Hold On
Hello, everyone. This prompt was suggested by KoalaTakingNotes. Enjoy.
The last thing Omega remembered was an explosion. She didn't know who caused it or what she was even doing. When she woke, she was in an imperial cell. She noticed that her hands were handcuffed and there were two guards. The door opened and a masked woman walked in.
"Who... who are you?" Omega wondered.
"I am an inquisitor. My name does not matter. I wish to know the location of your brothers." The inquisitor stated.
"I won't tell you anything."
"Oh, I think you will."
The inquisitor waved her hand and Omega became paralyzed. She looked around and saw that she was in a temple. Across from her was herself.
"What is this place?" Omega wondered.
"It is our mind which will break if you don't tell the inquisitor what she wants." Mirror Omega said.
"No, I will not betray my brothers."
"They'll come for us anyways. We should tell the inquisitor what she wants."
"No. I won't. Besides, even if I did, they're probably gone."
Omega felt a jolt and saw that she was back in her cell.
"Tell me their location." The inquisitor ordered.
"Never," Omega stated.
"Then I will break you."
Omega was thrown back into her mind where she fought for control.
"You must tell the inquisitor." Mirror Omega yelled.
"No! I will never bend or break. They are my brothers." Omega stated.
"What about when you were on Saleucmi? Hunter tried to send you away."
"Only because he loved me and didn't want me to live the life that they live. Besides, he worried that he would fail me."
"Then he broke his promise. He said you would never have to return to Kamino." Mirror Omega spat.
"That wasn't his decision. If it was, I wouldn't have gone back." Omega answered.
"The girl is very strong," Tarkin stated.
"Yes, but she will break." The inquisitor hissed.
"Patience. In time, she will wear thin and she will break. Let her rest for an hour. Then start again."
"Yes, sir."
"I need not tell you what will happen if you should... fail this task."
"Yes, sir."
Tarkin left the room and the inquisitor waved her hand. Omega slumped to the floor asleep. The inquisitor left the room and waited.
An hour later, she returned and woke Omega with a kick to the ribs. Omega groaned and rolled onto her back.
"You will tell me your brothers' location." The inquisitor ordered.
"Never." Omega spat.
"You will."
"Never."
The inquisitor waved her hand and Omega was back in her mind.
"We should tell her where they are. We could die if we don't." Mirror Omega said.
"Then I'll die," Omega answered.
"But it'll break their hearts."
"They'll blame the Empire. I will not betray them."
"They will understand. We are just a child."
"But I am older than them. I was created before them. In a way, I should be stronger than them. They will rescue me and I will get out of here."
Several hours later, Omega was growing very tired, hungry, and dehydrated, but she still held on.
"FOr all they know, we're dead. They will not come to rescue us." Mirror Omega stated.
"No. I will not talk." Omega answered.
"Then I will."
"No!"
Omega threw herself at herself and they fell to the ground. They wrestled and mirror Omega managed to push Omega away. She stood up and ran for the door, but Omega grabbed her and stopped her.
"I will not break. You are weak. You are not me. You are the mind trick that the Inquisitor is using on me. I will not bow down to you. I will not break. I will stop you even if it kills me." Omega spat. Mirror Omega managed to kick Omega and the two started fighting again. Mirror Omega grabbed the door handle only for Omega to grab her arm and twist it behind her back. Omega pinned herself down and looked down at herself. "Show yourself. Show me who you really are."
"I don't understand. I'm you. I'm the voice in your head that tells you to hide and ignore your gut. The gut fails and so does the heart. Only I am right." Mirror Omega spilled. Mirror Omega managed to break free, but Omega grabbed her by the neck.
"YOu are not necessary. You were never needed and you will never be needed. You are the voice of a coward. I will not stand for cowardice in my mind. I will destroy you." Omega stated. Omega remembered what her brothers taught her. Omega broke her own neck and watched as her mirror image fell to the ground dead. Omega looked at the door.
"Omega? Omega, what have they done to you?" Hunter gasped.
"Hunter?!" Omega gasped. She opened the door and felt free again.
The batch broke into the facility and did what needed to be found. Tech and Echo found Omega's cell and they were greeted by the Inquisitor. Crosshair stayed at a distance and was not seen by the Inquisitor. This allowed Crosshair to take the necessary shot. The inquisitor fell to the ground dead and the brothers rushed into the cell. Hunter saw Omega on the ground and he lifted her into his arms. He caressed her face and checked for injures.
"Omega? Omega, what have they done to you?" Hunter gasped. Omega opened her eyes and looked up at Hunter.
"Hunter, you found me. I knew you would." Omega rasped weakly.
"Yeah kid, we found you. How do you feel?"
"HUngry... tired."
"Sleep. We'll protect you."
Omega nodded and fell asleep.
"How is she?" Echo questioned.
"She's exhausted," Hunter answered. "Let's get out of here."
The batch managed to get out of the base without incident and soon, they were safe. Hunter held Omega in his arms and waited for her to wake.
"Hunter lay her down on the bunk." Echo suggested.
"No. She needs her sleep. This is the best way for her to get her rest." Hunter whispered.
"Nightmares?"
"Yes."
A few hours later, Omega woke up in Hunter's arms. She was covered in a blanket and Hunter was pacing the ship. Omega opened her eyes and looked up at Hunter.
"Hunter?" Omega wondered.
"Omega, how do you feel?" Hunter asked.
"Better. Just hungry and thirsty."
"What did they do to you?"
"She was an inquisitor. She pulled a mind trick on me. She wanted to know where you were. It didn't work. I... I didn't break."
"I know, kid. We know."
"Yeah, you'd destroy your own mind before even thinking about betraying us." Crosshair scoffed.
"I almost did." Omega chuckled.
"Eat."
Crosshair handed Omega a ration bar and Omega took a bite and relaxed. She was happy to be home.
THE END
Not one of my best, but I haven't watched Rebels just yet so I'm not too familiar with the Inquisitors.
