Jealousy

Hello, everyone. It is now May and as promised, I am opening prompt suggestions again. I am accepting from Tumblr, , and AO3. Here are the rules…

Every person gets 7 requests. And if you use anonymous, you must have a tag name or something that makes it unique. (example: "prompt" -jam8) Any request without a tag name will NOT be accepted. The request limit is so that I don't get burned out and so that requests get written sooner and more effectively.

All prompts must be teen-rated. No NSFW or anything of that nature.

NO clonecest and no reader insert.

This prompt was suggested by locitapurplepink of Tumblr.

Omega and Hera Kept were walking to school when they saw someone run-up. Omega gasped and rushed to the person.

"Hera!" Omega exclaimed.

"Omega, it is good to see you." Hera Syndulla giggled as the two hugged.

"What are you doing here?"

"My father came to meet with a family friend of his. I'll be staying on Abydoa for a few months."

"That's great. Come on, I want you to meet someone."

Omega grabbed Hera Syndulla's hand and dragged her over to meet Hera Kept.

"Hera Syndulla, meet Hera Kept. Hera Kept, meet Hera Syndulla." Omega introduced.

"Nice to meet you, Hera." Hera Syndulla giggled.

"Nice to meet you, too, Hera." Hera Kept answering.

"Come on, we'll be late for school," Omega said. The girls ran to school as happy as can be.

After school, the girls ran to Omega's house to play. Marla saw the girls playing and she walked up to Hunter and wrapped her arm around Hunter's waist.

"Who's that?" Marla wondered.

"That's Hera Syndulla. Omega's friend. They met on Ryloth a while back. We helped her get her parents back. Her mother died a little while ago and her father wants her someplace safe for a while. He has a family friend here. Omega's staying with them." Hunter replied.

"Two Heras. That'll be interesting."

The girls spent almost every chance they had together. Omega spent time with both Heras. SOmetimes with both or sometimes with one or the other. She thought everything was going well, but she didn't notice how the Heras began to look at each other.

One afternoon, Hera Kept was talking about what her brother and sister did.

"Paige managed to get into the paint and he covered our sister in paint." Hera Kept said.

"Oh, Paige. He's so troublesome." Omega giggled. "Wrecker put a hole in the wall yesterday. He was walking downstairs and he fell and managed to put his foot in the wall on the stairway."

"Brothers."

Neither girls noticed how Hera Syndulla was rolling her eyes and shaking her head.

"Is your father still taking you hunting?" Omega wondered.

"Yeah. Is HUnter taking you hunting?" Hera Kept answered.

"Yeah. We leave in the morning."

Chopper started grunting and everyone looked to see that a bird had landed on Chopper.

"Oh, Chopper, don't move. You'll scare the bird." Hera Syndulla warned. Chopper didn't listen and he swung the bird off. He laughed only for the bird to poop on him. He swung around again grunting angrily. Hera Syndulla and Omega giggled. "I warned you, Chopper."

Hera Syndulla cleaned Chopper off and they continued walking.

"My father is letting Chen, the woman I'm staying with, to give me flying lessons. I start tomorrow." Hera Syndulla said.

"That's great. Tech said that when we go on our next mission, he'll let me fly." Omega replied.

"I can't wait till I'm a pilot."

"And we can get our own ship and fly through the galaxy exploring worlds and helping people."

"I wish I was old enough already."

"Me too."

Neither girls saw how Hera Kept looked at the two sadly.

A few days later, there was tension between both Heras, but Omega didn't notice it.

"So, what do you girls want to do after school?" Omega wondered.

"We should go to the lake and go swimming." Hera Kept suggested.

"I want to go climb some trees." Hera Syndulla replied.

"Well, I know where there's a good lake with trees for us to climb in," Omega suggested. The Heras looked at each other and huffed, but agreed.

After school, they went to the lake and Hera Kept dove into the lake and started swimming while Hera Syndulla climbed the nearest tree.

"Come on, Omega." The Heras said.

"Coming." Omega giggled. Omega climbed to the first branch and then walked out on the limb and jumped into the lake and made a big splash. The girls in the lake laughed, but Hera Syndulla huffed.

The girls played for a while and then sat in the shade.

"Dad's gonna take me into town and let me get my own bow." Hera Kept said. "Then he's gonna take all of us out to dinner. Oh, and Kelly took her first steps yesterday."

"That's great." Omega gasped.

"And then Paige knocked her over."

"Paige is so mean."

"Don't I know it. He stole my datapad this morning and threw it out the window on the second floor."

"What?!"

"Yep."

"Must be nice to have a family." Hera Syndulla huffed. Chopper grunted and grabbed a fistful of leaves and spun around spraying them onto the girls.

