The next chapter is up! Enjoy :)
Time seems to slow to a crawl when you're stuck onboard a ship. To Mia, it felt like an unending plane ride. She's starting to wonder if she will ever step foot on Earth again or any oxygen-based planet for that matter. Because apparently, there are several planets that are oxygen based according to some of the talks Frieza had with her.
Mia's unsure what was weirder. The fact that he never ran out of things to talk to with her or the fact that she's even talking to him. But then, one can only give someone the silent treatment for so long before they feel the need to start socializing again.
She's been on the ship with him now for about eight months. And Mia still feels like she is no closer to understanding the crazy tyrant. When she first came, Frieza treated her like straight up shit. He would hit her and shove her about whenever she said or did something to piss him off. And she could never forget the times he raped her whenever he felt like it. All those times were rough and painful. Except for the last time, when they were alone in the Main Room.
A time Mia wishes she'd forget because she was still pissed on how he manipulated her body and got her aroused. She could also tell that he thoroughly enjoyed that session more than his previous ones when he had his way with her. That was why it was surprising that he hasn't forced himself on her again since then. She still doesn't doubt that he won't do it again. But she also won't deny that Frieza seems to act a little more civil with her as of late.
They were currently in his room; he was looking over some important stuff at his desk on a holographic digital feed. To Mia, they appeared to be some kind of documents. Of course, she couldn't read them because they were in some strange alien language. While she was over on the couch with a small tablet in front of her. Yes, he finally allowed her to have something to cure her unending boredom whenever he had work to do at his desk in his room.
Only after she chewed his ear off about it for the last few months. The tyrant asked one of his Techs to give him one of their tablets for the human. Since then, his headaches haven't been as frequent since he gave her something to play with. He could've simply broken her jaw to keep her from prattling on about things. The reason he hasn't is because he didn't want any conversations they did have to be one sided with just him doing all the talking.
The tablet had some games on it that Mia could play. But even then, it gets tiresome not having much to do. Mia lightly tosses the tablet onto the couch next to her and leans back with a sigh. Her attention is drawn to the window and the view outside. Space, nothing but endless space. It was like being in a constant black void, despite its seldom spectacular views of swirling galaxies, shooting stars, and the occasional meteor every now and then.
Let's not forget the variety of planets that they pass from time to time or hover over when he goes down to them with some of his Elites. Or the fact that he destroys some of them when things don't go smoothly or according to plan. At least they have been very few and far between at this point. Though it be better he not destroy any worlds at all.
Frieza had just finished looking over documents in regard to Planet Hultar's technological resources and starting a trade there. With their advancements in biotech it will become invaluable to the Empire's World Trade Organization.
He typed in a few more demands that will be sent out to a few of his generals within the next hour. Before he pulled away and turned his chair around. That's when the tyrant noticed the human woman was gazing absentmindedly out the window with a glum look on her face. Something that happens quite often and when he inquires about it, Mia tends to not want to talk about it.
Always changing topics or going silent. And he knows if he keeps pushing for answers, she will just shut down completely. Like that night after she awoke from that torturous nightmare. Frieza of course had a vague idea on what it was about, seeing as he heard her talk or somewhat shout in her sleep. He already knew from the start that she was abused, the scars were enough confirmation of that.
He was a bit surprised when he learned from that night that it was her parents that were her abusers. Even he will admit, he had a pretty shitty family, and not the best upbringing, curtesy of his father. Still, King Cold didn't torture or mutilate his son's body. Not like Mia's parents did to hers. And for that, Frieza didn't blame her for being mistrusting of others or refusing to open up about a very painful part of her life.
Still, he won't stop trying to find out a little more about the headstrong young woman. Who surprisingly didn't break yet under him. It's one of the things he found intriguing about her. Most would've lost it or begged for death a long time ago after half the things he'd put someone through. Yet, she has done neither within the time she has been here. Which was now a little more than half a year.
There was ongoing silence for the next few moments. Before Frieza finally decided to speak.
"It's obvious there is a lot on your mind. So, what's wrong?" He asks.
Mia slowly turns her light blue gaze from the window to him. She opened her mouth to say something. When he cut her off.
"And don't say; 'Nothing' like you mainly tend to do." Frieza added.
She closed her mouth and pursed her lips. And here she was about to avoid answering this question for what had to be the hundredth time. Something this time tells her he's not going to back down this time.
"I'm just tired." She pauses. "So sick and tired of being stuck aboard this ship day in and day out."
She also wanted to ask when the hell he would send her back to Earth. If she weren't worried about what his answer would be. Mia sadly seemed fairly certain he will never allow her to go back. And that thought made a lump form in her throat and tears come to her eyes. Something he didn't miss.
"I understand, I don't miss the fact that you have been very restless now for a while. Which is only natural when one is confined to a limited area such as a ship for long periods of time." He stated.
"And how much longer am I to remain out here? Or is this just part of my so called 'punishment'?" She says, trying to hold back tears.
Frieza sighs and pinches the bridge of his nose. Before looking back up at her.
"I already told you a couple months ago, that punishment is over. Has been for quite some time now. And besides, you won't remain on this ship for much longer. In a couple weeks time, we will be landing on Planet Frieza. I have work there that needs to be dealt with. And even I get dreary of being on a ship for long periods of time." He says.
