"Oh Roy!"
Roy sighed. Not this again. "What do you want, Maes."
A familiar figure walked into Roy's office. It was Maes, and he had a folder in his hand. "I've finished," he said cheerfully, holding out the folder for Roy to take, "All the paperwork you wanted me to do is done!"
Roy was surprised that Maes was actually doing something productive for once, but he didn't question it. He had no clue what was running through that man's mind, and he preferred to keep it that way. "Thanks," he said as he reached out to grab the folder, not even bothering to look up from his paperwork.
At that moment an evil look appeared in Maes' eyes. He grinned, and as Roy reached out to grab the folder he pulled it just out of reach. Roy looked up at Maes and stared at the man, then reached out for the folder again. Maes pulled it just out of his reach again. Roy's eye twitched. "Maes."
Maes tried his best to look innocent. "Yeeeees?"
"Give me the folder."
"What's the magic word?"
"Now, Maes."
Maes pouted. Usually he had fun poking at Roy until he blew a gasket, but Roy wasn't being nearly responsive enough to keep his attention. "Aww, c'mon," he said, waving the folder in front of Roy's face, "You're going to have to do better than that."
Roy gritted his teeth. He hated it when Maes got into these weird moods. "Maes," he said, the anger starting to show in his voice, "Give me that folder now."
Maes finally gave up and held the folder out for Roy. Roy snatched the folder away, then set it down on his desk. Nothing else was said between the two men for some time, so Maes took that as his cue to leave. Before he left, though, he grabbed Roy's pencil cup, and then he ran out of the office and down the hallway. As he ran away he could hear Roy yell out angrily, "Maes! Get back here now!" and he couldn't help but laugh.
