By popular vote, you guys wanted the Fun Facts! This is a little snippet of the more humour filled moments of our characters. I'm sure it will be entertaining; If not, well too bad.

There also seems to be a lot of worry about me not continuing these stories. I want to put all that to rest right now. I will CONTINUE these random stories as long as ideas come to mind and so far I have plenty to be worked on. I usually put one up a month on average, depending if I have another story in the works, they might be delayed or moved up. But I promise not to give these up anytime soon. OK PEOPLE!

I'm also so grateful to you guys who've reviewed and let me know the feedback. It's been mixed with good and bad views. I take it all in pride! And a little surprised lots of you want more possessive Fleur in these stories. Well I'll see what I can do with the ideas I have. If not I'll ask for some more plotlines from you guys and shove as much into it as I can. :D

But for the one out there who asked (You know who you are) I don't have the confidence to write that just yet. BUT I am not removing it from future plans. Patience with me. I'm still getting used to writing smut as it is.

The line breaks generally indicate a flashback moment for Hermione to the previous year. I'm sure it will be obvious but just for you guys who wont get it right away, I hope this helps.

Enjoy!

Fun Facts: Veela 101

Hermione was humming away as she smothered her lovely tanned bread with jam, oblivious to the world around her. Not that there was much going on in said world. It was the first day of the Christmas holidays for their fifth year at Hogwarts School and the holidays brought about the fun of seeing family, friends and making memories that stayed with them for years to come. Of course Hermione was even more excited for the holidays because it involved seeing her romantic French girlfriend Fleur Delacour and her family. Thanks to a well-made deal with her parents the Gryffindor girl got a few extra days after the special day to stay in France until school started up again. But that wasn't the only news her girl sent in the last letter.

As she was sipping her tea, Hermione caught the first glimpse of life and not surprisingly it was that of Ginny Weasley and Neville Longbottom. The two took their seats and began to pile on their plates. The smile she sent their way had the redhead rolling her eyes.

"Yes, Hermione we should've listened to you and done it all last night. But we were busy…"

"Of course, Ginny. At least you bet the boys down. Not that it's really surprising. No offense Neville" Hermione replied.

"None taken. When I left they were still trying to find everything in that mess. I hope they make it down for breakfast, Ron will be crabby for the train ride if he doesn't eat" the girls nodded their heads in knowing past experience.

"What are we nodding for again?" the delicate voice of one Luna Lovegood who joined the Lions at their table regularly enough it wasn't thought about. Collectively the others gave their greetings through mouthfuls.

"We're talking about the boys and the likelihood of them getting here before breakfast is over" Ginny stated before taking another bite of her eggs and bacon. Luna seemed to agree with the idea but her pleasant way of handling everything didn't confirm nor deny. Hermione just went back to enjoying her toast and tea.

"Does it still count if they run into the Hall like that?" Luna pointed to her left and eyes went up to see the two out of breath Gryffindor boys slow down to a walk the rest of the way down the table. Hermione tried to keep her smug smile from her face for a long time but their behaviour had her nearly cracking, hiding behind her tea was her only option and even that didn't completely work.

"Shut up Mione" Harry spoke as he sat down opposite her.

"I didn't say anything" she looked at him with innocence to which he ignored blatantly. Ron started stuffing his face with food, plate piled high with everything; it made Hermione sigh and groan all at once. The others just ignored the redhead's bad eating habits and lack of manners.

"You didn't need to; it was written all over your face. Besides we didn't know what to pack. We've never been in this situation before. I mean what are we meant to bring?" Harry all but shrugged in his confusion. Ron nodded his head rigorously.

"An' wha we meant to do?" frowns were sent at him.

"Don't talk with your mouth full Ronald"

"Sorry"

"You're not meant to bring anything. It's just dinner" Hermione replied casually like it was the simplest thing in the world; which to her it was.

"Yeah with the Delacour's!" Harry stated.

"A family of very important and influential wizards" Luna spoke up politely unlike the other occupants of the table.

"At their mansion!" Ginny put her two cents in.

"Not to mention they are Veela's…" Neville whispered softly without lifting his head from staring at his plate; almost hesitant to admitting it.

"If anything, any of you have stated rather factually, affects anything about the coming day, I've yet to hear it" Hermione pushed away her clean plate before pouring herself a glass of pumpkin juice. Harry swallowed before speaking again.

