After a mission on the other side of the galaxy, the batch was happy to be home and be able to rest for a while. Omega was able to attend school and the batch noticed that she came home with a certain spring in her step.
"What are you so happy about?" Crosshair sneered.
"Nothing." Omega lied.
"Liar."
The next day, the batch walked into town and noticed when all of a sudden, Omega started to back away from them as though she didn't want to be seen with them.
"Hi, Omega."A boy greeted.
"Oh, um, hi Ren." Omega replied nervously.
"Want to come play with us?"
"Yeah, sure."
Omega ran off with Ren and the batch looked at each other.
"Was that what I think it was?" Echo questioned.
"You mean, Omega having a thing for a boy? Yeah, that's… that's what it was." Hunter replied.
"It's normal for children Omega's age to have what people call crushes. Omega will be slightly obsessed with him for a few months and then move on. Especially if he isn't interested in her." Tech explained.
"Great. As if she isn't hormonal enough. Now, she'll be worse." Crosshair huffed.
"I'm not ready fro this." Hunter chuckled.
The brothers looked at Wrecker who hadn't said a thing only to see that he was… crying?
"What? She's just… she's growing up so fast. Soon, she'll be dating boys and then getting married and then having a family of her own." Wrecker rambled.
"Wrecker, relax. She's not that grown up. She's got a lot of kid left in her. She will for a long time. Relax." Hunter answered. Wrecker nodded and wiped the tears from his eyes. Crosshair looked at Wrecker and groaned while shaking his head.
"You'll survive, Wrecker." Crosshair sneered.
"It was bound to happen. No need to be surprised." Tech stated.
"Well, I wasn't expecting it. And I don't think I ever will." Echo chuckled.
"Same here. But I guess we better start teaching Omega some self-defense just in case." Hunter agreed.
Omega's crush remained a crush and she did move on. The batch taught Omega self-defense and she was happy to learn, but it was a few years before sher realized the batch's intent.
