Day 1 of Sylvix Week 2021. Touch Starved
Kind of? I guess. Lack thereof, more like, or at least mostly. There's a lot of touching.
Enjoy, and let me know what you think!
Day 1. Touch for touch
Felix has always gotten lots of hugs as a child. His father hugs him every night before bedtime, and every time he has to go somewhere, and every time he comes back home. His mother gives him hugs every day, sometimes along with a kiss to his cheek or forehead. Even Glenn hugs him sometimes, not as often as mother, but if Felix goes to him and asks for a hug, he gets one. Even Dima and Ingrid, who are his best friends, give him hugs and hold hands and stuff. It's great!
When Felix is five, he meets Sylvain for the first time, and decides pretty much on the spot that this red-haired kid is going to be his friend. So, after the introductions he runs up to him and gives him a big hug, because everyone likes hugs, right?
Except apparently Sylvain, who freezes in place, completely tensed up and even shaking a bit. Felix quickly lets go, wondering if he did something wrong.
Later on, when he asks Glenn about it, his brother tells him Sylvain probably hasn't been hugged before, and was most likely just surprised and didn't know how to respond.
That's when young Felix decides he's going to give Sylvain all the hugs, because no one should live with no hugs.
***Years go by...***
Years later, thing have changed quite a bit. Mother is long gone, Glenn is dead, he and his father have a very... strained relationship, to put it mildly, he and Ingrid have more or less drifted apart since the tragedy, and, well, the less he thinks about Dimitri, the better.
As he has gotten older, Felix also has backed off from initiating physical contact with people. He slips away when his father tries to pat him on the shoulder, or when Ingrid tries to give him some kind of awkward hug when they see each other at Garreg Mach. Pretty much the only exception is Sylvain.
Sylvain, who has now gotten far more relaxed with his touches, being the one who initiates it almost every time now, whether it's an arm around Felix' shoulders, or hooking their arms together when they walk, or sitting so close at dinner they're practically plastered together from shoulder to knee. If it was anyone else, he would be annoyed. With Sylvain, it's expected, it's comfortable, and it's almost welcome.
Whenever they sleep together, Sylvain has a tendency to either grab Felix and cuddle him, curling around him and not letting him go. And sometimes, he grabs Felix and pulls him to lie on top of Sylvain, like he's using him like a blanket of some kind. Sylvain is warm and solid, yet also soft at the same time.
"What are you doing?" Felix asks the first time Sylvain does it, though not protesting as he tucks his head under the redhead's chin, making himself comfortable.
"Getting comfortable," is the simple reply he gets. "I love having you here, with me." He wraps his arms around Felix, resting his hands on his upper back, before angling his head just enough to press a kiss to Felix's forehead. "I love you."
"I love you too," Felix mutters into Sylvain's neck, face flushed as he still needs some getting used to the causal way Sylvain says that to him.
Felix doesn't have as many people giving him hugs now, and sometimes he almost misses it. But the ones he gets from Sylvain are more than enough.
