"Tobias, listen to me, you are not allowed up that mountain."

"But why, mom? Someone has to stop those wicked fiends."

"Because it's far too dangerous, you're still just a kid. Let the adults handle this; I'm sure we'll conjure up a plan in no time."

"Oh, Link and Riju. Where are you guys?"

You and Riju embark on your adventure up the mountainside. The two of you slide across deadly cliffs and rocky ledges, working your way deeper into the ever-growing tundra. Once you reach the top of the snow-capped hills, you pause to catch your breath. There was still a long journey that awaited you, not to mention you facing off against Professor Higgins and his formidable forces.

The four champions assist you on your perilous quest. Mipha supplies you with more hearts and resources for your arduous crusade, Daruk prevents large falling boulders from crushing you, Revali gracefully propels you up the side of the mountain, and Urbosa helps you take on groups of monstrous foes.

You approach the mad scientist's lab with a level of caution, unaware of the troublesome dangers that awaited you inside. As soon as you enter the steel entryway, a large cage entangles you in its grasp. You fling Riju forward, hoping to save her from the clutches of the trap.

Unfortunately, Professor Higgins emerges from the shadows, quick to recapture Riju.

The mad doctor unleashes his new invention, which mimics a giant magnet. The large beacon snags the Master Sword and Lightning Bow from off your person.

"Hello, it's good to see you two again. It seems you both have fallen right into my trap. Luring you here was a snap. Wait till Rubaru hears the news."

"Professor Higgins! What despicable plot are you up to now? Nuclear warfare, unnatural body realignment, prepping your airship for abnormally high altitudes?" Riju entertains, attempting to break free from the varmint's grasp.

"Try mind control."

"Mind control?"

"Yes, and you'll be my first test subject."

"Mind control, I was unaware of the production of this invention, father," Sophia interjects.

"Many years ago, I lost someone important to me. Her name was Sophia. She was my daughter. Ever since those rotten cowards in Frostborn took her away from me, I couldn't stop grieving her death. I even built a robot to capture her likeness. But alas, no one could replace my sweet dear Sophia. Until now, that is."

"What's that supposed to mean?"

"You'll see soon enough. As soon as my mind control ray touches you, you'll become my new daughter."

"New daughter?! You can't be serious."

"Father."

You struggle to break free from your cloth trap, continually pulling and tugging. You knew you couldn't let that mind control beam touch Riju, but the rope that constricted your wrists proved otherwise.

"The laser has almost completed charging. Pretty soon, I'll have a new daughter to call my own."

"Link, you have to stop him. We can't let him go through with this," Riju shouts.

Argh... that BASTARD. You wanted to punch him with every fiber of your being.

Suddenly, a heroic bird comes to your rescue. Tobias flies through the lab window and lifts the rope mesh off you. He also grabs your abandoned weapons on the return trip, reuniting you with your treasured sword.

"You're too late. My deadly contraption is ready."

The deranged doctor fires up the series of gizmos, eager to see his vile gadget in action. He throws Riju in front of the machine and aims the device in her direction.

You're too far away to save her. It almost seems as if there's no hope left. Riju would be mind controlled and forget all her memories of you. All the time you spent together, all the people you've encountered. It would all vanish within the blink of an eye.

Riju releases one last cry before being consumed by the blast.

"LIIINNNKKK."

A cloud of smoke engulfs the room. When the dust settles, you're finally able to see what happened.

Sophia stands in front of Riju, blocking the shot.

The charged laser hits one of the support beams, knocking down a significant amount of rubble. The room begins to collapse, and walls swiftly fold in on themselves.

"Sophia! What are you doing? You're messing up my plans."

"No, father, you're wrong! You don't need a new daughter. You have me!"

"What?"

"I've wanted to be your real daughter for so long, not just some cheap knock off. I want to go for a hike, go fishing, and experience the outdoors together. I wanna do all the things fathers and daughters are supposed to do together."

"But you're still a machine. You can never replace my little girl."

"Maybe I can't, but I can be better than her. I can go above and beyond when it comes to caring for you."

"Oh, Sophia. I never knew you felt this way. I thought you just wanted to be my lab assistant.

"It's true, father, I want to be more than just a machine. I want to be more than just a cluster of parts. I want to be more than just a series of ones and zeros. I want to be your daughter."

"S... sophia," The mad scientist weeps.

"C... come over here and give your father a hug."

"I thought you didn't want me to call you father."

"Anything for my new little girl."

"And you, you dirty scoundrels better get out of here before I change my mind," The newly appointed father declares.

"Yes, sir!" Riju proclaims, rushing out of the facility.

You, Riju, and Tobias all race out of the mad scientist's humble abode, quick to reemerge into society. The granite castle crumbles behind you once the three of you leave the premises.

"Are they okay? I hope they're not hurt."

"It's okay; I saw them escape at the last minute. Like father like daughter, huh," Tobias remarks.

"What was he saying about that lady, Rubaru? I think I would like to have a well-informed chat with her, especially if she's the one that's put a huge target on our back."

"Ooooh, I'd like to see a good catfight."

Riju blushes and crosses her arms, "I think it's past your bedtime, Mister; I think it's time we get you home to tuck you in."

"Aw, Riju, where's your sense of adventure? Come on; we just defeated an evil scientist. I think a victory romp is in order."

"Yeah, and that was very dangerous of you, young man. Just be glad I didn't burst a blood vessel."

"Think about it. If I never saved Link, you two never would've made it out in time," Tobias bargains.

He had a point. If he didn't help you out of that trap, who knows what state you'd be in.

You walk over to Tobias and give him a firm pat on the head.

"Oh, okay," Riju concedes, imparting Tobias with a big hug.

"Ew, gross, get off of me ya weirdo," Tobias states fleeing the scene.

You and Riju can't help but release a slight chuckle from Tobias's sheepishness. However, it isn't long before Riju's somewhat jovial look soon fades into a small lifeless frown.

Riju looks to you for comfort as she stares out on the mountain top.

"I've never had a father figure..."

"That's how most Gerudo women are, and I've come to accept that. But even then, I'm still kinda jealous. Just imagining going for a hike, going fishing, and experiencing the outdoors together, it all sounds so..."

"Woah, haha, it looks like I'm getting ahead of myself there. You shouldn't have to hear about that. I'm just rambling about random nonsense again, haha."

"Finish what you were going to say," You speak.

"What?"

"Look, I almost lost you back there. So again, finish what you were going to say," You answer in a booming voice.

"I uh... I'm jealous, okay. And when Professor Higgins said he wanted a daughter... well, I kind of wanted to be his daughter."
