A/N: Shout outs to my anonymous reviewer and James Birdsong. A small smattering of the meeting between Elphaba and the King and Queen but also some trouble ahead! Glad you liked the previous chapter!

Chapter 10

"Yero, I'm not sure this is a good idea," Elphaba said as they walked down the hallway toward Morrible's office.

"My parents asked for you. You don't exactly say 'no' to the King and Queen of the Vinkus," he told her.

"Do they know about us?" she kept her tone low.

"No, but we can tackle that later. We need to see what they want first and then we'll go from there. They also wanted to speak to the Council," Fiyero explained. Elphaba heaved a sigh as they approached the office. He grabbed her hand and gave it a squeeze. Sergeant Duncan and Corporal Bly were guarding the door and the Sergeant quickly let them into room. Extra chairs had been brought in and some of the Quoxwood furniture moved. Glinda had taken a seat next to the Queen.

"Your Majesties, may I introduce, Elphaba Thropp," their son announced.

"Your Majesties," the green woman quickly bowed.

"Miss Thropp? Any relation to the former Governor of Munchkinland?" Queen Ayla wanted to know. If they royals were taken aback by her skin color, they were doing an excellent job of hiding it.

"It's a long story, your Majesty," Elphaba admitted.

"Well, I look forward to hearing it once we have gotten all the facts from the Council. We've been told that they are on their way," King Tahir smiled slightly.

"Councilmen Barat, Arif, and Fekri are good men and will give you what you need I'm sure," Elphaba smiled slightly. That's when the door to the office opened and in walked the Councilmen and two Munchkins.

"Miss Elphaba!" Mopsi was glad to see she was ok given all that had been going on.

"I thought you two were staying under the radar," she said.

"I would not let them for this meeting," Councilman Arif told her.

"Gentlemen you must fill us in on all that has been going on," King Tahir said.

"Of course, your Majesties," Councilman Barat said taking a seat. They quickly got to breaking everything down for the Vinkun Royals.

Meanwhile, Chistery and his fellow Flying Monkeys were keeping an eye on the Wizard. Lieutenant Zetti had calmed Lieutenant Bahri when he came upon the current arrangement. Now the Gale Force officer returned to the prisoner to speak with the leader of the Flying Monkeys.

"How goes it?" Zetti asked.

"He's been behaving so far. How much longer do we need to watch him?" Chistery wondered.

"Hard to say. Perhaps the King and Queen of the Vinkus will have better ideas on how to handle this one," the Lieutenant said. That's when they were joined by Private Schultz.

"Sirs," he said.

"What's going on Private?" Zetti was a little concerned by the young man's appearance.

"Sergeant Zeki, he needs help. The medical staff are concerned that he's not regaining any strength like they thought he would," Schultz told them.

"Damn. All right, we have no choice we must interrupt the meeting and get Miss Elphaba to him immediately. I'm not losing a good officer to a bunch of Wizard-ass-kissing punks," Zetti charged off. Schultz watched him go and Chistery said,

"Protect Miss Elphaba young squire. There are still many bad actors in these parts."

"I'll do my best Mr. Chistery. Know that," Schultz nodded before he left as well.

"Why do you defend the Witch so? Has she bewitched you all?" The Wizard asked from his spot, tied to a chair.

"She has more compassion and understanding in her pinky finger than you do in your entire body. You are the reason we are this way. You tricked her. We will stand by her side forever and will do what we need to, in order to protect her while you bathe in the atrocities you have caused. These atrocities have rotted you from the inside out and you are so blind with power that you don't see it," Chistery shot back at him. The Wizard said nothing and scowled.
