It's been at least a month since Scarlet and I met together and became partners on Team Ranger, we've made many friends but sadly have been unable to uncover my lost memories or return home.
"I'm glad to say..." Wigglytuff began to say with us sitting around him, it seemed like ten to eleven different teams consisting of teams ranging from two to five members.
"I'm glad to say, That we've rescued over one-thousand Pokémon since the beginning of the year" A loud cheer was heard around me with party decorations and food set out on tables catching my eye.
"Every one of you has done your part to bring peace to the land, so we've decided to give everyone some rest!"
Everyone seemed excited, I'm not wondering why, We've been getting missions stacked upon each other so I understand, even I could use a break, mainly cause I'm getting hurt after every mission and constantly having to get bandages, even now I had bandages wrapped around my forelegs and forehead.
"I bet you're glad about the break, huh"
"I guess so, Chansey keeps telling me that I need to rest so my injuries will heal"
"Well, she's right you should take time to heal between missions"
"Congratulations you two, in the past month you've become great assets to the guild, "Wigglytuff said to them with a smile" You two enjoy your break"
I then heard a mega horn from the village, It was Loudred, I could easily tell from the voice and the ridiculously loud tone.
"A recent note is that two dangerous Pokémon have been released from prison, however, they have been known to take weak Pokémon and hold them up for ransom, so please keep clear of them"
"Goodra and Ivysaur? Never heard of them"
"As loudred said, they're bad news, and you've got to stay away from them at all costs"
"Scarlet's right, get even just an inch too close, and you'll be taken out like a light" I heard Sylvie say to me as she and Akari came close."As of right now, everyone's safety is under high priority"
"Uh...I understand, but what do they look like in the first place?"
Sylvie headed towards a bulletin board then returning holding two photos, one was of a dark wolf, while the other seemed like a plant-based Pokémon that lived on the line of Pokémon and Plant.
"I know they seem harmless, but their abilities are worrisome, a single sleep powder and vine whip from Ivysaur will leave you unconscious and restrained, Zoroark strength and illusion makes it easy for them to cover up their tracks"
"I see, I'll stay safe in town"
"I will as well!"Scarlet said after me
" Well enough about that, we're here to party, so let's have fun!"Sylvie said with her ribbons holding up a drink, Pokémon like me who couldn't hold their own had bowls with drinks such as juice and soda.
"H-hi? Is this Wigglytuff's guild?" A shy, quiet voice asked with a whimper. I looked to them seeing an unfamiliar Pokémon, they seemed to be a small blue and black Pokémon with stars on its ears and the end of its tail.
"Yes, Welcome, did you need anything?"
"I-I wanted to join a Pokémon Rescue team"
"I understand...Let's see I think you'll do best with Team Ranger! Come over, Aurora and Scarlet"
I quietly nodded coming over to Wigglytuff with Scarlet to my side. The Pokémon seemed shy and timid, looking like they could be scared by a Caterpie, even so, he seemed determined.
"H-hi, I'm Volt, It's nice to meet you"
"Likewise, I'm Scarlet, and this is Aurora, try not to ask too many questions, he has pretty bad Amnesia" I would have introduced myself, but I guess that worked too
"Welcome, feel free to greet the other members"
It didn't take long for Volt to try and meet the other teams, Despite his shy and timid personality, he was quite kind, and all around, a good Pokémon
"Why don't you go over to the market in town, they hand out kits to new team members," Wigglytuff told Volt
"Sounds good," He looked to Scarlet and I "W-would you like to C-c-come with me? Ah! Nevermind, I know you wouldn't, I'm sorry!"
"You don't have to be like that around us, we're friends now!" Scarlet said with confidence, I think she inspired Volt a bit, I know she once did the same for me.
"Right! S-so did you want to come?"
"Sure, sounds like fun, plus we want you to meet someone"
"Okay then...Let's go!"
We followed Volt to the market to meet Kecleon who seemed...off, but I thought nothing of it, after all, everyone had a rough day every once in a while.
"Hey, all! Congratulations on the guild's one-thousandth rescue! And you must be a new member, am I right?"
"T-that's right..."
"No need to be shy, here take this" A short yellow scarf was tied around his neck in a manner so he wouldn't trip on it. "And take this badge"He put the badge onto the scarf for them" That looks great on you, you'll make a great hostage!"
"Hostage!? You aren't Kecleon!"I said in a defensive position ready to unleash a wintery nightmare upon them as they began to shapeshift into the figure from the poster
" Three for one, not bad, Zoroark"A voice came from behind the stand with vines appearing from its bulb.
