The next chapter is up! Enjoy :)
He felt like he really pushed himself this time. But then that is what training is all about. Yet, at the same time, he can't help but feel like he's been very distracted as of late. And Frieza knew it had to do with the human woman in his care. The tyrant has never believed himself to be playful or have a carefree attitude.
Yet, that is exactly how he was with her earlier this morning, before he abruptly left to train. He can't get the thought of how things were the previous night between them. He has always been rough during sex. But he was the very opposite last night with her. As much as he hates to admit it, it was an amazing experience. The sounds she made, how she felt around him, how her climax brought along his on a whole new level.
But what really baffled him, was when she asked to be held, he obliged. It was strange and alien to Frieza. At the same time, it was very pleasant, and he feels it opened them up to something else; something strong and deep. Frieza is unsure on how to describe how he felt at that time while holding her soft warm small body against his.
And if things couldn't get any stranger; he did things this morning to make her smile and laugh. Here he thought he made a fool out of himself by teasing her and telling jokes. Then why did making her happy make him feel warm inside.
"Dammit." He muttered between breaths.
At the moment, he was taking a breather from a round of vigorous training. The tyrant finds it ironic that he exerted himself as he did, and without a sparring partner. At the time, he didn't think to stop and get one of his Elites to train with him. The only thing on his mind when he left his quarters; was to get as far away as possible from her and clear his mind.
To his disappointment, it doesn't seem to be working though. Something that was really beginning to frustrate him to no end. And despite practically decimating the ground below him, he still felt distracted by his thoughts about her and what has taken place between them.
'Just what is that slip of a woman doing to me!? More importantly, why I am letting her!?' His thoughts screamed.
He keeps trying to remind himself that she's nothing. And that he should get rid of her before she starts turning him into a softhearted fool. That thought alone sent another wave of anger through him. And in his anger, he charged up a large bright red ball of ki, and with a shout; blasted a nearby cliff formation. There was an Earth shattering bang as he blew it all up to hell. Until there was nothing but a pile of rubble and debris left.
It was then, something hit him while he blasted away at the cliff. Frieza couldn't describe it, but he felt a very brief strong power surge. Like something else was trying to claw its way to the surface. He closed his eyes and concentrated, trying to see if that unfamiliar tug of power will surge up again.
After a couple minutes he sighed in frustration. He must've worn himself out a little too much and didn't have enough reserves to bring that unknown power back up. Frieza cursed himself for overdoing it this time around. Not only could he tap into what almost felt like a possible power boost, but he felt like he didn't have enough energy to continue with training any further.
He looked up into the sky, the sun was pretty low, and he could see the moon starting to rise up to take the sun's place. The tyrant was a bit surprised at this. He didn't think he was out here for that long. But it looks like he was out here for the entire day, training nonstop. Today certainly went rather fast. Though this isn't the first time he trained for the whole day nonstop.
But this is the first time he felt quite drained. Probably because he normally paces himself and puts more strategy into his next moves. Thinking about what he could add or something else knew he could try, along with new possible ki techniques. All this while trying to push himself to the next level. Frieza could feel it, he knew there was a whole new level he could push himself to. After all, those monkeys were not the only ones who could improve, and reach new forms.
Despite all of the training he's been doing though, he hasn't come close to breaking his limits during all those times. That is; until today. Frieza is certain that for the first time, he did get a taste of what could possibly be him breaking his limits yet again. Though he is unsure of what gave him that particular push. The tyrant could afford to be patient though. He was in no rush and knew it was only a matter of time before he reached a new level.
The last thing he wanted to do, was make the same mistakes all over again that in the end costed him his life; again. Frieza learned the hard way a long time ago that he was impulsive and rushed headlong into battle quite hastily after he broke his limits to reach what he dubs his 'Golden' Form. No, this time he was training even harder and taking his time. And when he does achieve a new form, he will practice with it longer then he did in his golden form and take the time to master it first before going into another fight with the saiyans.
Just you wait, monkeys. There will come a day that I will be victorious over you and take my place back at the top once more.' He thought with a smirk.
The sun was now starting to inch its way below the horizon. That's when he figured it was time to start heading back. He was exhausted and covered in sweat, dirt, and debris from head to toe. First thing he wanted to do when he gets back, is take a nice long bath. Then order up some food from the kitchen.