"Look, we know that this is important to you Hermione but we're not really sure what to expect"

"You think it would be any different from Christmas dinners you've spent with these two Weasley's or at home? No wait, forget that last thought" Hermione replied as she gestured to the two siblings at the table while looking to the green eyed boy.

"That's not the point Hermione!" Ron actually talked without his mouth full for once. "They are Veela! How are we meant to act with them around? They could use their weird magic on us and we'll be defenceless against it and…" the redhead stopped his blabbering speech when he saw three pairs of eyes glaring at him. Well more like two and Luna just looking at him oddly.

"Are you asking because you are scared of having another experience of influential behaviour after being around said 'Beings'…?" Hermione started.

"Or because you are acting like a self-absorbed racial sexist and being rather insensitive to their feelings?" Ginny finished as the two girls leaning in to intimidate rather effectively as the boy leant away, avoiding eye contact.

"He does have a point" Neville said behind his drink.

"Not you too Neville. Please?" Hermione pleaded but the boy was shaking his head.

"No no; I mean like in what he said before that. How are we meant to behave? Do Veela have any traditional things?" Harry agreed with his fellow housemate.

"And even if they don't, then what about French customs?" he looked to Ron and Luna hoping to find some understanding "We're going to be totally out of place there no matter what. Give us some slack for being uneasy about going"

"Alright, alright. I get it. You guys are unprepared to have Christmas dinner at Fleur's because you don't know about Veela's or French traditions. I understand, its ok" Hermione chuckled lightly as she just gave up. She didn't see Luna perk up at an idea.

"Why don't you tell us then, Hermione? You've spent time with Fleur, you know a lot of things about Veela. Don't you?" the blonde smiled softly as all eyes shifted to the brunette at the end of the group. Ginny raised her brows.

"She does have a point. You've read every book"

"There weren't many books…" Hermione stated begrudgingly.

"But you spent time with them last year" Harry interrupted pointedly.

"Again there wasn't much they talked about besides the Tournament" again she started before someone else decided to talk over her.

"You're going out with Fleur! Come on Hermione! Help us!"

"ALRIGHT!" there was silence along with a few odd looks from the strays seated about the Hall.

Hermione sighed to herself quietly after she finished her last cup of calming tea. Breakfast was over for her and she no longer had a distraction from the conversation her friends obviously needed to survive the coming holiday. She lifted her chocolate brown eyes before starting.

"I can't and won't spill everything because I don't know it…yet. Yes Fleur has confided in me some interesting things about Veela's and most of it in private so I hope you all will respect that; and don't go off in some weird ideas either; accusing them of anything. I mean you Ronald" A flabbergast redheaded boy looked ready to dispute her claim when his best mate beside him just hit his arm in order of silence. He listened.

"How about we start with the important questions? Who's going to be at the dinner?" Harry asked politely.

"If it's just a family dinner then you can expect Fleur, Gabrielle and their parents; Apolline and Pierre. But only call them that if they say you can, otherwise its Sir and Madam. 'Formal stuff' is how Fleur described it" Hermione stated as she remembered the day she'd first asked her girlfriend about her family. It turned out to be a long lunchtime conversation.

"Ok and if it's not a 'family' dinner?" Ginny prodded. The older Gryffindor girl just shrugged.

"Then you can expect a houseful of egotistical openly affectionate proud Veela. It would be a formal occasion but the entire clan will strut through the doors in numbers. Poor Ron had trouble handling a class of them, imagine what would happen with triple that?" muffled laughs went round at the boy's expense who just grumbled while his ears matched his hair.

"It's their thrall! I couldn't help it ok!" Ron spluttered still blushing hotly.

"Fact One about Veela Ronald: Not all Veela can control that 'thrall'. Its part magic, part instinct" Hermione stated with her manor of factual input. Eyes turned to her with surprise.

"It is?" Harry replied with a tilt of his head.

"Completely. The most accurate of books pertaining to Veela say its pheromones the women release in reflex to their surroundings. That is only half true. Veela are Beings with complex magical cores because their linage or origin comes from two difference species; so wizards can only guess what they don't know about Veela…"

"We don't want the history lesson here Hermione" Ginny stated with an eye-roll "Just give us the easy to understand version. Please?" The brunette just glared before huffing.

"Fine, you want the easy way. Here it is. Fact one! Only full blooded Veela can control their thralls because it is half pheromone and half magic. Most cases it is harmless and they do it for fun. Messing with people's heads is like a game to them"

"That doesn't sound very comfortable" Neville said with unease from her right.

