"So Winter what's Atlas like?" Acon asked Winter who was piloting the ship taking the two to Atlas. He looked out the window and saw the ocean underneath that separated Vale from Atlas, Winter being so highly ranked was able to take use of the fact that she could take a more direct route as needed rather than going through the mainland.
"Well to put it simply Atlas is a floating city where the higher classes, the rich, or those that are well off dwell alongside our military and scientific resources. But underneath Atlas is Mantle where a majority of our faunus and lesser classes find themselves. Mostly due to the prejudice that the faunus face as being seen as a lesser species."

After taking a moment to think about that he couldn't help but ask himself if it was any similar to Kami's palace or even Conton city being a floating city itself but he decided not to worry about that and instead asked,

"Yea what's up with that? From how that Cardin kid was talking I'm guessing it's pretty common?" and now it was Winter who had to think before saying anything especially given her father's influence on the disputes between the races. She frowned knowing that when Weiss eventually took over the company she would have much more trouble than she needed to take to even begin to fix the problems.

Noticing her mood slowly growing sour at the conversation Acon decided to change the subject,

"Well I wonder how Ozpin wants me and Mira to open the tournament? Seems like a sort of spur of the moment decision doesn't it?" He asked Winter while stretching his arms up getting a little cramped in the ship still not completely used to flying with vehicles.

'Man I hope Towa is able to figure out what's wrong with my ki, this sucks!' he thought to himself before tuning into Winter who was about to speak up thankful for the change in subject.

"I imagine it's not only a way to give you something to do considering what you've told us about your race being a warrior race but I imagine it's also a way to gauge your capabilities at the moment, especially given what you've disclosed to us about your current status."

"Hm yea I can see that, speaking of what does your boss think about what you've told him?" He asked nonchalantly causing Winter to jerk suddenly in her seat making the ship swerve a bit causing Acon to slide off his seat not expecting it,

"Hey you ok what happened-" He couldn't get to finish before Winter suddenly spoke up.

"How were you aware of this?!" She said shocked that Acon even knew about this given she never actually spoke about her true objective at Beacon in the months she knew the other worlders.

"I mean it's not hard to figure out really, some basic research showed Mira, Towa, and I a bit about your job as a special operative or the generals second in command, we figured it was a security thing and never bothered bringing it up seeing as it wasn't important in the long run. If it was anything major we all figured you would bring it up yourself hehe. Also you had double the reason to worry because not only did you have three strangers from another universe showing up but they were in close proximity with your sister too."

Winter was quite frankly shocked to hear the reasoning and deductions they made and apart of her felt touched that they put that much faith in her own sense of accountability. But the worst part was she wasn't even sure she deserved that sort of faith. At least before she spent so much time with these people. Towa is a genius unrivaled with he best minds in Atlas not even coming close. Mira was intriguing to watch as he grew from an emotionless being to someone struggling with newfound emotions and even his interactions with Blake the few that they have had was truly entertaining to see. Even Amber was new to be around with her new lease on life she was more carefree and with their enemies believing her to be in a coma hiding she has been able to act freely and do the things she never had a chance to being forced into the role of a maiden and constantly moving around to avoid being caught by unsavory individuals.

And then there was Acon, somebody who at this point she could truly call a friend. All the late night talks, the early morning training in the gravity room, the spars against each other. Even one memory stood out against the others from one of the only requests he made of her.

In the gravity chamber a few months ago

Acon and Winter were sparring with Acon using his hands to deflect Winters Blows as he was helping her improve on her standard hand to hand combat skills in case she lost her weapons. Winter originally asked because himself and Mira were mostly hand to hand combatants and she felt she could use the improvements but today Acon decided to ask her a question.

"Hey Winter, I noticed your sword doesn't turn int a gun like almost every weapon I've seen here even different than Weiss's sword, is It just a normal sword?" Winter paused taking a breath before walking over to the side and grabbing some water tossing a bottle towards Acon before answering,

"Technically yes it is a normal sword but it does split into two separate blades, yet rather than relying on dust completely my fighting style mostly makes use of my semblance and I sue the swords to direct my attacks from a distance making me a mid to close range fighter. Why do you ask?"

"Well I was wondering, think you can teach me how to use swords like you do? I've seen you fight and I gotta say I'm impressed, back home we don't really focus on technique with weapons since when you can break planets it makes it pretty hard to find capable weapons that won't break quickly with only a few that come to mind."

After taking a moment to drink his own water he paused before saying,

"And considering unlike Towa who really stays away from combat and has the luxury of having angelic ki and Mira who's an android Technically I'm just a really strong person right now but I'd rather be more proficient in using a weapon so I don't always need to rely on my fists you know?"

After taking a moment to process what he was telling her Winter smiled to herself and felt a sense of pride and honor in the fact that he was asking her before schooling her features and saying,

"Of course Acon, it would be my honor, if you would like to study the art of dual wielding blades then today we shall go into town and get you some practice blades and tonight we will get started on your practice, understood?"

Acon just grinned and scratched the back of his head before agreeing,

"Yes now I don't have to go to class for this right?"

"Not at all, you're still going"

"Dang it"

Shaking herself out of the memory Winter asked out loud,

"Why?" Causing Acon to look over at her in her seat watching her grip the steering wheel of the ship tightly as her knuckles turned white.

"Hmm why what?"

"Why are you putting that much trust in myself? I essentially betrayed your trust!"

"Ah that well it's not a problem I mean you're just doing your job right? And besides what really cemented our trust is how you act with all of us."

Winter's eyes widened at that last statement but before she could ask again Acon continued,

"When you first showed up you were formal, even when I went Super Saiyan 3 I could see the look in your eyes calculating my threat level and such but over the past few months Winter we got to see the real you, we've sparred, laughed, found out new things about this world, essentially made a plan against the current heads of states if we need to and I can tell you haven't told him anything about that right?"

And Winter gasped realizing he was right,

'Why didn't I tell the General? In any other circumstance I would have, hell even the discovery that there is potentially more from Acon's world here would have been enough cause for me to tell so why?'

And then suddenly Weiss's face popped up in her mind and she realized why she never took action.

'If they wanted to use Ruby as a weapon, Weiss is her partner and knowing how stubborn that girl is she would have followed Ruby to combat against an immortal goddess!' and she knew that the idea of her sister being forced to fight a problem that Ozpin created disgusted her. And Knowing the general was on Ozpin's side firmly cemented her decision to begin hiding information.

"I see, you truly trusted me to make the right decision, didn't you?" She asked looking over at Acon and seeing him grinning before he said,

"Yep! I'm glad you figured it out, and besides there's nothing really to hide except for the whole treason thing right?" Winter just slapped on palm on her head in exasperation at his description.

"Why did you have to call it that…it doesn't change the fact that it's true but why?" She muttered causing Acon to snicker to himself before he looked forward and gave a whistle,

"So that's Atlas huh? Well this should be fun right?" he asked causing Winter to realize that over the course of this conversation they made to Atlas without her noticing but hearing Acon's statement she couldn't help the smile grow on her face,

"Yes, Yes this should be."

I'm so sorry! I had a lot going on and I was trying to fully write out my drafts on what direction this story is going to take and I figured it out! Hopefully now updates will be more consistent and I'll get this show on the road, also I changed the rating from M to T now that I know where I'm going to take this except for relationships but I'm honestly leaning towards Acon and Winter given the work I've put into those two specifically and comments and messages from readers about the pros and cons of it.

Thanks and please R and R!