Frieza headed back to the base. He was quite far from it and good thing too, because there were currently more craters in the ground than he could count. And the last thig he wanted, was to do any damage to his base while here. Still, if he travels fast enough, he could be back in about ten to twelve minutes.
As he was flying back, his mind couldn't help but wander back to Mia. Already, he was wondering what he should do when he gets back. It was a rather redundant thought, yet here he was; wondering if he should ignore her at the moment or not. Or possibly try to avoid her all together for the time being. Maybe he could even just give himself more work to do while here in between his training time.
With Mia...
She yawned as she turned her gaze to one of the windows in the room. It was getting dark out, and Frieza still wasn't back yet. Mia figures he must've gotten caught up either with work or with training. It wouldn't be a first time for the infamous Evil Emperor. Most of those times she was with him, except during training, and when he had to do business at one of the other planets.
'Good thing I didn't wait for him and went and got my own dinner earlier. Otherwise, I'd be starving right about now.' She thought.
Mia fiddled with her tablet for a little longer. Before letting out a drawn-out sigh and lightly tossed it onto the couch next to her. Man was she was bored. She did some exploring around this place earlier today and visited each floor and room. She really liked the lounge/library area one floor down. Like this floor, that area was very spacious and had a lot in it.
There were several comfortable couches and chairs. A few potted plants decorated the corners of the large room, and some sat between a set of chairs. There also several rows of shelves that reached to the ceiling that were filled with all kinds of books. It's just a shame she couldn't read any of them because they were all in a different language.
Perhaps if Frieza wasn't so busy, he could teach her whatever language the books are written in. With his schedule, she doubts it though. At least it still was a nice area with a nice size balcony attached to it. As he mentioned to her earlier today, there were a couple comfortable chairs out there too.
Mia must've spent a good portion of the day out on that balcony, soaking up the sun's rays. It definitely made her realize how much she missed being on the ground and feeling the sunlight on her skin after several months in space. She even got to chat a little more with Sorcha when her work slowed down a bit. Though what the alien woman told Mia made her feel sorry for her.
It saddened her to hear that Sorcha has been a part of the staff here for a good chunk of her life. And that it's been decades since she even seen her home world and her family. Mia also found out that when she's not busy doing work here at Frieza's Home, she's out and about at the base doing other kinds of work for the soldiers here.
She reached over and tapped the screen of the tablet to check the time. It said it was 8:03pm. Originally, it was on a different time setting for when she was on the ship. But Sorcha was nice enough to set it to this world's time.
Mia was about to lean back and put her feet up onto the coffee table. She paused when the elevator doors slid open and Frieza walked in. Surprisingly looking a little worse for wear. Amusement lit up her eyes, he looked like he spent the day rolling around in the dirt. He didn't say a word to her as he passed her and made a B-Line for the bathroom.
Her small smile disappeared. Odd, it wasn't like him to not say anything to her. Mia could only speculate that he must be quite out of it from training and probably just wanted to relax.
She faintly heard the water go on in there. Indicating he was either showering or taking a bath. And by the looks of it, he may be a while. Mia couldn't really do much of anything at the moment. She may as well continue to sit back and relax. All that sun did take quite a bit out of her. Kind of like how you feel after spending the day at the beach, between all that sun, and the water; it takes a lot out of you. In her case, there was no water for her to swim in, but laying out in the sun for as long as she did seemed to do the trick. It's also probably because she hasn't been in the sunlight for nearly a year.
Another ten minutes went by, before the elevator doors slid open again. This time, one of the cooks came in with a tray of food. There was also what appeared to be a bottle of wine and a couple glasses next to it.
He nodded in greeting to her, before setting the tray of food down on one of the end tables. Afterwards he left, and it was just her in the room again. Whatever they made, it certainly smelled good. And steam was still coming out from beneath the lid that was covering the plate. She didn't want to disturb him, but the longer the food sat, it was bound to eventually get cold.
A couple moments went by before Mia got up and approached the bathroom door. It slid open to allow her in. She spotted him in the tub. The jets were going as he sat on the underwater bench, resting his head back against the rounded rim where the inground tub met with the tile floor surrounding it. His eyes were closed, and he seemed very relaxed.
Before she opened her mouth, he broke the silence and spoke.
"You need something?" He asks, his eyes were still closed.
