Carmilla Chapter 1
She knew she had made a mistake, the moment she stepped foot into the alley. Her years of living in Brockton Bay should have taught her that you never enter the side alleys after dark and yet she had done it anyway. All because she wanted to save a few minutes with a shortcut.
Now she was pinned on both sides by two dark figures which quickly turned out to be Members of the ABB. All four of them were proudly showing the gang colors, something she could see even in the darkness of the surrounding alley. The light from the street only barely lighting up the area.
"Look what we got here." The first one called out, in one of the most cliché things he could have said for this situation. He was pretty big for an Asian, at least 6 foot if not more, and build like someone that went to the gym on a daily basis.
"Look guys, can you just leave me alone?" Carmilla asked, knowing full well that it was probably a moot point. "You can have my money, okay? Just leave me my ID and cards. I don't want to have to request new ones." She tried to reason with them. She didn't have that much cash on her so it would be that big of a loss if they agreed.
"Oh, we sure are taking your money." A second guy called out much smaller and scrawnier than the first. He laughed creepily and added with a repulsive leer at her. "Amongst other things."
Now much more alarmed after it turned out it was not just a normal robbery, she started to really get worried. Carmilla looked both ways surreptitiously, trying to find a way out. The alley wasn't really wide enough for her to slip by on the side. She also didn't see anyone on the street behind them that she could call out to for help. Getting desperate, she sneaked her hand into her pocket for her knife.
She moved a bit to the side to hide what she was doing, while also to see if one of the goons would leave a bit of space open to escape.
"Yeah, this white bitch certainly was ready to just fall over." The first guy said now much closer to here. "Probably not going to take much to make her nice and compliant."
Almost simultaneously with one of the guys behind her, she started to move. Rushing at the guy to her left she flicked out her knife and made a stabbing motion at his belly to scare him back. She gravely misjudged the speed of the guy behind her however and while the one in front moved back to avoid the knife, the one behind her had grappled her before she could gain some speed. Desperately stabbing behind her, she tried to free herself, but he caught her wrist and wrenched the hand to the side.
Unbalanced by the guy that grappled her she was quickly thrown to the ground while the other goons dogpiled her.
Crying out for help only earned her a punch to her stomach which nearly made her vomit, while also shutting up any cries for help.
Gasping for breath she started to panic as she felt one of the guy's hands rip at her shirt, while another fumbled with her belt. The others held down her legs and her arms after they wrenched away her knife. Desperately struggling she tried to throw them off but was no match for the four men.
With a rip she felt her top being torn off and then she saw only darkness.

She woke back up to probably the best feeling ever. A warm tingling filled her whole body and brought with it a sensation that could only be described as orgasmic. It felt so good, that she didn't even realize that she had her mouth clamped shut on the neck of one of her assailants. All she knew was the warm liquid that ran down her throat and brought with it that wonderful feeling.
It wasn't until the liquid stopped flowing that she regained view of her surroundings. Her torn shirt lay to the side together with her knife and wallet, but what got her attention was the three guys that lay strewn around the ally as well as the one she had been biting just before. None of them were moving and she could see that the one closest to her had an empty look in his eyes. Simply staring up into the empty sky, the face contorted by fear.
With a shock, she checked on his pulse and while doing so noted four puncture wounds perfectly aligned for a bite mark. Her bitemark she realized, as she felt her canines with her tongue. They seemed bigger and sharper than before.
Not finding a pulse she was shocked by the realization, that her assailants were dead. Killed by her she realized, as she was the only one around. However, she didn't remember anything that happened after they tried to…, she had to force herself to go through with the thought, to rape her.
Much of her bad feeling and remorse vanished with that and was replaced with anger and concern. Anger at them for being such miserable pieces of shit. Concern about what she did and what would happen next.
While for a normal person it would probably be a simple case of self-defense, it was not at all normal for a baseline woman to black out and kill four grown men. That just screamed of parahuman and that would bring all sorts of problems with it. Growing up in the shadier parts of Brockton Bay had taught her not to trust in the goodwill of any government organization. So simply trusting the PRT not to fuck her over, was not something she will do.
Checking the alley, she saw that there was still no one there that could point to her, so she could just run off right?
But what if she used her powers again and someone would connect her by that to this crime. She would seriously damage her self-defense claim by not reporting the killings.
Not willing to go to prison because some assholes wanted to rape her, she would have to hide the evidence pointing to her. But vanishing four bodies would be impossible for a longer period of time. Simply moving them somewhere else, would be too much for her. But maybe she could hide them long enough for time and animals like rats to destroy any evidence indicating her involvement.
She glanced around the alley looking for somewhere to hide the bodies. Seeing a manhole cover that blocked the entrance to the storm drains she thanked her arguably selective luck. She should be able to move the bodies a few dozen meters even if it would take a while.
Moving to the manhole she searched for a way to open it. She noted the handgrip around the cover and grabbed one of them to see if she could even budge it or if it was stuck or rusted shut. She was shocked when the cover nearly flew off, as she put all her strength behind it. Only barely avoiding slamming the manhole into the alley wall next to her, she carefully settled it down next to the hole. Noting some dents in the grip where she had grabbed it.
Looking down into the storm drains she was surprised to note that she could see perfectly well, even to the sides where no light from the night sky would reach.
"Super strength and night vision, nice." She said softly while walking to the nearest corpse, while looking at both sides in the alley to make sure she was still alone. Seeing the strange puncture points from her bite she added. "As well as some weird bite power. Maybe venom?"
She grabbed the first corpse and was once again surprised at how light he felt. She felt barely any strain as she dragged him over to the hole, quickly followed by the other three.
Dropping them down into the storm drains, she followed suits soon after and was fascinated at the perfect view of the storm drain she had. Wondering why only her eyes got better and not her other senses as well, found her suddenly assailed by the most awful smell she had ever had the displeasure of smelling before. Hoping that her immediate hunch was correct she focused on shutting down the enhanced sense. She was relieved when her hunch proved correct, and the stench faded back to be barely noticeable.
"Selective super senses got it. Never again in sewers or storm drains. That was just awful" She gasped out with relief.
Deciding to get a move on she quickly grabbed two of the corpses and moved them away from the entry and around a bend. Noting the presence and tracks of dozens, if not hundreds of rats. Happy that her hunch was correct and being sure that any evidence of her involvement would be destroyed before the bodies would be found, she grabbed the other two and moved them as well.
Deciding to not let the situation go to waste she rummaged through their pockets and after finding their wallets, took out all the cash that they held. Slightly concerned that she wasn't more disturbed by the murders she had just committed, she quickly got back up into the alley and closed the manhole once more.
Deciding that she could worry at a later time, when she wasn't standing at a crime scene, she gathered up her knife and wallet. The shirt had ripped at the seams and was a total write-off. Not wanting to walk through the streets in nothing but her bra, she tried to drape the ripped shirt around her to make it look somewhat normal and just hoped that there wouldn't be a second mugging on her way home.
Making sure no one saw her leaving the alley, she quickly made her way to her flat, now keeping to only the well-lit streets. Multiple times she saw thought she saw someone, but that also might have just been her imagination.
She let out a huge sigh of relief when she had finally made it back to her flat, noting that her roommate was still out was all the better for her, seeing as she didn't have the nerve to explain the ripped shirt right now.
Quickly taking a shower, she washed off all the filth from the storm drains, before walking through the apartment to her room. She threw the stained and ripped clothes on a chair to the side and practically fell on her bed. Before she could remember to close the shutters and curtains on the window, she was already fast asleep.
