A/N: This is for the RPS numbers game ficathon and 7spells for the prompt Sirius/Hermione, the every kind of pairing challenge for cross-gen, and the more than a name challenge for the character Sirius Black.
Hermione looked at Sirius as if he was mad.
"What's life without a little adventure?" Sirius asked smirking.
"I don't mind adventure, you know that, but flying your motorbike over the North Sea? That's insane," she replied, shaking her head.
"Oh come on, love. It's not that far, especially if we fly from Aberdeen to Bergen," he pleaded with her.
"You've done this before, haven't you?" Hermione asked, raising her eyebrows at him.
"I might have," Sirius admitted.
She looked at him waiting for answers, and soon enough Sirius was telling her.
"I did it with James just after we left Hogwarts. I had already flown from London to Inverness, which was further than the distance between Aberdeen and Bergen. We just wanted to see if it would actually fly over the sea. It took two hours, and we were freezing by the time we got there, but it was really fun. Lily wasn't happy when we got back though. James ended up sleeping on the couch for the rest of the week. She was so mad at him," he said with a wistful smile.
Hermione could tell that it would actually mean something to him if they did this together. It would not only keep his memories of James alive, but give him a chance to make new ones with her. It also helped that Bergen was on her long list of cities she wanted to visit.
"I will do it-"
"That's great, love," he said interrupting her.
"-on the condition we make it a whole weekend," she finished. "If we go there then I really want to explore the city and go to a couple of museums. I don't want to spend two hours on the bike freezing just to go back a few hours later."
"That seems reasonable. Will you be able to get the time off though?" Sirius asked.
"Yes. They owe me some leave, so I'm sure if I gave them a few weeks notice I will be able to get a couple of days off," Hermione informed him.
Sirius walked over to her and kissed her forehead.
"Thank you, Hermione," he said softly.
"It's no problem. You just might have to give several calming draughts though. You know what I'm like with flying," she said biting her lip.
"Then we shall just have to practice before we go. How about we explore the countryside here first? Each time we can go further and further away. We can build up your confidence on the bike, and then go as far, if not further than the ride to Bergen," Sirius suggested.
"That sounds good," she admitted.
Both of them knew it would take a lot of courage for Hermione to try and put her fear of flying aside, but doing it with someone she trusted would no doubt ease her anxiety.