"You'd have to ask Ron that one. I'm immune" Hermione stated with slight smugness.

"What?! How is that fair?"

"Being a Veela's mate comes with some perks, ae Hermione?" Ginny snickered at her brother's face when the statement was correctly acknowledged.

"I don't understand what they're doing…are they trying to get attention or…belay it?" Hermione was seated comfortably in the library with a big book across her lap while she observed a small knit group of blue uniformed ladies weave their magic on the unsuspecting Hogwarts students around them. Closely seated beside her was the every watchful Fleur who was enjoying twirling strands of wavy hair through her fingertips. No matter the number of times the Gryffindor told her to stop it, the blonde ignored the annoyance filled words and did to her hearts content. A smile always adorning her face.

"Zey are doing it because zey can. It is a 'abit we 'ave 'Ermione" Fleur replied without looking away from her fascination. Hermione just grumbled.

"That doesn't answer the question Fleur. And would you stop that already. It's just getting more tangled" Fleur relented and tucked the strands behind an ear before letting her fingers fall away. Her hand then rooted itself behind the girl so the French witch would lean in closer to her neck.
"Zey are playing wiz zeir 'zrall'. All Veela do it" her words were just above a whisper while her eyes traced the pale neck just out of reach. Hermione was none the wiser as her attention was on a particular Beauxbatons girls sending butterflies to mess with a Hufflepuff boy's head. She just frowned.

"But why? What does it do exactly? Fleur!"

"'Mmm? It is just using our magic for fun. Zere is no 'arm in it" a distracted reply came from the seventh year.

"You are messing with people's minds Fleur. I would say that is really harmful"

"We cannot actually control zem in any way. It is more like an influence of some'zing ra'zer satisfying to 'ave. See?" she nodded towards the boy who somehow shook his way out of the glamour effect and quickly left the library while the giggles of the Veela followed him.

"Have you ever used it against someone Fleur?"

"Oui, I 'ave. But it wasn't until I met you zat it really 'as become fun" the blonde grinned when brown eyes scrutinized her.

"You've used it on me?! How could you? I thought we were friends"

"We are ma cherie, I am just meaning zat my 'zrall' doesn't 'ave any effect on you" Fleur smiled as she gently poked the reddened cheek only to have it swatted away. Hermione silently brewing settled back to her book. Unfortunately her processing mind wouldn't allow her to drop the subject.

"Alright, tell me. Why won't it work on me?" Fleur had to carefully hide her gleeful smile while straightening herself in her seat; giving her newly brunette friend her full attention.

"Well we Veela 'ave "âme sœur"; soulmate's. It is believed zat one's eternal partner cannot feel ze 'zrall' but zey can, oh 'ow you say…'experience' it"

"And you think I am yours? You can't be serious Fleur" Hermione found it rather amusing but the expression on the blondes face was one of seriousness.

"I am serious. Let me prove it to you; we take special care of our loved ones. Veela are possessive creatures 'Ermione. And I refuse to let you go"

"I think I've read a little on Veela; they are Beings who have a monarchy system. I recall they believe in a single mating lifestyle where they will keep one partner for their lifetime. Aren't they also sexual Beings Hermione? Possessiveness was a trait the Selkies have so, if Veela are related, they would behave in a similar fashion. That would be fascinating to see" Luna's voice broke Hermione's concentration on the memory and she looked over to see the blonde's eyes clearly holding peaked interest. The boys looked a little uncomfortable as Ginny just face-planted the table in embarrassment for the other girl. A brow was raised from the know-it-all at the table.

"I…didn't know you wished to learn those things Luna. If you want I can direct you to a few books…I don't think you want to get into such a discussion with a Veela on the subject…" Hermione hesitantly replied while the heavy feeling of awkwardness flowed over the group. A cough came from Harry two seconds later hoping to change the topic of discussion quickly or they would get nowhere before it was time to leave.

"Let's go back to the simple stuff. Easy to remember?" Hermione snapped herself out of the blank look and nodded.

"Yeah alright. Well um…" brown eyes went upwards as they usually did when Hermione tried to remember something. It became a quick instinct through her studies and schoolwork. Something clicked when she saw the Hall ceiling. "Oh I know. Fact Two: Veela's hate snow"

"What?" Came the collective response.

