Mirabel Madrigal and a girl with cocoa brown hair and hazel eyes sat by the river, talking and laughing.

"I love our dates, Isa. But, I don't know if mi familia is going to be as accepting as yours was." Mirabel said, looking at her girlfriend as she remembered when Isabel came out to her parents.

Yes, Mirabel Madrigal was attracted to girls. And she loved Isabel very much.

"It's okay, Mira. I'll be right there beside you," Isabel reassured her girlfriend, kissing her cheek.

With that said, Mirabel and Isabel made their way back to the Casita. However, when they got there, all the Madrigals were standing outside, and most of them were not very happy. Antonio, though, ran up to Mirabel and leapt into her arms.

Abuela looked at her youngest granddaughter with disappointment mixed with disapproval. "Mirabel Josephina Madrigal, who is this?" she asked.

Mirabel looked her grandmother in the eye and said, "This is Isabel, my girlfriend."

Most of the Madrigals looked surprised, while Isabela, Agustin, Félix, Bruno, Dolores, Camilo, Antonio, Julieta, and Luisa just smiled. Isabela said, "Well, as long as Mira is happy, that's all that matters."

Mirabel ran into her big sister's arms and hugged her tightly. Isabela smiled at Mirabel and returned the hug with Julieta, Antonio, Bruno, Felix, Agustin, and Luisa joined in.

Isabel stood to the side and gazed at Mirabel with love and devotion in her eyes. She would do anything for her, no matter what happens.

Later that evening, there was a music festival in the town and everyone in Encanto was dancing. Isabel looked around and saw Mirabel standing off to the side with a small smile at she tapped her foot to the music. Taking in the other girls outfit, which consisted of an indigo crop top that left Mirabel's entire stomach exposed and a dark purple knee-length skirt and pale lavender ballet flats. On top of that, Mirabel's glasses were gone, probably wearing contacts, and her hair was tied in a low ponytail.

Isabel turned to Mirabel now, already smiling, and held out her hand, inviting her to dance.

Mirabel looked away nervously. "I don't know, Isabel. These shoes aren't really right for dancing, and I-I'm not sure that I know how to-"

That just got Isabel to smile wider. "Take my hand, Mira. You trust me, right?"

Finally, Mirabel looked up with a soft smile and took Isabel's hand, allowing herself to be led onto the dance floor. "Okay."

Isabel whispered something in Mirabel's ear, and the two girls bowed to each other before circling each other, arms in the air and wrists barely touching. They spun around and circled each other again, earning nearly everyone's attention.

"Isabel, everyone's watching," Mirabel whispered.

"Don't worry about them, mi amore. It's just you and me right now."

That cause Mirabel to flush slightly before her gaze became determined.

As one, they began to step back and forth. As she stepped forward, Mirabel stepped back and vice versa. On an unspoken cue, Isabel stepped back, dropping her hand as they circled once again. Isabel kicked at Mira, who weaved out of the way.

Then, Mirabel did a full cartwheel before the two girls did double handsprings in sync, landing on their feet. Mirabel elegantly twirled around before doing a handstand and falling onto her feet.

None of the villagers had ever seen Mirabel move so gracefully, like a swallow. The Familia Madrigal watch as the second youngest child danced with her lover, nearly all of them in awe and surprise. Isabela had a look of pride directed at her baby sister; Mirabel helped her to be herself, and now it was her turn.

The dance ended with Isabel catching Mirabel in a dip, causing the crowd to erupt in cheers.