Mia doesn't recall him talking about such a planet.
"Is that your home world?" She asks.
"No, just one of the many planets that are under my rule. The one we will be taking up residence on is one of my favorites. With one of my best refurbished homes. I do believe you will come to like it there." Frieza said.
While Mia is relieved to be going somewhere else for a change, she is still disheartened that it's not Earth he's taking her back to.
"I take it it's one of these oxygen-based planets you've talked about in the past. Otherwise, it will become a real breathing issue for me there." She stated.
"Obviously, otherwise I wouldn't have considered taking you. I'm aware that you can only breathe oxygen. That's one of the many reasons why when I've visited other worlds over the months for dealings, I didn't allow you to accompany me, because none of them were oxygen-based. You would've either suffocated to death or your lungs would've burned from the inside out." He said, as a matter of fact.
She snorted, "Really? And here I thought it was because you didn't want me to be collateral damage or get caught in a firefight. And those are just a couple of the many possibilities for me."
He smirks, "Yes, you are correct in those assumptions. Especially, when some of these dealings don't always go according to plan. And to think, most would learn by now not to cross me."
Mia couldn't help but roll her eyes at the comment. Always so full of himself.
"Can your ego get any bigger or you head more swollen? Never mind, don't answer that. Nice to see though that you still get off on the pain and suffering of others." She says, sarcastically.
"You act as if I know nothing about the concept or never been on its receiving end." He says, as he gets up and walks over to her.
She stiffens as he approaches, thinking she may have crossed a line again. But once he got there, all he did was sit on the opposite end of the couch, lean back, and crossed his arms. Mia wasn't deterred though. She sure as hell didn't believe him.
"Please, you wouldn't know pain even if it came up and bit you in the ass. And we both know it." Mia says.
Frieza narrows his eyes at her.
"I think you are the one who doesn't know what she's talking about. And need I remind you to watch what you say?" He snaps.
"Then tell me? What do you know of pain?" She asks.
"I think the question you should be asking; is what don't I know about it? I've been through it all. Most of my suffering due to that infernal monkey, Goku. Not to mention dying twice and being mutilated from being caught in the explosion on Planet Namek. All of which I can tell you was very excruciating." Frieza replies.
"Except your forgetting one thing." Mia says.
He arches an eye ridge, "Really? And what's that?" Frieza inquires.
"You put yourself in those situations. And have no one to blame but yourself for each of those outcomes." She informs him.
"Oh, and tell me, how do you think I should've better handled these outcomes? And please, don't leave anything out." He quips.
Mia could tell he was rather annoyed by her comment. But it was the truth. Something he apparently doesn't like hearing. Which really shouldn't be all that surprising to her. If there is one thing she learned about him over the months; is that he doesn't always take to the truth of things well. And she had the gashes, contusions, and bruises to prove it during those times.
"You transverse through space going to countless worlds with your high and mighty superiority complex forcing others to submit and bend to your will. And when they don't, you annihilate them. By doing so you slapped a black label and a target on yourself. As powerful as you are, you still should've had an idea of how things would eventually end for you. In the end, you put yourself in those situations.
On top of that, you refuse to accept any of the blame in favor of blaming others for your untimely ends. You may think you hold a lot of responsibility in running this Empire and everything about it. Yet, in the end you cannot take responsibility for yourself." She stated.
He squeezed his biceps and clenched his jaw in agitation. Frieza is unsure what angers him more, the fact that she called him out on everything that lead him up to this point with his misfortunes with the saiyans; or the fact that she called him out on being callous and irresponsible.
"Tell me, you think you can go back and right the wrongs of your past? You think that being a better child to your parents would've made a difference or made them love you instead of treating you worse than the family pet? Do you honestly believe your outcomes could've been any different? Or is it all buried under a thick fog of denial and self pity? I think in the end, your the one who cannot accept the cold hard truth." Frieza snaps.
Now it was Mia's turn to be pissed. 'Why that self-absorbed asshole! How dare he compare my life to his! Or think my outcome could've been different! He doesn't know shit!' Her mind screamed.
"The fact that you have the balls to compare my life to yours instead of taking in the answers I just gave you, already tells me what I need to know. And fuck you for mentioning my parents" She spat.
Mia didn't say anything else. She just got up and stormed to the other side of the room. She dropped down onto the large bed and curled up on her side. Refusing to let him see the angry tears streaming down her cheeks. She anticipated an ass kicking from him on those last remarks. At this point though, she didn't care.
Frieza was seething, a part of him wanted to go over there and teach her another lesson. A disembodied voice cut through the large room.
"Lord Frieza, the leaders from Planet Hultar received your instructions from your men. They wish to hold a conference with you as soon as you are able. A couple of them are on their way now to the Main Ship." Berryblue said, over the intercom.
He stood up and approached the doors at the front of the room. Frieza stopped by the side of the left door and pressed the button to the intercom on the wall there.
"I'll be there in a couple minutes. Tell them to meet me in the Conference Room on the third level." The tyrant informed her.
"Yes, My Lord. We will inform them as soon as they arrive." She replied.
The intercom cut off right after. He turns and looks briefly over his shoulder back towards Mia. She hasn't moved from her spot nor showed she paid any attention to the conversation. He then headed out; the doors slid closed behind him. And Mia was now left alone.
Until Next Time ;)
