Rescue

Hello, everyone. This prompt was suggested by The Generic Ficer. Enjoy.

Omega knelt beside Hunter and saw the blast to his chest. She felt his pulse and gasped. Hunter was dead. Omega looked up at Cad Bane who shot her, but it wasn't a stun. Omega gasped as she felt pain erupt through her chest. She gasped and the pain became so much that she couldn't breathe. She felt her eyes close and she was afraid.

She was on the craft she had found. She looked all over for the Marauder but didn't see it. She could see Cad Bane and Fennec Shand following in their own vessels. She heard an explosion and saw that her ship had been shot. Omega gasped and began to cry.

"Hunter! Hunter, save me!" Omega explained.

"Omega now is not the time to rest. We have many procedures to do. Come lie down." Nala Se stated. Omega looked around and saw that she was on Kamino. Despite her protest, her legs walked to the table and laid down. Machines and tubes were hooked up to her and she saw a pinkish fluid being pumped through her body. Omega cried out in pain and fear.

"No! Please! Make it stop! Please!" Omega begged.

Hunter heard screaming and he sat up.

"Omega." Hunter gasped. He looked around the ship and saw the curtain to the Gunner's Nest closed. Hunter jumped out of his chair and saw Echo and Wrecker sit up in their bunks. Hunter pushed opened the curtain and saw Omega thrashing and whimpering in her sleep. "Omega, it's alright. You're safe."

"Hunter, save me! DOn't die on me!" Omega sobbed.

Hunter picked Omega up and cradled her in his arms as he shushed her. He caressed her cheek and it wasn't long before Omega gasped and sat up. She looked around and saw Hunter. She threw her arms around hUnter's neck and sobbed.

"You died. I watched you die. Then... then he shot me. And I died. Then you didn't save me. I died again and you weren't there. Then I was back on Kamino and Nala Se hooked me up to these machines and it hurt so much." Omega rambled.

"I'm alive, Omega and so are you. We saved you and you are not going back to Kamino. Kamino's gone." Hunter replied.

"I know, but I'm still scared."

"We all are Omega. All of us are afraid of being killed or being experimented on. We're all terrified of being alone. We're here right now. There's nothing to fear."

Omega nodded and continued to sob. Hunter hushed Omega and sat in a more comfortable position. Echo walked up with a canteen and handed it to Hunter.

"'mega, you need to drink," Hunter stated. Omega took the canteen and took a few sips before handing it back to Hunter. Hunter grabbed Lula and Trooper and placed them close by where Omega could see. He grabbed the blanket and wrapped it around Omega and rubbed Omega's back.

"Stay with me, Hunter," Omega begged.

"Always."

Omega relaxed in Hunter's arms and she let him rock her from side to side. It wasn't long before Omega was asleep. He looked to Echo and nodded.

"Get some sleep. I got her." Hunter whispered. Echo nodded and walked back to bed.

The next night, Omega had a similar nightmare, but it quickly turned into a night terror. Hunter jumped up into the nest and watched Omega carefully. He tried to comfort her, but Omega was too caught up to be comforted. Hunter finally grabbed Omega and she woke up and looked at Hunter.

"Hunter?" Omega gasped.

"It's me, Omega. It's me." Hunter replied. Omega's face turned green and Hunter jumped out of the next and grabbed an empty bucket. He placed it under Omega's head just as she was about to puke. Omega's stomach let loose and Hunter rubbed her back and whispered comforting words. When Omega was done, Hunter pulled her into his arms. Omega heaved and wheezed shakily and Hunter rubbed her back and continued to whisper to her. Tech handed Hunter a cloth and a canteen. Hunter convinced Omega to clean out her mouth and drink some water. Hunter cleaned Omega's face and then put everything to the side so he could rest against the wall with Omega in his arms.

"Omega, was it the same?" Hunter wondered. Omega nodded, but that was it. Hunter looked to his brothers who were looking at them in concern. "Omega, I know what's going on inside you right now? I've been through it too. You want to be happy and move on, but there's a part of you that can't and it wears you down. You don't know what you want or what to do. You're barely able to accept comfort. You just want to hide from everyone and everything. That's how you feel, isn't it?"

Omega nodded and Hunter could smell the tears in Omega's eyes.

"It's alright, Omega," Hunter whispered. He pulled her closer and rocked her from side to side. Omega began to sob and Hunter motioned for the others to come sit with them. Wrecker climbed up and climbed over Hunter and Omega. Echo climbed up and sat between the door and Hunter. Tech climbed up and motioned for Wrecker and Hunter to move their legs slightly. Tech rested against their legs and he did research. The batch sat there for a long while. Wrecker grabbed Lula and Tropper and held onto them till Omega needed them. Echo covered Omega with a blanket and it wasn't long before Omega had calmed and fallen asleep.

"Poor kid. She can't seem to get a goodnight's sleep." Echo whispered.

"We all went through a phase like this. Roughest time of our lives." Hunter answered. "We just need to be here for her."

The next night, Omega walked into the cockpit to wish Hunter goodnight.

"Omega, you can come sleep on my lap if you need to. Nightmares seem to disappear when you're next to someone." Hunter suggested.

"Ok," Omega murmured. She left the room and rushed back in with her stuffed toys and a blanket. She climbed onto Hunter's lap and Hunter wrapped the blanket around her and held her close. It wasn't long before Omega had fallen asleep. When Hunter's shift was over, he continued to hold Omega who hadn't stirred a bit. When he woke the next morning, he was pleased to see that Omega was still asleep. He knew that one day, she would no longer need him to hold her as she slept and he knew that one day, she would no longer need him or the others. SO he spent the little time that he had giving her happier memories.