"We need to hurry, let's go!" Scarlet said as we started to run as best we could, Almost on instinct, I fired my Powder Snow attack upon the ground freezing it solid while also making it difficult to get across, That both helped and hurt us as Volt slipped and fell. All I could do was bash into him to make him slide away when they tried to catch him, instead they caught me as I fired Powder Snow once again, this time a muzzle was put over my mouth preventing me from using any ice attacks as well as preventing my speech. Scarlet and Volt were able to get away luckily
"Ohoho, look who decided to be the hero, but one hostage sure is better than none, we'll be able to get a nice ransom for this rarity" All I could do was look up knowing there was nothing I could do.
•Scarlet's POV•
"W-wigglytuff! Wigglytuff!" I said out of breath rushing back to the guild. If we didn't hurry, who knows what could have been done to Aurora.
"What's wrong? You're out of breath, and where's Aurora?"
"H-he got taken by Zoroark!" I started crying, Volt looked scared as well, even if my tears blurred my vision.
"You two need to stay here and stay safe, I'll send a couple of Rescue teams to go after him"
Sylvie then came to me, wiping my tears with her ribbons and beginning to speak in a soft voice
"Don't you worry, I promise we'll get Aurora back safely"
"Y-you promise?"
"I promise, you guys stay here and stay safe"
"O-okay..." I sniffled glancing at volt, even if he wasn't crying, it still looked like he had taken it hard"Volt? You okay?"
"He's gone because of me..."
"It isn't either of your faults, Pokémon like Zoroark and Ivysaur have no right to Pokénap and put them for ransom"
"He saved me...At his own cost"
"Volt, you need to remember that Aurora is brave, he's risked his wellbeing on numerous occasions, and remember he's just up for ransom so he'll be back home safely before you know it, "I told him, I hope it worked even if I saw a small smile sprout from his face, I wasn't too sure if he would be okay myself.
•Aurora's POV•
" Well we got ourselves a rare little one, "I heard one of them say. I couldn't see or speak so there was no way of telling where I was. The scents weren't familiar either so they couldn't guide me back.
" We sure did! Alolan Vulpix! Wasn't he the one who's said to have amnesia?"
"Amnesia!? You're saying we kidnapped a kid with amnesia who probably doesn't even have parents!"
They started to argue with whatever I rode in coming to a sudden halt. It felt like wood, was I inside a wagon or something? I tried to speak or do anything but nothing came out, the metal muzzle over my face was too secure, I couldn't even try to shake it off. The next thing I knew, I heard footsteps come closer, one...no two Pokémon. as a sack was pulled off my head bringing into sight two malicious looking Pokémon.
"Now kid, we're just going to ask you a few questions, promise not to scream or attack?"
I nodded softly as Zoroark unbuckled the muzzle pulling it out from over my mouth and nose. I guess they could see that I was scared since one of them backed up while the other tried to calm me down.
"Now easy, what's your name?"
"A-aurora"
"Do you have a last name?"
"None that I can remember, sorry"
"Okay, do you have any family?"
"No"
"You don't have any family? Where do you live?"
"I live in Wigglytuff's guild with Scarlet"
"Scarlet! Who's this Scarlet?" Zoroark seemed to be getting excited, even if just slightly.
"She's my teammate on our Rescue Team, Team Ranger"
"Oh? So you're part of a rescue team now?"
I wasn't sure what to do, so I just nodded not wanting the muzzle back on.
"Well, sure is ironic how you need to be rescued, but don't worry, if we're paid, then you'll be back safe and sound"
"Why do you need the money?" I asked, instantly regretting it."N-nevermind, forget That I asked!"
"It's because of the prison, I might not look it, but I'm poor, when I was sent to jail nobody would ever give me a second chance. I couldn't get anyone to hire me."
"That's horrible...I'm sure you could become part of a Rescue Team, that way you get paid for helping others!"
"That's awful nice kiddo, but they'll never accept me"
"I'll get them to give you a second chance, besides they let me, a complete stranger, join. I may not have any memories but if you can change for the better then that's what you should do"
"I'll think about it...Y'know you're quite strange for a hostage"
"I am? Well, I dunno who I used to be, or where I came from. But if I'm here, then it must be for a good reason, might as well make the most of it!" I said then seeing a tear go down Zoroark's cheek.
" Is something wrong?"
"I-it's nothing. Just remind me of my kid is all"
"Oh, I see"
I could hear some sirens in the background, the police maybe? Either that or Rescue Teams. It was too far to see the difference.
"Oh jeez, we need to hurry!" Zoroark slammed the doors shut as both she and Ivysaur bolted for the front of the vehicle and had it start moving at a high rate.
"S-slow down!" I cried being launched into the back which I felt a sharp pain falling out cold.