"Nearly everything to do with the cold they despise. With a passion" Hermione nodded her head to confirm their surprise and unconvinced expressions. She held up a hand and counted off "Snow, temperatures, wind, rain, ice. They would hate winter itself if it didn't hold traditional meaning to their species but that's a complicated matter I rather not go into"

"Fleur, you can't stay in bed all day. It's the weekend and last night was amazing but I don't want to spend it talking to a pile of pillows" Hermione was standing in the doorway of the small room her girlfriend of three weeks occupied in the small carriage sitting on Hogwarts grounds. The seventh year student had spent the previous evening romancing Hermione with gifts before they attended the Yule Ball together. Dancing for hours along with sweet words whispered in her ear, Hermione went to bed that night with a big grin on her face. The unmoving pile of blankets in front of her the next morning made her sigh in frustration.

"I can and I will. Zis place is warm and quiet. Ei'zer join me in 'ere or leave" the muffled accent floated its way from the depths of fluff.

"What could possibly have the fearsome Triwizard Champion buried away in blankets?"

"Zey are not just soft blankets, zey are also goose fea'zer pillows zat are ra'zer comfortable. You would know zis if you agreed to stay ze night. But alas you did not ma amour" the brunette could hear the smugness over the rich accented bell like voice. If only Hermione could curse her.

"I will not answer that. Instead you're going to get up and keep your promise of a trip to Hogsmeade with me today"

"But it is cold!" The Gryffindor froze.

"You're making a fuss because it's cold?! What are you a child?! Get up" the burrow inhabitant seemed to only bury herself deeper.

"We do not like ze cold. If zey do not 'ave to go outside zen nei'zer do I"

"You can't be serious Fleur…" Hermione made her way round the bed to try and find where ever the blonde was hiding her face. Pulling a few pillows aside she found it. "No one really likes the cold. You think we'd stay outside all day even if we did?"

"Veela's 'ave a deep animosity for snow. We cannot be cold for too long or it effects our 'ealth" the poor whimper like voice that sounded made the younger girl smile gently.

"So you Veela girls don't like winter because you're scared of a the flu. You're changing my views of you every second Fleur Delacour" a single blue eye snapped open to glare at her.

"Don't test me 'Ermione"

"Or what? You're going to torment me with your 'thrall'? You already told me about how that doesn't work" the grin made the Veela descendant groan.

"Zen I will 'ave to torture in some o'zer way, but it is too cold to get out of 'ere" Hermione just giggled.

"I didn't know Veela's had such a thing against winter"

"Winter we do no despise. It 'olds ze very secrets to our mating rituals but our 'omeland does not 'ave any of zis falling ice!"

"Wait…mating rituals?" Hermione asked confused. There was a sparkle in the pair of eyes peaking from the blankets.

"Ah oui. You will learn all about zose soon enough"

Looks passed between the Gryffindor table. Living in England where the weather was clouds and rain throughout the year, they never saw a snowy winter any different. But apparently to Veela, it was a big issue.

"Wait…You mean that was why they hated Hogwarts so much last year? Because it was cold?" Ron broke the stunned silence. The brunette nodded with a small smile.

"Indeed. All the girls who attended were Veela. Inside their carriage was at least ten times warmer than our own common room. They never wanted to leave it"

"And you would know that well huh, Hermione the sneaky one" Ginny snickered at the glare she got for the statement.

"It isn't sneaky if you are invited Ginny…"

"Of course not" the two remained in their silent battle of wills and eye contact. The boys just looked between them.

"So they'll be angry all through the dinner?" Brown eyes finally relented the war to focus on Neville's face. She shook her head.

"No, it's more like they'll have the place rather warm and no outdoor activities planned"

"I think they'll just be upset for not going south for the winter" Harry couldn't contain his snickers even with his hand slapped across his mouth. Hermione tried to glare at him for the witty insult but couldn't quite bring herself fully into it. The wizard raised group members just looked at them in confusion.

"Honestly Harry. You making bird jokes, really doesn't help me try to explain" Ginny was the first to catch on and she didn't bother to contain her giggles.

"I was just making a minor observation" the famous wizard stated "They are bird-like Beings after all right?"

"Not completely but in a way…"

"So they are like birds? Or more like Fawkes?" Ginny inquired.

"Well no but…the best way to see them is like harpies from Greek Mythology" Hermione was getting a little unsettled by the way she was getting looked at.

"If they are anything like their cousins they must lose all their feathers during spring" Luna's voice came with an uncanny confidence despite little knowledge on the actual subject.

