A/N: This was for the rarepair_shorts prompt 'you should have warned me'.

"You should have warned me she was going to be there, Sirius! I looked like a complete idiot when Rita Skeeter asked how I felt that she was there tonight," said Hermione as her voice rose with every word.

"I'm sorry, I should have told you. I just didn't want you to be upset," Sirius replied softly.

"I know you don't, but it doesn't change the way I feel about her," Hermione said calming down a little.

"You know that most people don't trust her now, not after what she did to you," he said stepping closer to her.

Hermione nodded as she wrapped her arms around his waist and laid her head on his chest.

"If I never saw her again it would be too soon. It was one thing to break up my marriage, but to go after you too," she shook her head not wanting to think about ending the sentence.

Lifting her chin up with his finger, Sirius said fiercely, "I would never ever do that to you, and she knows that now. She knows that nothing she does will make me leave your side,"

"I never thought you would."

Hermione leant up and kissed him passionately as she desperately tried to forget the woman who tried to destroy her life.
