The Summer Vacation Gang heard knocking on their door at an extremely early hour of the morning. Phineas and Ferb were the first to wake. Phineas looked at the clock on the bedside table next to them and saw that it was only 4:30 AM. This arguably explained why Master Roshi made them go to bed so early. Phineas got out of bed and went to answer the door.
"Good you're up. Are you ready to start training?" asked Master Roshi.
"I guess, but I didn't think we'd be starting so early," said Phineas, still half asleep.
"Well we've got a lot to do today, so its best we start early," said Master Roshi.
"Now go see if everyone's awake and if they're not awake, make them get up. And I don't want to hear any complaining about how early it is," said Master Roshi.
Phineas did as he was told and left to go wake everyone else. None of them were happy about it, particularly Buford, but they had all agreed to undertake Master Roshi's training, so they knew it was best to not complain. Within ten minutes, they were all up, dressed and outside, ready to start their first day of training. Before they truly began, Master Roshi had a few things he wanted to say.
"Alright today is the day we truly begin your education in the Martial Arts of the turtle school. But before we begin, I have a few words to say with regards to Martial Arts. You do not study Martial Arts in order to become popular with your peers. You study Martial Arts to master health in mind, body and to live a courageous, unique and energetic life!" explained Master Roshi. "However, if someone tries to harm you or any decent people, you must defeat those enemies with a single powerful attack! Understand?
The Summer Vacation Gang decided to talk amongst themselves and decided that the meaning of Master Roshi's speech was that they needed to train hard and enjoy life at the same time.
"Yeah we understand," said Phineas.
"Good, now we will start training today with some light jogging," said Master Roshi.
The Summer Vacation Gang did as they were told and followed Master Roshi. This was all they did for a while. Thankfully Master Roshi was going slow enough that everyone could keep up. This all seemed far too easy for Martial Arts Training, but the Summer Vacation Gang had a feeling the worst was yet to come. Eventually they came across a building that simply said Milk. There was a man working out front who appeared to be a sentient cow.
"Halt," said Master Roshi.
The kids stopped as Master Roshi went to talk to the man.
"I'm Master Roshi, I called Yesterday about helping with the Milk Delivery," said Master Roshi.
"Yes, I remember, good to see you again. I should let you know there's a slightly bigger delivery rout then before," said the man, showing Master Roshi a map.
"That's alright, it will help them grow stronger," said Master Roshi.
"Let me guess, there's no point in asking if your gonna take the chopper?" asked the Man, remembering what Roshi did with the last two kids he got to help with Milk Deliveries.
"Of course, not these kids are here to train," said Master Roshi, who then pointed to a stack of five separate Milk Crates. "Alright kids pick up a crate each."
"Wait what?" asked Phineas.
"Believe me its good exercise," said Master Roshi.
The Summer Vacation Gang thought this was a little weird for a training exercise. On the other hand, Goku had told them Master Roshi had trained him as a child, so they figured they should trust. That and they had all agreed to undertake the training no matter how difficult. They did as they were told and picked up a crate each.
"Well I guess this isn't too different to things I've done as a Fire Side Girl," said Isabella.
"Yeah, maybe we should've just all become Fire Side Girls for the Summer," said Buford, who thought this was a stupid exercise.
"Guys, Mr Goku told us to trust Master Roshi, so I think we should just do it besides how hard can milk delivering be?" asked Phineas.
Little did Phineas know; it would be extremely difficult.
"Alright kids, you ready to go?" asked Master Roshi.
"Yes," said Phineas.
"Alright, now the first house is two kilometres away. But we're not gonna walk we're gonna skip," said Master Roshi.
"Wait what?" asked Phineas again.
"Times wasting let's go," said Master Roshi, who started skipping.