"I'm not sure when exactly they lose them but it does happen"

"Wouldn't that give them vanity issues?" Ron questioned

"They could. I mean last year they were the image of perfection almost all the time" Ginny replied.

"Yeah but I mean, if they're like anything we studied then they should, I don't know 'preen' or something?" Neville gave some input which Harry seemed to agree to. Hermione was just going back and forth looking at each of her friends with shock and horror they went further and further off track with their own assumptions and ideas. She was getting very upset.

"Enough!" Everyone looked at her. "Seriously, if you lot wanted to go off into stupid conversations about the creature yourselves why did you bother asking me in the first place? I put a lot of time into learning everything I could about Fleur and her family and all the respect you guys can give is 'Are they like birds'? Really?"

"Come off it Hermione"

"No you come off it Ronald. They are real people, real Beings. Not some flock animal shown in zoos. Either show them respect or don't bother showing up on Christmas Eve" the angered brunette looked away with a deep frown and a heavy feeling of disgust for those she considered her friends. Her aura seemed to weight down on the company rightfully.

"We're sorry Hermione…" Harry began in a even voice, his obvious guilt written clean across his face.

"We didn't mean it. Any of it. I guess we did get ahead of ourselves a little…" Ginny said before a look from Neville had her rolling her eyes "…alright a lot. Please forgive us"

"Sorry Hermione" Neville was the one the girl looked up to when he spoke. His voice and sorrow filled expression had her sighing the anger away. Pushing her plate away she turned slightly in her seat to look at each and every pair of eyes.

"I will tell you a few more things, on the condition you don't do that again. Deal?" heads nodded quickly. Hermione got comfortable before speaking. "Fact Three: Veela do malt once every year. And before any of you make some snarky comment, it is a really sensitive time for them so don't ever bring it up. And yes they do preen but again not something to talk about"

"So it is like Luna said?" Ginny looked to the girl with an impressed expression. Luna just looked continually delighted.

"I would guess it's about spring time…if memory serves right…" Hermione lost herself back to the previous year.

"No Fleur, I told you. No making out until we get this homework done. You promised" the Gryffindor girl wasn't making any real effort to dislodge the seventh year Beauxbatons girl from atop her. The two had hid themselves away in Fleur's room in the carriage on a Saturday afternoon planning to finish up work needed for the coming week; or that was Hermione's plan. Fleur had other ideas.

"I did. I 'ave finished all my work as I said, so in exchange I get my kisses now, oui?" the blonde haired Veela pinned the annoying hands down to swoop in landing a toe curling kiss to her love. Hermione couldn't help but moan at the delicious feeling and pressure her girlfriend was giving her with those soft pink lips.

"But I haven't so your logic isn't sound. Please Fleur, I need to finish that essay for History of Magic…" the fourth year's voice crawled off into a groan almost instantly as Fleur attacked her neck in light pecks and grazing teeth bites. The French vixen was going to be the death of her.

"I 'ave you on my bed ready to moan ma name 'Ermione. Why should I stop now ma amour? Because of some silly paper? 'mmm?" she returned right back to the attentions on the girl's neck after delivering her sultry accented voice to reddening ears. Hermione almost gave herself into defeat. Almost.

"If you let me finish it before dinner…I'll…stay the night" that got the blonde's attention rather quickly. It was a weekend with no events, occasion or outside influence to disturb the two. The wheels were turning inside the Veela's mind.

"You will stay…ze whole night…in zis bed…wiz me?" she moved to hover her face above that of the flustered Gryffindor; their noses barely touched.

"Yes" Hermione gasped out in a breathless whisper "If I can finish my work first and only then Fleur. Deal?"

"Oui, we 'ave a deal. But can I 'ave one more kiss before zat? S'il vous plait?" the two grinned at the obvious need the blonde had no shame in showing off.

"I live to please you my Veela…" Hermione lifted her head to capture the older girl in a kiss; Fleur couldn't hold back her deep groan after hearing those words spill from her lover's mouth. She forgot all about holding the girl down to slide her hands under the grey uniform top and the other on a warm thigh. The brunette's response was to thread fingers into blonde strands and tug lightly. The noises increased tenfold. Before reconsidering her original plan the brunette's finger clipped something causing a moment of confusion and out of the mind-blowing lip-lock.

"Fleur…is this…a feather?" Sure enough, clutched between index and thumb was a single, cobalt feather. Fleur's face was an epitome of expressionless and she quickly removed herself from her love; darkening blue eyes never leaving the thing.

