I look around when we sit at the table at the most exclusive restaurant in Manhattan. I could have known. He is acting like the billionaire he should be, though that is not why I fell in love with him. He looks at my face while I am holding the menu. I am looking at the dishes. I look up and see him smiling.

"Why are we here?"
"I thought you might like it."
"Johnny, we've spent a week together under the same roof, day in and day out, what makes you think I would like a place like this?"

He sighs soundly. I look back at the menu and check the duck dishes out. When I look up again, I see that smug grin coming up. I roll my eyes.

"Stop that."
"Stop what?"
"That smug grin."
"I don't have a smug grin."
"You do."

He stuck his tongue out to me and I giggle about it.

"Next time I'll take you to McDonalds' or something, if this isn't to your pleasing."
"I love McDonalds'."

He looks at my face with a weird expression, making me giggle again.

"You love everything that's edible."
"You're quite right about that."

He chuckles and rolls his eyes at me. I give him a grin and we look at each other.

"You're hard to please, Baby, you make from everything a challenge."
"I must keep it interested."
"You don't have to keep playing hard to get all the time."
"And why should I stop doing that?"
"Because…"

He lays his left hand on the table, his palm up while he looks at me with that smile. Damn, I just cannot play hard to get with him all the time. His smile alone makes my knees wobbly. His eyes suck me right into his soul. I look at his hand and slowly lay my hand on his. He closes his fingers around my hand as he keeps looking at my face with that smile.

"No matter what you do, or try, or say, Baby, I'll always try to please you."
"How can you be so sure about that?"
"I can't, I know anything can happen, but what I'm sure of is that I want to be with you. I want to be next to you and see you smile all the time."
"Even if I let you work hard for it?"
"Yes. I know it sounds ridiculous coming from me, but yes."

The waitress came to our table. She looks at Johnny with a smile.

"Hey, Johnny."
"Hey, Rachel, I didn't know you work here."
"Was I so bad in bed that you seem not to want to see me again?"
"No, you weren't."
"Then why are you avoiding me? I thought we had a connection."

I look at her. You know as well as I do, reader, he was a womanizer. I guess we always will keep running into women who he had slept with, and who he seemingly has given a lot of hope too. You know what the strangest thing is? I am not even jealous at all. Is that not weird? Others would be jealous, oh I bet you would be jealous too, reader, and no matter how much they want him, I got one thing that they will never have. You know by now what that is. Exactly, his smile.

We are still holding hands on the table. Rachel is not looking at me, but she has seen our hands. I lay down the menu.

"Can we order, please?"
"I'm not done talking yet."
"That's quite rude."
"No, I'm not rude, what's rude is that someone like you is holding hands with my boyfriend."

Johnny inhales deeply and want to let my hand go. I grab his hand a little tighter and he looks at me. I smile at him. I squeeze a little and turn my hand a little. He looks at our hands. I let my middle finger run softly over his palm. He takes a sound breath and looks at my face again. I bite my lip and I see his expression. He starts to smile again, the special smile. I got the result I want and look at Rachel who is looking at me with an angry expression. I give her a bright smile.

"And what are you going to do about it?"
"You'll see."
"You know, I can get you fired and make sure you can't get a job anywhere else if you don't start doing your job properly, and stop being rude to customers."
"You can't do that."
"I can."
"You're nothing, just a little girl."

Johnny sighs deeply. Damn, I have never been like this before, and I do not even know where this is coming from. All I know is that I won't let anyone ruin my date. I never had a real date before, at least not like this, and I am enjoying it. I enjoy the time alone with Johnny. He looks at her as well and she sees his face. His smile is gone.

"I want another waiter."
"No, Johnny, I need this table."
"Why?"
"I'm already cut on tables, and I need the money."
"And here I sit, thinking that you need this table because two billionaires are sitting at it. Knowing that you can get big tips from here."

I look at Johnny. Okay, now I want to crawl over the table and eat his face. No one has ever defended me like this. I know, I normally do not walk around like I am a billionaire, and I know he does not either. But Rachel knows he is one, that is why she acts the way she does.

I am beginning to understand a few things now. For one, why he never committed himself to anyone, women not only want sex from him, but they also want his money. Is this why he wants me? Because he knows I do not need his money?

"That little girl, a billionaire? Yeah, right, she just want your money, Johnny."
"And you don't, Rachel?"

She looks at me. I am so tired of this now. I am hungry and we need to go to that company as well, we do not have the whole evening for this dinner.

"Look, I get it, I mean, look at him, he's gorgeous. He has abs you want to lick when you see them, right?"

