Stepping out of the Liminal Space that Michael occupied and into the bathroom of the Branson venue, Dollface looked around.
The bathroom was empty.
She sighed in relief.
She was alone.
Her stomach was hurting again.
It hurt real bad, like a belt of pain.
Dollface attributed it to nervousness or maybe she'd eaten dairy earlier in the day.
She stood at the mirror and her heart sank, seeing that her face was all blotchy and red from crying and teen acne.
Her shoulders slumped and all she could think of was 'What would Bowie do?'
Her eyes met the ones in the mirror as she thought of how Bowie had painted his face to become Ziggy Stardust, how KISS would plaster themselves with white and black to become something more than human.
No, they weren't humans.
They would become something greater.
She stuck out her tongue as far as it could go, thinking about how both groups had sold millions upon millions of copies to the masses, how they went on stage and became more than themselves.
She chewed her tongue as she began rummaging through the makeup boxes they'd brought with them. She selected all her usual items, then hesitated as she glanced at a set of lipsticks, still in their cases.
Dollface grabbed them and added them to the stack of makeup.
She finished doing most of her face, then hesitated once more, thinking about the lipsticks. They were gifts to the girls from Afton and Emily, a new kind of expensive lipstick that could be applied like lip gloss or glue. A kind that dried matte and wouldn't need to be blotted or layered to be bright.
Something that came in fantastical colors and could be used to draw on the face.
Liquid lipstick.
She gulped and selected her first color, neon blue and unscrewed the cap. She pulled out the wand, skeptical if it would be thick enough to actually cover anything. Conventional wisdom from using lip gloss said that this would be runny and thin, too delicate to be used as a face paint.
Dollface held a deep breath and made a long streak across her forehead and down her nose.
She was surprised that it worked so well.
A thin, blue lightning bolt.
She began thickening it out, making a proper shape on the side of her face. She grabbed a magenta and outlined on one side, wishing the applicator was thinner and sharp so she could get proper lines down. Grabbing a lime green, Dollface lined the other side.
She grinned.
On a stage under bright lights, no one would notice.
She fluffed black around her eye so that she didn't look cock-eyed and stuck out her tongue like Gene Simmons.
She sat back.
Not quite finished.
She glanced over to Izzy's package of Kiss Lashes and took out the cheap plastic tweezers, prepping a strip with glue. She studied herself as she waited for the lash to get tacky.
She stuck it onto her lash line, then prepped the next one.
After the struggles of getting them both on, Dollface looked in the mirror.
One eye blue and brown, the other one electric. Feeling cocky, she used the brightest shade of red in the liquid collection and sashayed out the door.
"Dollface!" Afton was waiting outside, scaring her out of her boots.
He steadied her by grabbing her shoulders, scaring her further.
"Dollface, Dollface, baby girl, I'm sorry for how I acted."
Dollface pulled away, calming herself. Michael bristled, and she could feel him hover over her in the back of her mind.
"Dollface, I just wanna say that I am sorry for how I acted. I've been so stressed lately, please forgive me."
Dollface stood silent, still scared.
"Dollface, I'll take you shopping sometime soon, just please," He gulped and took a knee, "I'm sorry. Please don't take that as me, I would never do that normally."
Michael was telling Dollface not to trust him.
She looked down at him, face blank, "I'm goin' back on stage."
Dollface turned and left him in the hall.
If he wanted to sit on his knees and beg, then she'd let him.
"Dollface! Wait, let me make this up for you, I was too harsh!"
Dollface turned, much to Michael's angry advice, and smiled, "Well, there is one thing Vinnie and I discussed back when he was still helping us…"
"What's with the getup?" Princess murmured to her as Izzy dismissed the audience participants called to the stage for a round of karaoke. Free, they returned to their seats as the curtains went down for Dollface's requested entrance.
Dollface shouldered her instrument, ready to get back to work.
"You'll see. I hope Vinnie can see this all th'way from. LA." Dollface mumbled back, then smiled widely as she put on her discarded headset, "We're doin' Vinnie's plan, just with different music!"
"Down, Down, that boogie down, down!"
"Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls," William's voice boomed over the speaker system, as the band members glanced confusedly at Dollface, "Fazbear Entertainment would like you to put your hands together for-"
Dollface squirmed herself into a pose, not happy with how her body was positioned.
"What th'Hell is goin' on?" Dolli Mae hissed over the robotic voice that opened Let's Groove Tonight by Earth Wind and Fire, "Wait, we can't do that! We haven't even rehearsed that!"
"Hush and get ready!" Dollface hissed to her bandmates as William continued to boom over the rising music.
"The one, the only!"
Someone in the audience, what sounded like a grown woman, started screaming excitedly. She was soon joined by more squealing fangirls as the curtain rose, spotlights zooming over the audience, excitement and anticipation building.
Dollface could see Izzy's mouth dry up as William announced wildly, "-The Fazbear Girls!"
"Let's Groove Tonight!"
They cheered, reaching for her and shouting the lyrics as the girls burst into song.
"Share the spice of life!"
Off to the side, Dollface was informed by Michael's watchful eyes that William was waiting for her.
As Henry quietly cheered, confused as to why William's plans always worked.
