He was lying in bed, just on the brink of sleep, when something tapped on the window.

He ignored it. It was probably some random noise, but the tapping was incessant and only grew louder.

Finally, grumbling, he got of the bed and let Crystalline's damned owl in.

It had two letters, one tied on its legs, the other clasped in its beak.

It opened its mouth and dropped the letter in its beak into Ron's lap, before flying out of the window again.

He opened the letter and read it's contents sleepily.

'Dear Ron,

Thanks for the books! The Dursleys have been tamer than usual.

Congratulations on winning the lottery by the way. You deserve to get a break after helping defeat a bloody basilisk
