Hermione Granger couldn't quite believe what she was hearing.
The man that she had fallen in love with, the one who she had been pining over for a few months had just revealed that he felt the same.
"Hermione?" Charlie asked concerned.
"I'm surprised, but a good kind of surprised. I love you too. I never said anything because I didn't think you would ever feel the same for me," Hermione said so quickly she was nearly out of breath.
"Why would you think that?"
"I'm not pretty, not like Katie, or Audrey. I'm plain, I don't dress up that much, and my idea of a good night is curling up on the sofa with a good book," Hermione answered.
She had always doubted her appeal to the opposite sex after she had found out that a few of her dates had a bet going on as to how long it would take to get her to sleep with them. They had never seemed to want her because of the person she was, all they wanted was to brag that they had been with Harry Potter's best friend.
"You are beautiful, Hermione. I don't care that you don't dress up, or wear makeup all the time. You don't need it. I love you because of who you are. You're kind, caring, intelligent, and fiercely loyal. What more could a man want?" Charlie said, taking her hands in his. "Give me a chance, Hermione. I will make sure that you won't regret it."
"I would never regret giving you a chance, Charlie," Hermione said squeezing his hand.
He slipped one hand out of hers and cupped her cheek before leaning in and pressing his lips to hers. The kiss was sweet and chaste but it was full of promise.
Hermione knew their relationship would be a journey both together and individually. She remembered that her Grandmother had once said that love was the only true adventure as you opened yourself up to someone else and trusted them with your heart. Hermione couldn't help but think that she was right.