"Oui. It appears to be" her voice was husky and Hermione watched as the girl narrowed her eyes like the single feather had caused her great anger.

"You want to tell me why it was in your hair?" Hermione gave the older girl a look but before she could blink, the blonde snapped forward to grasp the plume and in a flash it was disintegrated into dust. The clear ball of flame still burning in her palm as Fleur released a breath of almost relief. The brunette shifted back slightly at the sight.

"Zis never 'appened. Am I clear ma amour?"

"Ah…yeah sure…" the girl gave her hesitant answer while still very much confused at what just happened.

"Earth to Hermione? You still with us?" Ginny was waving her hand in front of unfocused brown eyes. The girl snapped out of her daydream.

"What? Yeah I'm still here. Memory just got the better of me…"

"I'm sure it did"

"Shut it Ginny. The point is, do not mention malting. Just don't"

"OK we will not mention that. Is it safe to mention…their looks?" Harry asked with a little hesitant look to Ginny subtly. She didn't bother to react.

"Yes. That is a good idea. Give them compliments but don't go any further. Fleur was very clear on the inclinations such things would imply. They could misunderstand your…meanings" the blank looks around the table gave Hermione the answer. Instead of pushing the issue she just moved on.

"Alright, Fun Fact number four: Veela do not eat poultry"

"Seriously?"

"Yes Ron"

"Alright, sorry" the redhead held up his hands in surrender.

"They don't eat anything like duck or pheasant. I don't think they even eat chicken…except maybe Fleur. I think she has before…"

"What? No chicken?! What are we going to eat there then?" Ron outburst. Hermione just rolled her eyes.

"There are other meats Ron"

"You're serious? No chicken or duck" Harry was intrigued but took it in stride. He didn't really care if there wasn't chicken at the dinner, he didn't eat it much anyway. He was more for bacon.

"They normally eat a lot of fish instead, such as bouillabaisse for one" the brunette smirked at the memory while her friends either blushed or snickered in Ginny's case.

"Is it like a dietary thing or?" Neville inquired rather curiously. He had a gleam in his eye and was getting rather into the interesting ways of these Veela.

"Um that I'm not too sure about it. Sorry Neville. I mean they don't eat it mainly for traditional purposes but…I have seen Fleur eat chicken, once. She seemed to like it"

"So we won't be having chicken, we can't mention feathers, snow, go too far into their looks, ask them anything about their species and be constantly prepared for when they use their thrall?" Ron ratted off facts like a list.

"I think you have it down Ron. You'll be fine" Harry chuckled from his best friend's side.

"Shut up Harry"

The two boys were caught up in their mild offensive dispute they didn't notice the others paying more attention to Hermione.

"Is there anything else we should be wary of?" Ginny was twirling her goblet around in thought over her own question.

"Yes, especially you Ginny"

"What?! Me?!" blue eyes jumped from the liquid to her best friend so quickly she nearly spilled her drink.

"Don't worry, it's nothing serious just a little warning if you will. I'm not exactly sure because I've never talked to Fleur about it but they may find your hair rather intriguing"

"My…hair? Are you serious?" Ginny asked unconvinced. Hermione nodded her head before speaking.

"Fact Four: Veela have a particular…I think the best way plainly say it is obsession with hair"

"Oh that is something. I wonder why they do that" Luna perked up as she fingered her own locks mindlessly. Neville smiled softly.

"Maybe you can ask them Luna"

"I think I will. Thank you Neville" the boy blushed slightly at the words while Hermione and Ginny hid their smirks behind well placed hands.

"I'm sure they would love to do into detail on their particular favoritism for shimmering locks" Hermione managed to say with a straight face, sending Ginny into hysterics and finally snapping her brother out of his annoyed feud state.

"Wait what are you talking about?"

"Nothing to worry over Ron" Hermione looked at her watch subtly before blinking repeatedly upon realising the time. "I think we better get the last of our things together for the train. We wouldn't want to be stuck here and miss Christmas"

The group collectively stood up from the table and headed to the Hall's entrance at an even walk. Harry and Ron ended up taking the lead with Neville standing over their shoulders with his height; the girls were happy to take up the rear of the group and immerse themselves into a quieter conversation. Eventually the wizards didn't even notice the two gender oriented groups had split apart by some distance of the trip up the stairs.

