There is no reason to stay in this world.

Kaname Madoka does not exist in it.

No she exists, but as a missing person. She exists but as a gravestone. She's not here. She can't be saved because she's not here.

"It's too bad you already have a contract," says the incubator. There's no indication that it matters, that even this is not an important thing, that Walphurghis Nacht is coming and he doesn't care that his usual safe case or his future world-destroying which doesn't exist. None of it matters.

This world doesn't matter without Madoka. Nothing matters without Madoka.

"Ah, I see." The incubator begins to walk in the opposite direction from her, ignoring her flat expression. "You are one of us, trying to prevent the future we know will come, aren't you?"

The gun is in her hands, the magazine empty before she even knows it.
