When Fives first saw Echo, he couldn't believe it. He had watched his brother die and now here he was alive. When Fives saw Echo, he didn't recognize him. His brother was no longer fully human. Now, he was more machine than man. His goofy and happy personality was gone. Instead, Echo was more serious and quiet.
The first time Echo saw Fives, he was just as shocked. He had been told that his brother was dead and gone. Yet, here he was alive and well.
The two stood in shock and the others watched in confusion. Rex said he had a surprise for them. Mainly Echo. Now, Echo and Fives stood in shock.
"Echo, want to introduce us?" Hunter prodded. Echo snapped out of his thoughts and smiled sadly. He looked at Fives and walked up to him.
"Is it really you? Are you really alive?" Echo wondered.
"Yeah, vod, it's me. What… what happened to you?" Fives replied.
"It's a long story. How are you… Rex told me you died."
"IT's a… long story. Who are your friends?"
Echo looked at his batch and smiled.
"They're my new batch. You'll like them." Echo said. He walked back over to the batch with Fives and smiled. "This is Fives. He's my twin. Fives, meet Hunter, Crosshair, Wrecker, Tech, and Omega."
"It's good to meet all of you," FIves replied. Omega walked up to him and looked him in the eyes.
"Echo said you died," Omega stated.
"Well, I should be dead, but I'm not."
"Let's go home. We can talk about this on the way. It's not safe here. The EMpire's coming." Hunter warned.
"He's right." FIves sighed. They all went back to the Marauder and got on board and took off.
"Tup went crazy one mission and killed a Jedi. After being kidnapped by the Separatists and Skywalker, Rex, and I saved him, I went to Kamino with Tup and stayed with him. Nala Se wanted to kill him and examine him saying that it was just a virus. Shaak Ti knew there was more to it. SHe didn't want Tup to be killed. We were in separate rooms, but I could see and hear what was going on until this droid came in. AZI- 3 something. I knew Nala Se was hiding something and I was right. It was the chips. I managed to examine Tup and I found it and removed it. His had malfunctioned. Sadly… he did after the surgery, but he woke up briefly and said that it was over. All the dreams and visions… it was all over. They found me and tried to hide me away, but I escaped and I found that… they installed the chips in the stage 3 development. Shaak Ti agreed to take me to Coruscant to testify, but on the way, I was injected with something and the Emperor faked an attack when I got to Coruscant. I ran and tried to stay hidden. I… went to 79's and found Kix and I told him to tell Rex and Skywalker to meet me in an old warehouse. They did but so did the Corries. The drug had started taking effect and I did have a blaster. FOx shot me and I thought I was dead. I woke up several hours later and there was a man. I… don't know his name, but he helped me get to safety. He never told me what happened or his name. Since then, I've been doing what I can to lay low, but still knock the EMpire down a peg or two." Fives explained. He looked at Echo who was in tears. Fives placed a hand on Echo's shoulder. "Echo, I'm fine. There's nothing to worry about. What happened to you?"
"I was taken by the Techno Union and I was used. They kept me in a tube and they hacked into my mind and took everything I had and used it against the Republic. For a year, I was used and forced to give up tactics killing many of our brothers. During the siege of Anaxes, Rex and Cody realized that it was the tactics Echo and I created that the Separatists knew about. SO, Cody brought in these boys to help and they went to figure out what was happening. They broke into a tower and they found my signal from Skako Minor. I was able to tell them my CT number. Cody had been injured during the mission so Rex was the one who took the batch to Skako Minor to find my signal and put an end to it. They found me and saved me. We got out of there alive and saved the people there, but when we got back to ANaxes… I didn't feel right. You were gone and so were Tup, DOgma, and Ahsoka. After a mission to stop the Separatist forces on Anaxes, HUnter offered me a place here. Rex told me that they were a fine squad and that if I felt my place was here with them, then I should join them. SO, I did." Echo explained.
"And we're glad to have him." Wrecker stated.
"He's a needed part of this squad and this family." Hunter agreed.
Fives smiled and looked at Echo who smiled humbly. Fives looked at Echo's head and arm sadly.
"I wish I had gone back to look for you." Fives sighed.
"I'm glad you didn't. You would've been captured. Besides, I'm fine. I've learned to deal with my new body." Echo replied.
"Does it… hurt?"
"Sometimes, but Tech's been building new prosthetics for me and finding ways to help the pain. I'm getting better every day. And the batch helps me in different ways."
"I'm sorry about your injuries. I should have tried to stop you."
"Fives, it would have happened no matter what. I'm fine now and so are you."
"Yeah, I… I guess we are."
"Fives, are you going to stay with us?" Omega wondered.
"I… uh… don't know," Fives replied.
"We could use another member. And you and Echo are twins." Hunter stated. "We'd like to have you here, Fives."
"Then I guess I'll stay."
Fives stayed with the batch and quickly found his place in the squad. Echo and Fives slowly came to terms with what happened to each other and they started to thrive.