"Ok, Hermione spill. What are some of the more serious things about Veela you don't want the guys to know"

"I did give you guys some serious facts"

"Yeah about their eating habits and particular favour for summer. Come on Mione, just between us girls?" a shifty eye glance towards her fellow ladies couldn't hold back the small smirk playing across her face.

"Alright. There are a few tell-tale signs when it comes to Veela and knowing them will get you very far ahead in the game. What is the most common spoken about trait relating to Veela?"

"They are sexual Beings" Luna replied a heartbeat later with her usual straight face. Hermione nodded.

"Very sexual. But also very monogamous. If you become that one special someone you will be in for a long very eventful ride"

"Much like yourself?" Ginny grinned.

"Shut up Ginny"

"We don't want that so how do we avoid it?"

"Avoid unnecessary touching, eye contact and do not invite them somewhere alone unless you have to. They will take every chance they can to get 'closer' if you get my meaning"

"Oh that's rather easy" Luna smiled dreamily to herself as her mind wondered.

"Speak for yourself, I've got Veela wanting to touch my head every two seconds or more"

"T They love to talk about their hair so if you get the chance change the attention; Veela strands are unbelievably strong as Wand cores and the ladies take extra time to treat it with multiple lotions; but there is a side effect. They're really scared of losing even a single strand"

"Wait? They're afraid of losing their hair?" Ginny raised a brow.

"Majorly. Fleur told me she is more afraid of that happening then facing the dragon last year"

"Oh my, that would be rather sad if she did. She has such lovely hair" Hermione almost gave her Ravenclaw friend a suspicious glare.

"Besides the wonders of Hermione's girlfriend and her lovely locks can we please just confirm that Veela are rather ditsy creatures?" Ginny redirected quickly.

"I wouldn't repeat that if you want to live Ginny"

"Repeat what?" the trio were rudely interrupted by Ron. They had reached the Gryffindor door and it was only then that the boys waited patiently for their better half of the group. Seems they caught a little of the conversation.

"I was about to explain that insulting a Veela will get you the most painful, excruciating, and very long death you could ever imagine. Veela have a tendency to not use magic when it comes to solving their problems. They are the more 'hands' on type"

"As I'm sure Fleur has proven time and time again yes?" Ginny grinned at her fellow girl in red.

"Shut up Ginny"

"So we're going to dinner with some very dangerous Beings?" Harry questioned with a light tone, making an obvious joke.

"Actually they are rather high on the dangerous list; when you compare to Giants and Centaurs and other such creatures. Veela can be one if not the most dangerous Being's in the magical world and we openly associate with them far more than we should. Not only do they have magic we don't understand they can use it wordless and wandlessly since they begin school. Are you guys going first or shall I?" Hermione strolled on through the portrait hole like her words were weightless and she didn't care for them what-so-ever while the rest of the gang stood frozen; their minds contemplated what they just heard.

"WAIT! HERMIONE!"

"Do any of you feel better prepared for the dinner now?" Hermione was leaning against her piled luggage at the Hogsmeade station as the group waited together for the train to arrive; signalling their trip home for the holidays. Out of the lot of them the redheaded male was still trying to go through his mental list of do's and don't's she had so politely pointed out for them.

"Um, maybe?" Harry offered with a shrug and a half smile. Out of everyone he seemed the less concerned with the up-coming dinner; besides Luna but she was always high spirited.

"We know to compliment them like crazy, be wary of hair touching, respect their magical aura, be patient and open minded when it comes to their odd traditions…" Ginny started as she and Neville stood side by side counting off fingers.

"We also know not to go alone with them anywhere. Do not mention anything related to them malting, preening, snow, poultry…anything bird-like right?" he hesitantly asked but became more confident at Hermione's nod.

"Anything else outside those general facts you can blame on them being French"

"You mean the romantic nature, very attractive looks, charming voice and accent, inviting personality and openly affectionate traits?" Luna asked offhandedly. Hermione and the other just stared at her for a moment.

"…Yeah all of those…Sure" the brunette's voice was just above a whisper as she replied distractedly.

"Let's hope we just survive through the thing. I have enough trouble memorizing for exams but this?!" Ron started mumbling to himself while his best mate patted him on the back.

"And prey that it will only be with Fleur's family. Merlin only knows how that would end up" Hermione pulled her cloak around her tighter at the chill.

"'Ow what would end up ma amour?" a silk like accented voice came from over her shoulder; Hermione froze stiff; and not from the winter outdoors. Brown eyes snapped to blue as the fifth year came face to face with the love of her life. Fleur Delacour.

