Armor
Hello, everyone. This prompt was suggested by Celtic maiden14.
Omega's new armor arrived just as she was allowed to go home. She saw the box lying on the floor of her room and she gasped. She looked up at Hunter who was smiling.
"Can I try it on?" Omega asked.
"Go ahead, kid." Hunter chuckled.
"Thanks. Go downstairs with the others."
"Ok."
Hunter walked downstairs and shook his head.
"Where's Omega?" Echo wondered.
"Her armor," Hunter answered. "She's trying it on. She wants to show us at once."
"Oh."
Omega put on her armor and looked in the mirror and smiled. She ran downstairs and ran in the middle of the room.
"How do I look?" Omega wondered.
The boys smiled and Omega giggled.
"It's definitely you," Hunter stated.
"Does it fit?" Tech asked.
"It fits perfectly," Omega said. "It's better now than the pictures."
"Put your helmet on." Crosshair stated. Omega did and he chuckled and patted Omega's head. "Now you look like a mini version of us."
"Yeah, except her armor not painted." Wrecker stated. Omega took off her armor and sighed.
"We could help you if you want," Hunter suggested.
"Nah, I'll do it myself. I want to surprise all of you." Omega replied.
"Ok."
Omega ran upstairs and walked into her room. Hunter looked at her brothers and they shrugged their shoulders.
"I wonder how she'll design her armor." Echo wondered.
"We'll see soon enough." Hunter chuckled.
Omega spent the rest of the day designing her armor. She figured out how to represent most of her brothers, but Echo... she didn't know what to do. She heard a knock on the door and the door opened. Hunter walked in and smiled.
"Hey, kid. You need to take some meds and you need to eat supper." Hunter stated.
"Give me a minute," Omega replied as she finished her drawing. Hunter tried to take a peek, but Omega hid it and smiled up at Hunter. "It's a surprise."
"Oh come on. I'm your favorite brother."
"Sorry, Hunter. That's not going to work on me."
Hunter groaned and walked over to the door. Omega flipped her pages and followed Hunter downstairs for supper. She finished her supper quickly and then walked upstairs to finish her project. She spent all night sketching her armor until she was finally content with the results. She managed to sleep for a few hours and then the next morning, she grabbed what she needed.
Throughout the day, the brothers could hear Omega in her room working on her armor. The brothers tried to occupy their minds by working outside, but it didn't help. Omega walked outside and show her brothers trying to fix the fence surrounding the garden.
"UM, I need more red and gray paint," Omega said.
"SHould be some in the supply closet," Tech replied.
"Ok."
"How's it coming?" Hunter asked.
"I finished the base coats and now, I'm putting the designs on it," Omega replied. "I'll be done tonight."
"That's fast. It took the rest of us days."
"Well, I have had plenty of time to think about it."
Omega ran back inside and Echo chuckled.
"She's dedicated." Echo chuckled.
"Yeah, she is," Hunter replied.
Omega found the paint she needed and she ran back to her room. She sat at her desk and carefully opened the paint jars and painted her armor. When she was done, she smiled and waited for the paint to dry. She paced around her room and kept checking on her armor.
"Omega, time to eat." Echo stated.
"COming." Omega sighed. She ran downstairs and watched the brothers fill their plates with food. She grabbed her plate and filled it and then sat at the table and started eating.
"So, you almost done, kid?" Wrecker wondered.
"Wrecker, patience. It took us more than a week to complete ours." Tech reminded.
"Yeah, but we didn't have any influences. She does." Hunter answered. Echo chuckled and the brothers looked at him.
"When I was a rookie, I served with Rex and a few other guys. After killing some eels on a mission, Rex said that our armor was too clean. He put his hand in the eel's blue blood and put it on my armor. I kept it till the Citadel." Echo chuckled.
"We could always have Rex come and put a blue handprint on your armor."
"You could."
Omega finished eating and she ran upstairs to her room. She grabbed some blue paint and painted her hand and placed it on her armor. She smiled and cleaned her hand off. When her armor was dry, she tried it on and smiled. She walked downstairs and saw her brothers watching something.
"How do I look?" Omega asked. The brothers looked and were surprised. Her armor had pieces of her brothers and her own design. Her armor was a lighter color like Tech's, but still had the Bad Batch's red markings. Her helmet had a red stripe near the top with a skull on the left side. The left side of the helmet had a skull on it. On the right eye, there was a crosshair. On the breastplate, there was a handprint on the right side and then there was a painting of Lula on her left. The lower part of her armor was stripped in white, blue, and orange. On her left arm was 99. Wrecker chuckled and smiled.
"You put Lula on there? I like it." Wrecker exclaimed.
"Yes, and the color scheme is similar to mine. Very creative." Tech complimented.
"ANd the handprint explains why you were in a rush earlier." Echo said.
"It's you, Omega." Hunter chuckled. "You did good."
Everyone looked at Crosshair who quickly wiped a tear from his eye.
"Wow, are you crying?" Wrecker gasped.
"No, I just have something in my eye." Crosshair lied.
"DO you like it?" Omega wondered as she pointed to her right eye.
"Yeah, I guess."
Hunter got up and walked over to a cabinet and opened it. He pulled out a box and walked over to Omega.
"I figured since you wanted to learn how to fight hand to hand, you'd need a weapon," Hunter stated. Omega opened the box and saw that it was a blade like Hunter's.
"I like it." Omega gasped. She twirled it in her hand and put it in its sheath on her left arm. Hunter gave Omega a look and shrugged her shoulders. "I've been practicing."
Omega smiled and giggled. Her armor was now complete. It had pieces of her brothers and herself and it was very special to her.