Mia was a little surprised that he knew she was there. Those water jets that were making the water bubble weren't exactly quiet. And she thought as relaxed as he looked, that he may have been dozing off and not paying attention to his surroundings.
"They brought food up for you from the kitchen. It's on one of the end tables. Just wanted to let you know, before it gets cold." She said.
"I'll be out in a few minutes. It will still be hot then." He replied.
More silence followed afterwards. And Mia eventually just left when she saw he was done talking. She dropped back down on the couch and resumed relaxing herself. The couch was so comfortable, she wouldn't be surprised if she ended up falling asleep there.
She did start dozing off, until she heard the bathroom door slide open. Frieza came out looking clean and refreshed, while some steam billowed out behind him. He passed her again and headed for the end table with the food on it. He then brought it over to a small round table on the other side of the room and sat down to eat.
Mia was too comfortable to get up from her position on the couch. So, she decided to stir up a conversation from there.
"So, by the looks of it; you had a good day of training." She inquires.
"Yes, but then I don't tend to have less than satisfactory training. I still strive to improve with each session." Frieza says.
They chatted a little more while he ate. Though even she could tell he didn't appear to be in a very talkative mood. Considering he gave her many one-word answers or a short sentence with no more than five words for a response. At this point, Mia was wondering if he was simply just out of it, or something was bothering him.
A part of her wanted to go for the latter, because even after a long day of training, he still usually wasn't all that exhausted. And still had enough energy to chat her up once he got back. If anything, Frieza was almost always the one to initiate a conversation. Whereas in the past, she hardly wanted to talk to him. Especially, after he done something horrible like killing others or decimating a planet.
Once he finished the food on his tray, Frieza grabbed the bottle of wine and the two glassed. He then headed over to the couch where Mia was. The tyrant circled around the coffee table and sat down. He placed the glasses down, before pulling one over and pouring some wine in it. He then poured wine in the other glass.
Frieza left the bottle on the table in front of the couch and picked up both glasses. He then offered one of them to Mia. She looked at him in surprise. This was new, since when did he ever give her alcohol? Her surprise was brief, and she reached out to take the offered glass.
"Thanks." She said, as she took it.
"Welcome." He replied.
Mia studied its contents; it was red wine. She took a small sip, it was dry, and it was quite strong. Just the way she liked it. Back home, her preferred wine was red, dry, and strong. With her favorite choices tending to be Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, and Merlot.
"This is actually quite good." Mia said.
"One of my preferred choices." Was all he said.
At this point, Frieza wasn't even looking at her while he spoke. He was looking straight ahead instead.
Mia quirked a dark brow, "You ok? You seem a bit...off."
He shrugs, "Just have a lot on my mind."
"Something work or training related?" She inquires.
He shakes his head, "Nothing for you to concern yourself with. It's as you say...just one of those days."
She took a bigger sip from her wine glass.
"Yeah, I tend to get a lot of those too." Mia says.
The corner of his mouth tilts up int a half smile.
"Why am I not surprised?" Frieza replied.
"Well, when you say it like that, it sounds like you think my head is in the clouds majority of the time." She stated.
He snorts, "In a way, I wouldn't put it past you."
Mia rolls her eyes, and takes another sip.
"Thanks." She says, sarcastically.
His smile slowly grows a little bigger.
"You must really fancy the wine. Your already more than halfway through your glass." He points out.
She looks down at the glass in question. And was surprised to see that he was correct. It wasn't a small glass either. Not only that, but she was starting to feel quite buzzed too. Shit really was very strong. Mia wouldn't be all that surprised if this wine was easily more potent than any wine from Earth. Which meant she probably should be careful, because Frieza's the last person she wanted to get wasted in front of.
He must've read her mind, because before she could stop him, he topped off her glass again, and poured her some more. Then Mia watched as he downed the last of his glass as if it were water, before pouring himself another. It should come to no surprise that the guy could easily hold his liquor. She almost laughed out loud when she imagined him easily drinking under the table against a whole room of men. No doubt he'd be the only one standing afterwards while everyone else is passed out on the floor.
Frieza noticed the grin on her face.
"What is it you suddenly find amusing?" He asks.
Mia took a sip before answering him.
"Just thinking how you could probably very easily out drink a bar full people." She admitted out loud.