"Chopper, no." Hera Syndulla groaned. She chased after Chopper and finally grabbed him and stopped him. When she turned around, she saw Hera Kept and Omega giggling and she huffed. "I have to get home."

"Oh, let's walk home together," Omega suggested. Hera Kept sighed but stood up and grabbed her stuff. When she looked up, she saw Omega and Hera Syndulla giggling at Chopper.

"Father doesn't know this, but I'm saving up to buy my own ship. I've been able to get some jobs around here." Hera Syndulla said. "But I have quite a bit of money back home in my secret place."

"Must be nice to have a big house." Hera Kept muttered. Hera Syndulla looked back and glared.

"Must be nice to have a father that cares."

"Must be nice to have a droid."

The girls stopped and Hera Syndulla faced Hera Kept.

"At least your brother and mother are still alive. AT least your home is safe from war." Hera Syndulla spat.

"At least you have rich friends and family to turn to. AT least you have the chance to put money aside and save it for a ship that you don't need." Hera Kept spat back.

"Stop it! Both of you." Omega exclaimed. The girls looked at Omega who was sad. "I thought you were better than this, but you're not. I'm going home."

Omega ran away before the Heras had a chance to stop her.

"This is your fault. You shouldn't have come here." Hera Kept spat.

"I could say the same about you." Hera Syndulla spat. The girls walked away jealous of each other.

Omega ran home crying. She ran in and saw Hunter and Marla in the living room cleaning up.

"Omega, what's wrong?" Hunter wonder.d

"I hate them. I hate both of them so much. I wish I never met them." Omega sobbed.

"Who?"

"Hera. Both of them. I thought they were my friends, but I was so wrong."

Omega ran upstairs before Marla and Hunter could stop her. Marla was about to walk upstairs after Omega, but Hunter stopped her.

"Give her a bit to calm down," Hunter stated.

"What do you think happened?" Marla wondered.

"She'll tell us. She just needs to go to her comfort space and relax for a moment. When she calms down, you can talk to her."

"Me? No, I can't. You're her brother."

"But I was never her age in a normal way. I also didn't have friends. And I didn't deal with the day-to-day stress that she deals with. Besides, I'm not a woman. There are some things that I can try to understand, but I'll never experience. She needs someone who has experienced it."

"I see what you mean."

A little while later, Marla walked upstairs to Omega's room and saw Omega's door open. She leaned in the doorway and saw Omega holding Trooper and Lula closely as she sat on the bench in front of her window.

"Mind if I come in?" Marla wondered.

"I don't mind," Omega murmured. Marla walked in and sat next to Omega and looked out the window. Marla saw that Omega was watching an eagle's nest and Marla smiled.

"Eagles are my favorite birds. They're truly magnificent." Marla replied.

"I like watching them sit in the trees. Or flying through the air."

Marla sighed and placed a hand on Omega's shoulder.

"Omega, what's wrong?" Marla wondered.

"Both Heras got into a fight and… I don't know why." Omega answered.

"Over what?"

"Hera Syndulla was jealous that the other Hera had a family and that her father spent time with her. Hera Kept was jealous that Hera Syndulla had a droid and money and opportunities."

Omega explained what happened and Marla listened.

"Did I do something wrong? Why would they behave this way?" Omega questioned.

"Oh, honey. You did nothing wrong. You did everything you could do right. Jealous has a way of being sneaky, but it loves to lash out. Both Heras allowed it to control their hearts and they ended up hurting you in the process. Hunter and I will help you and we'll talk to both Heras. This behavior can lead to a lot of horrible things. I don't want that to happen." Marla explained. Omega nodded and Marla rubbed her back. "Why don't you take a nap? I find that a nap often helps me when I'm having a hard day."

"Ok," Omega replied. Omega went to her bed and laid down. Marla watched Omega till she was asleep. When Omega was asleep, Marla closed the door to Omega's room and walked downstairs, and saw the brothers in the kitchen and dining room.

"What happened?" Hunter asked.

"Jealousy. The Heras were jealous of each other and they finally lashed out hurting Omega." Marla sighed.

"What were they jealous of?"

"Hera Syndulla comes from a rich family. She has money and opportunities that Hera Kept doesn't have. She also has a droid. Hera Kept has a father that shows her love and a mother and a brother. SOmething Hera Syndulla has lost. Hera Kept also could leave her homeworld and go someplace safe. She has no ties to her former planet. For Hera Syndulla, her family and her heritage are on Ryloth. That's her people. There are probably other reasons, but those were the ones they spatted about. Hunter, we should probably do something."

"From what I hear, the best thing to do is leave them alone. They are at that age." Tech stated.