I see her making little eyes at me. Johnny's eyebrows went up as he looks at my fierce expression.

"Yes, I've seen his abs too, and I know I look like an innocent little girl in your eyes, but guess what? I've got more power than you ever can imagine. So do me one favor, if you want to keep this table and your job, start doing your job and stop thinking that a billionaire is your boyfriend because you've slept once with him."

I keep looking at her. I can see she wants to throw all sorts of things at me, call me all sorts of names, but she is holding herself in because, believe it or not, she actually got frightened as well. I can see she does not want to lose her job.

"Are you done raging? Can we order now?"
"Yes. Can I take your order?"

I watch her being professional now. I start to smile and give her a nod. Johnny is still looking at me, in fact, he has not taken his eyes off of me. I look at him and see his smile again. I see his eyes and smile back at him. I can see him admiring me.

"You're amazing, Baby."
"Not really."

I look at Rachel again, who is now watching us as she is waiting.

"Is the grilled duck with red wine sauce or with pepper sauce?"
"Red wine sauce, you can get the bechamel sauce next to it, I would personally recommend it, it's amazingly delicious."

I watch her and smile. She sees my face and I give her a nod of approval. I see her inhaling deeply.

"Have you taste the grilled duck?"
"Yes, and I really recommend it."
"Great, then I want the grilled duck, with the bechamel sauce at the side. And I know they don't really serve fries here."
"Only for the children."
"Can I have a portion? I'm craving for fries, it's Johnny's fault."

Rachel looks at him, I give him a teasing grin. He rolls his eyes.

"For me the same, and bring the best bottle of red wine they serve here."

She nods and looks at her notebook.

"So, two grilled ducks with bechamel sauce at the side and each a bowl of fries?"
"Yes, thank you."

She walks away and I look at him.

"I never thought you could be so fierce."
"Me neither."

We both chuckle about it. He turns his hand and I watch him entwining fingers. I look back at his face and see his smile.

"No one has ever defended me like that."
"Not even Penny?"
"Well, Pen defends me, but not in this way, because she always tells me it's my own fault."
"It is your own fault, you're the womanizer here."

He looks down, I watch him.

"But you know."

He looks back up and sees my smile.

"I don't even care. I'll beat every woman that comes in our way."
"No one has ever said something like that to me."
"I mean it, Johnny, I don't care with how many women you've slept."
"You want to be my girlfriend?"

My eyebrows go up, but I keep watching his face. I do not know what I am searching for, but I see the special smile, and I see his eyes. He licks his lips a little.

"Isn't that a little too early?"
"Why?"
"This is our first date."
"You really want to tell me that you first want more dates?"

I giggle about his question.

"Maybe I should tease you a little."
"Come on Baby, we've spent like twenty-four seven last week. We're always together."
"You've really forgotten that I'm still your assistant."
"But I don't see you as such anymore."

I inhale deeply, he has a point. I do not see myself as such anymore either.

"If we do this, how does this work in our professional lives?"
"It depends on what you want, Baby."
"You want me to be your girlfriend only, or do you want me to be your assistant too? Because you should know, I'm not going to stop working when we're in a relationship. If you don't want me to be your assistant anymore, then I'll look for another job."

I see him biting his lip and inhaling deeply.

"I want you to be both. I can see how much you love doing the events, I'm not going to tell you that you should stop doing them because you don't have to."
"Good, because I'll run for the hills if you do."
"As long as you let me be a dancer."
"I would never want to change that."

I think back about the last three weeks, my job, and dad's event. I am realizing what I really like to do. Maybe I should look at which college I can learn event management. Johnny is still looking at my face.

"What are you thinking of?"

I smile as I look at our hands.

"I might just go to college after summer."
"Which college do you want to go to?"
"Dad always wanted me to go to Mt. Holyoke, but that's more for becoming a doctor or something."
"It's a great college though."
"I know, but how do you know that?"

He smiles at me when Rachel came back with the bottle of wine.

"You want to try it first?"

I look at her and nod. We watch her opening the bottle and pouring some in a glass. I take it and sniff at it. Johnny is watching me as he waits. I taste some. I have learned this from mom, dad is not really a wine drinker and mom loves wine. This one is really good, a bit tangy, but sweet, I like it very much.

"Taste's great."

I give the glass to Johnny who takes it and drinks some. I giggle a little as I can see he does not really care about this.

"Yeah, it's good."

Rachel nods and fills our glasses. I watch her closely. I can see she is very skilled.

"The food will arrive soon."
"Thanks."

She walks away and I look at him. I miss his hand already.
