Homura means to follow the pattern and lead Madoka to the infirmary. She really does. But at lunch, the three girls troop away to the school roof. Homura follows quietly as they chatter. The three of them seem relaxed now that they're outside of the classroom.
"The transfer student kept looking at you Kaname-san," Hitomi says with a giggle. "I told you the black ribbons would work."
Madoka pouts. "They do not. They stand out."
"Your mom buys good stuff."
"What was that about "girls can't like girls"?"
Sayaka really is different when not pining over a boy.
Hitomi makes a face. "Well yes but Kaname-san is different isn't she?"
"What's that supposed to mean?" Sayaka protests.
Homura leaves before she hears the answer. She doesn't realize Madoka's eyes are following her footsteps as they leave.