The Summer Vacation Gang shared a look. This was getting weirder by the second. Despite the vast intelligence that most of them possessed, they still had no idea how this related to Martial Arts. Maybe they would learn eventually. Maybe this was just another lesson they needed to learn. They did as they were told and started skipping after Master Roshi. Buford was the most annoyed by this as he thought it looked way to girly. After two kilometres of skipping they made it to the first house. They were already tired but had a feeling this was the easy part. After they took the empty milk bottles and deposited the full bottles, Master Roshi spoke again.
"Alright kids you see this tree lined path," said Master Roshi pointing at a nearby path.
"Yeah," was all the kids could say in response.
"Where gonna zig-zag through these trees," said Master Roshi.
The kids did there best not to groan. After zig-sagging through the trees they eventually made it to the second house. Isabella, Phineas and Baljeet were lagging a little, but not by much.
"Kids you need to move faster, or the milk will spoil," said Master Roshi, as they took the empty bottles and deposited new ones. "Just so you know, we're climbing a mountain next."
"What?" asked Baljeet.
"Yup," said Master Roshi, pointing at some nearby steps that led up to the top of a large mountain. "You don't have to run this one, but I still expect you to be quick."
This did make the kids groan. This was much harder than the last two exercises and the gang had a feeling this would still be easier than what they had to do next. It took a while for them to climb the steps and they were all covered in sweat before they were even halfway up. To top it all off, Isabella's hair was a mess. They eventually reached the top and found Master Roshi smoking on a pipe.
"Good you kids made it," said Master Roshi.
Baljeet couldn't take it anymore. He had to ask what this had to do with Martial Arts.
"Master how will this help us get strong?" asked Baljeet puffing.
"You told me last night you were a straight A student, you tell me," said Master Roshi, but Baljeet honestly did not have an answer.
While this was happening the rest of the gang took the empty milk bottles and deposited the new ones. While they were doing this an elderly bald man came out to greet them.
"Thankyou so much," said the man.
"Your welcome," was all Phineas could say as he was out of breath.
The man then looked at Master Roshi.
"Master Roshi good to see you again, have you taken on new students?" asked the man.
"Yes indeed, there not as strong as my last two, but I have a feeling they have just as much potential," said Master Roshi.
To hear a wise old Martial Arts master say they had potential, helped lift the spirits of the Summer Vacation Gang.
"Are you planning to enter them in the worlds martial arts tournament like the last two?" asked the man.
"Indeed, I am, but unlike with Goku and Krillin, I only have three months to get these kids into shape, so I'm gonna have to push them even harder," said Master Roshi.
Having heard this, the Summer Vacation Gang knew that the training was going to get much harder in a short amount of time.
"Well under your training I'm sure you'll do great," said the Man.
"Master Roshi, do you think we can get strong enough to enter?" asked Phineas hopefully.
"If you train hard enough, I'm sure you can," said Master Roshi. "That being said I don't want any of you to enter the tournament with the expectations that you will win. All I want you to focus on is being strong enough to enter the tournament, because that should be more then enough to make you work hard in your current and future training."
"We'll do our best," said Phineas, as everyone nodded in agreement.
"Good now let's get going the Milk's getting warm. Also keep the complaining to a minimum if you can," said Master Roshi, as the kids picked up their Milk Crates and followed Master Roshi to continue their training.
Sure enough the milk delivery only got harder. They had to balance on a log that was suspended between two cliffs, then they had to walk though sand that swallow them if they did not move quick enough, but it did not stop there. They then had to walk through a stream that was right next to a waterfall, so the current was extremely powerful. Their last big obstacle was running from a dinosaur that was just as big and looked just as hungry, as the one they ran from the day they met Goku. Shortly after that, they finished their milk deliveries and finally got to take a break. Good thing two, because they could barely stand.
"Well that's the first day of deliveries down. Now I know this may seem hard now, but it will get much easier over the next three months," said Master Roshi.
None of the kids said anything in response. They were way to tired.
"Well that completes our early morning training, so let's begin our mid-morning training," said Master Roshi.
Although the kids had agreed to keep the complaining to a minimum, they could not help, but groan at this.
