"Are you kidding me!" Rabastan exclaimed from the other room.
Hermione walked through to find her husband hopping around surrounded by their son's toys. They littered the floor like a tornado had gone through the room.
"Everything okay?" she asked, trying not to laugh.
"Fine, I just stepped on one a bit of Elijah's lego. It bloody hurt,"he told her.
She chuckled.
"It's not funny," he said.
"My mum always said that you're not a parent unless you've stepped on some lego, or some sort of toy."
"Why couldn't he leave his soft toys out instead," Rabastan grumbled.
"He's three, Rab. It's part of being a kid. Perhaps you could try and teach him to put stuff away?" Hermione suggested.
"That's a good idea. Dolph and I never got to play like this so it's not normal for me," he replied.
Hermione's heart twinged at her husband's confession.
She knew that he and Rodolphus had a strict upbringing, but she never quite realised just how much they had missed out on.
At least he can experience it with Elijah and the next one,"' she thought unconsciously rubbing her belly.
She hadn't told him yet, but knew Rabastan would be ecstatic to have another baby. Even if he did have to step on Lego again.
