."
