Sunset

Disclaimer: If I could own ATLAB, it wouldn't be on Nickelodeon because it'd be too filthy to show to little kids. :O

A/N: This drabble was actually my first one of these, but then I thought a "drabble-story" would work out better, so I decided to make up another one quick so it could serve as the first chapter. Which is where the title, Sunset, came from.

Chapter 2: Magic

Katara looked out at the setting sun over the sea. She didn't know how long she had been held captive onboard the ship that belonged to that blasted bastard of the Fire Nation Prince Zuko.

She sighed. Where could Sokka and Aang be? Surely looking for me, yes?

"Isn't it funny how the beautifully the fire of the sun can merge with the calm coolness of the sea?" The voice of her captor spoke behind her. Zuko moved in next to her and joined in her gaze across the sea.

He seemed… simply mesmerized by the sunset.

"Yes," She said finally, "It is beautiful."

She felt a warm hand on her shoulder. If this had been any other moment, she would have cursed him off and he would have snapped back and slapped her.

Things just seemed different, now. How so?

"Too bad life can't be like this." His voice was distant and sad.

"What do you mean?"

"The sun and the sea. In this world of war, the two could never co-exist. At least, not peacefully."

"Maybe one day they could."

She's always so full of hope.

Silence.

"Maybe." He walked away, off to do whatever he had to do. Talking to me was probably just an excuse to waste some time. She felt cold and lonely without his warm hand on her. How very odd.

Zuko looked back at the girlish figure out on the deck, her image being engulfed by the last shining remnants of the setting sun. He couldn't admit it. He'd never admit it. But she was beautiful.

A lot like that damned sunset.

A/N: Too long of a drabble? What would a drabble legnth actually be? Does it matter,really?I actually didn't expect it to be this long. Eh. Oh well. ;