"Fleur…"

"Oui ma 'Ermione. 'Ow are you in zis cold wea'zer wi'zout a charm?" the French witch spoke with a smile despite her obvious disdain undertone. The others only learning of the small trait not half hour ago wouldn't have noticed her mannerisms if they didn't know what to look for. Hermione's lessons were worth something after all as they witnessed the older Veela witch wave her hand subtly, barely a glow came from the limb before Hermione visibly relaxed.

"Thanks for the warming charm Fleur but I could've done that myself"

"I know ma amour but I cannot 'elp but want to take care of you. You do not 'ate me for zat do you?"

"No I do not 'hate' you for caring. I'm more surprised you're here, I thought you were collecting us later in the week. There a sudden change of plans?" Hermione's words became quicker with every sentence and with no obvious signs from the blonde witch she could only let her mind wander for the possible answers.

"Oui, there 'as been a change of plans. But no'zing to worry over 'Ermione. I am simply 'ere to collect you" again her charming smile planted firmly on her features nearly had the boys swooning but a last minute cough from a glaring redheaded Gryffindor fourth year had them look away quickly.

"Now I know you are up to something. We talked about this Fleur, I am spending a few days with my parents before time with your family. I thought you got over it at the start of term" despite the unmatched charming demeanour and the magical like beauty the French woman possessed the brunette teen wasn't hesitant to blatantly show her annoyance and disappointment to her slightly older girlfriend.

"Alright, I missed you. I wanted to see you sooner and I couldn't wait. Now we are to get you 'ome so I can meet ze lovely parents of ma cherie" Hermione just rolled her eyes before turning back to her ever patient friends.

"Looks like I won't be taking the train with you. Sorry Ginny. I know you wanted to talk but…" her redheaded friend just waved her off.

"Don't worry about it. I'll send a letter tonight, I expect one back before Christmas. You hear me Granger?" the two shared a smile before they hugged goodbye. The boys followed shortly after and Luna was more than happy to just give a polite wave.

"Oh Fleur. I don't want to hear about you manipulating our girl just because your ways are 'unique'. We like her in one peace thanks" Ginny tried to hide her smirk at the blonde's obvious confusion before the sound of an approaching train caught there attention. The boys were gracious enough to take care of the luggage while Hermione's was magiced away into her pockets for her trip home.

"Should I be concerned at your friends 'pleasant' warnings ma amour?"

"No, she's just being cheeky because I may have shared a few tips about how to handle Veela's" a perfectly maintained eyebrow was raised in suspicion. "Nothing overly secretive Fleur. Promise"

"So you didn't tell zem about a Veela cycles wiz ze moon phases or 'ow we ravish our âme sœur whenever zey go zrough zeir heat cycles? Did you perhaps tell zem we are ra'zer vocal creatures in ze bedroom and love to boast our exploits for ze whole family to see? Non? Oh well I would've zought zey would find zat very interesting"

"I am not sharing anything relating to our love lives with them Fleur. That is just…" the brunette shivered slightly as she watched the group board the train one by one. The French Veela smirked to herself.

"Did you per'aps tell zem about our magic abilities. 'Ow we do not need our wands once we become of age hmm? Or our family can be traced back to ze times of Merlin 'imself giving us our immeasurable power and riches. Or did you feel ze need to tell zem zat Veela are only woman?"

"The last one I think the figured out for themselves and they don't need to know how rich and powerful you are. They are scared enough already" Hermione turned to slightly glare at her rather open girlfriend. Her blue eyes had become much darker and her voice deepened with a sultry undertone of want.

"I 'ope by ze end of our petit get toge'zer zey will know ze full extent of a Veela's capabilities, especially our stamina" Fleur leaned in close to breathe in a reddening ear of the shorter girl. "And I will be using you to prove it. Would you like zat ma cherie?"

"Can you just Apparate us home so I don't end up sick. Then neither of us will be enjoying these holidays"

There we go. Another chapter done and dusted. I have to say this one was difficult for me to write (as to why I'm not sure yet) but it's there and hopefully you guys like it. Please leave behind a review or a like or something. I really look forward to what you readers think about my work.

Update on my newest story. The chapters are in the works. Things are slowing down here so they will be easier and hopefully faster to write and I don't plan to stop just because of the holidays. But if I am late with anything you can blame it on the new game I got; ESO (which I am slowly getting addicted to) Forgive me.