Damn her head was starting to get fuzzy. Mia should've stopped then and there. But her mind was already hazy and clouding her judgement. If Frieza noticed, he has yet to say anything. He did find her comment to be quite random though amusing. And it did make him chuckle a little.
"Just 'a' bar full of people?" He somewhat teased.
She took another bigger sip.
"Ok, fine. A whole fucking town's worth of bars put together. There, is that more accurate?" Mia retorts.
"Yes, that's about right. But then I can't imagine Earth having very strong alcohol. At least not like the alcohol in my collection." He says.
"Noooo, shit! I can tell this stuff is very potent." She replies.
At this point, Frieza is starting to notice she's getting pretty tipsy. And realizing too late that he shouldn't have topped of her glass a second time. Hopefully, she doesn't hurl. He watched in amazement and part horror as she chugged down a good portion of the wine before pulling away with a cough.
"Mia, I think you had enough." Frieza says.
He watches as she shakes her head in a rather clumsy motion.
"No, you filled it, and I'm not going to waste it." Mia said.
By now there was less than half left. Frieza went to take the glass from her. But before he could reach it, she chugged down the rest of the wine, before setting it down on the coffee table in front of them.
"Ha! I win!" She says, while pumping her fists up in the air.
He's quite speechless in a sense that she just finished two whole glasses of one of his strongest wines. Bad news is; he now has a very inebriated human on his hands.
'Great, this should be fun.' He thought.
Mia turns to him with a grin.
"You know, I don't think you're as bad many believes you to be. I don't know what it is, but there is more to you that meets the eye. I think the things that you do are to cover and suppress something else within you that you just don't want to see come to the surface." She says.
Frieza knows she is drunk. Still, what she just said definitely caught him off guard. And he doesn't like it. He doesn't like that she thinks of him in that light or that he's trying to keep something buried under layers of ice. Most of all; he doesn't like that she is getting so close.
He opens his mouth to reply to that. Only to stop short when Mia closed her eyes and dropped down on her side on the couch. Frieza could tell she was knocked out, by her even breathing, and she didn't move. She'll probably be out for a while too; if not a good portion of the night.
That wasn't at the forefront of his mind right now though. Her words kept playing on repeat in his mind, until he became aggravated. Frieza stood up and moved around the coffee table and started to pace.
'How dare she! What makes her think she knows anything about me!? What gives her the right to presume how I feel!?" His mind screamed.
Her words still persisted, until he finally had enough. He stopped in front of her and pointed his index finger at her. A tiny ball of red key started to form at his fingertip as he took aim. As it built up and he was about to take the kill shot, an image of her smiling and laughing entered his rampant mind. This was followed by the image of him holding her last night after their tryst. It brought about that same tugging feeling in his chest, as he remembered how it felt being that close to her. And a pleasant feeling of a connection between the two of them.
Frieza pulled his finger back and brought it down to his side and clenched his fists and his jaw out of frustration.
"Dammit!" He gritted.
Why can't he just do it!? Why can't he snuff her out!? He never had a probably ending lives before. So, why now!? What the hell makes her so different!? He squeezes his crimson eyes shut and tries to get his breathing and anger under control. Then one last image popped up in his turbulent mind. It was her giving him a genuine smile when he abided her request about holding her. Or should he say, more like pleaded with him. Either way, it was the first real smile she had ever given him. And in that moment, she looked so beautiful, and he recalls how it made his heart race.
Frieza lets out a drawn-out sigh. Before he slowly opens his eyes and turns his gaze back to her prone form. A few moments later he approaches Mia, and carefully lifts her from the couch.
He carries her to his bed, gently lays her down on top of the comforter, and lightly places her head on one of the pillows making sure she is comfortable. Feeling today's events catching up with him, he too joins her on the bed. The tyrant is reluctant to get close to her. Instead, he keeps his distance, and lays a couple feel away from her. Good thing the bed was big enough to where he can do that.
Frieza lays on his back with his arms crossed behind his head and stares up at the ceiling. Every now and then his gaze would wander to the young woman laying on the bed a couple feet away. His mind warring with him on whether or not to move closer to her again, and lay with her pressed up against him again, like they did last night.
He continued to be stubborn though and didn't budge. Eventually, he fell into a fitful sleep. Both of them slept soundly through the night. It seems that the only time his mind is at peace anymore; is when he's sleeping.
Until Next Time ;)
