Ad'ika

Hunter learned early on with children that if you want them to go to bed on time, you needed to make bedtime special. With Omega, the two eventually learned a routine that worked.

Hunter walked out of the cockpit and saw Omega working on Gonky.

"Omega, go pick out a story," Hunter whispered as he placed a hand on Omega's shoulder.

"Ok," Omega replied. She grabbed a datapad and picked out a story and handed it to Hunter.

"Now, go take your shower and get ready for bed."

"OK."

Omega did as she was told and Hunter read the story over. When Omega was done, she walked out of the refresher and walked over to Hunter with a towel. Hunter took the towel and rubbed it in Omega's hair helping it dry. When it was dry enough, Hunter brushed it and then picked Omega up. He took Omega to her room and laid her down on her bed. He wrapped her in the blanket and made sure she had her stuffed toys.

"Ready?" Hunter asked. Omega nodded and Hunter pulled her close and read the story. When he was done, he looked down at Omega who was smiling up at him. "Time to go to sleep, ad'ika."

"Ni kar'tayl gar darasuum, vod." Omega whispered. Hunter smiled and put the datapad down. He hugged Omega close and Omega hugged him back.

"Go to sleep. Don't let Lula bite."

Omega smiled and laid down. Hunter made sure she was comfortable and stayed till she was asleep.

As Omega grew, she still enjoyed her nightly routine with HUnter. ANd Hunter enjoyed doing it with her. He especially enjoyed the nightly routine with his children.

One evening, Hunter kissed Omega's forehead and she smiled. Hunter walked over to his wife and children and smiled. He and Kryndria kissed and Hunter picked up a couple of the kids while Kryndria picked up the others. The oldest opened her eyes and Hunter smiled and kissed her nose.

"Go pick out a story," Hunter whispered. She smiled and grabbed the datapad. Hunter and Kryndria bathed and clothed the 6 children and then put them on their beds. Hunter picked up his little girls and placed them on his lap while Kryndria placed her boys on her lap. Hunter read the story and smiled at the children. "Time for bed, kids."

HUnter and Kyrndria put the kids in their bed and hugged each of them goodnight.

"Go to sleep Omega, Zala, Ken, Kaye, Mia, Micah, and little Taya," Hunter whispered.

"Papa, I can't sleep," Kaye whispered.

"Me neither, papa," Mia answered. Hunter chuckled and hugged his girls.

"One more story and then sleep," Hunter stated. Hunter sat down on the floor and Zala through Micah walked over with their blankets and stuffed toys and sat on his lap. Kryndria held Taya in her arms and Hunter read another story. When he was done, the kids were falling asleep and he smiled. Kryndria handed Taya to Hunter and he caressed her chubby cheek.

"Ni kar'tayl gar darasuum, ad'ika." Hunter whispered. Kryndria took Taya and put her in her crib. Hunter kissed Micah's little head and whispered to him. He handed Micah to Kryndria who put him to bed. Hunter did the same with Mia who was still awake but was very sleepy. "Are you sleepy?"

"Yeah." Mia yawned.

"Go to sleep, ad'ika."

Mia yawned and reached her arms out to Kryndria who picked her up and put her to bed. Hunter whispered to Kaye and smiled when she hugged him back.

"Jate ca, buir," Kaye whispered.

"Jate ca, ad'ika." Hunter chuckled. Kaye let Kryndria pick her up and put her to bed and she was soon asleep. Hunter whispered and hugged Ken who was already asleep. When Kryndria had put him to bed, HUnter stood up with Zala. He hugged her close and whispered to her.

"Ni kar'tayl gar darasuum, buir." Zala whispered.

"Jate ca, ad'ika."

"Jate ca, buir."

Hunter put Zala in her bed and Kryndria walked over and tucked her in. Hunter walked over to Omega and hugged her close.

"Ni kar'tayl gar darasuum, ad'ika." Hunter whispered.

"Ni kar'tayl gar darasuum, vod." Omega replied.

"Jate ca, ad'ika."

"Jate ca, vod."

"DOn't let Lula bite."

Omega giggled and Hunter kissed her forehead. Omega laid back down and Kryndria walked over and tucked Kryndria in.

Hunter and Kryndria walked over to the rocking chair and Hunter held Kryndria in his arms as they watched and listened to the children sleep. Hunter loved each ad'ika very much and he enjoyed every minute that he had with them. Even when they were all grown, the children still enjoyed the nightly routine with their father and even passed it down to their children.