"That age to what? Get away with hurting people? I'm sorry, I'm fed up with that excuse. Those girls are way old enough to know better. Omega put time, effort, and even money into making sure that both of those girls felt loved and welcomed. And they repaid her by spating at each other instead of discussing things civilly. One doesn't have parents that'll do something about this. The only one, her parents are off-world for the day. Both need to be spoken to." Marla explained.

"I'll get Hera Syndulla. You get Hera Kept. Meet at the crossroads." Hunter sighed.

Hunter and Marla found the Heras and took them to the crossroads.

"Why is she here?" Hera Kept spat.

"For the same reason, you are," Hunter stated. "I have known both of you for a while and I thought both of you were well-behaved, well-mannered, and logical girls, but I guess I was wrong. Both of you hurt Omega who has put a lot of effort into spending time with both of you. And you decide to repay her by being jealous over each other small things."

"You don't understand." Hera Syndulla replied.

"No, I understand clearly. I understand that both of you have had a rough life, but have you once thought about Omega? She hasn't had it easy either." Hunter stated.

"Both of you are very different." Marla said. Then she looked at Hera Kept. "You're human."

Hunter looked at Hera Syndulla.

"You're twi'lek," Hunter stated.

"You're tan," Marla stated to Hera Kept.

"You're green."

"You moved someplace new."

"Your home is still at war."

"Your family is alive and well."

"Your mother and brother are gone."

"You have a sister."

"You have a droid."

"You come from a very poor community."

"You come from a richer community."

"These are a few of the things you choose to focus on and you focused on the negative side of that," Marla stated.

"Omega doesn't have a mother or a father. She has many brothers and most don't know that she exists. She spent her years locked in a lab on an ocean planet. She was nothing, but an experiment. When she was freed from that, she didn't have a home. Her friends were spread out and were few. She had us and a couple of droids. Her room was the gunner's nest of a ship. She spent her days on the run from bounty hunters. When we moved here, that changed. All three of you have had peace to grow and thrive here." Hunter explained.

"Omega could have looked at your lives like you look at each other's lives. No one would have blamed her for being jealous, but she looked at your differences in a good way. She also focused on what you all had in common. You all live in a time of war."

"You all grew up on planets that were at war."

"You're all girls."

"About the same age."

"You all like school and learning."

"You all have or had a brother."

Hunter looked at Hera Syndulla.

"You and Omega both want to be pilots. You like the idea of flying." Hunter stated. Marla looked at Hera Kept.

"You and Omega like to explore planets. Feel the dirt under your feet." Marla said.

"You both have droids."

"You both live here on Abydoa."

"But both of you Heras have something very special in common and that's Omega. Omega cares about both of you and instead of discussing your feelings in a kind and civil manner, you spat at each other with her in the middle. Now, she's upset and confused, and hurt. She thought both of you were her friends. Now, she wants nothing to do with you." Hunter explained. "I want both of you to go home and think about this and I don't want to see either of you until you have thought about your actions and apologize to Omega. She did not have to spend day in and day out with you girls. She had many opportunities to hang out with other friends or with us, but she chose both of you instead. Now, she's regretting that decision. Do you regret spending time with her?"

Hera Syndulla and Hera Kept looked at each other sadly.

"I know, Hera. I shouldn't have said those mean things. I was wrong. Very wrong." Hera Syndulla apologized.

"I'm sorry too. I was just as wrong and I shouldn't have lashed out like I did." Hera Kept.

"Go home. Think about your actions. Get a goodnight's sleep and then tomorrow, get your act together. Make things right." Marla stated. Both Heras nodded and went home. Marla and Hunter grabbed each other's hands and looked at each other.

"Well, do you think they'll be ok?" Marla wondered.

"I hope so. I think they definitely learned a lesson, but whether they truly mean what they say and make a change, we won't know." Hunter sighed.

The next day, Omega saw both Heras at school and she walked away from them.

"Omega, wait." Hera Kept exclaimed. Omega stopped and looked at her friends sadly.

"Omega, we're sorry for what we said. We were very rude and disrespectful to each other and to you. We hurt you when we were aiming at each other." Hera Syndulla replied.

"We didn't mean to hurt you, but we did. We've made amends with each other, but now we have to make amends with you. Do you forgive us?"

"Of course I do," Omega answered. The girls hugged and they played and spent time together.

That afternoon, Omega went home and when she saw Marla and Hunter, she ran up to them and hugged them close.

"Thank you." Omega thanked.

"I take it everything went well," Marla answered.

"Yeah, it did."

"Good."

For the next few weeks, the girls played and spent time with each other taking in all the moments they could. Sadly, it was time for Hera Syndulla to return home, but the girls continued to communicate with each other peacefully and gently for a long time to come.
