The next chapter is up! Enjoy :)
Morning finally came, and everyone was just about ready to leave. Mia went to say goodbye to all the staff in the home and thanked them for all their services. They thanked her in return, especially when they learned that she was the one to suggest they be relieved of their services here or rather enslavement. For most of them, they haven't seen or been to their home worlds since they were brought here by Frieza's men.
Naturally, after all this time they were ecstatic to finally be able to leave this ghastly world and go back to their perspective homes. Sorcha also bid them all farewell before returning to Mia, Frieza, and baby Liana.
For only being a couple weeks old, the infant was quite alert and curious of her surroundings and the people within it. She was also a very laid back and happy baby, to her parents' relief. Mia couldn't wait until she brought Liana to Earth. She knows that her daughter will love it there. She also knew Liana would be much happier there and have friends her age.
Frieza loaded up the last of their bags into the small cargo hold of the small cruiser. In which, there weren't that many. Most of it was the baby's things. Sorcha only had one bag of stuff she was bringing with her.
The three adults said their final goodbyes to the rest of the staff before entering the small four seat cruiser. Frieza knew once they take off, the staff will leave shortly afterwards, as planned. Berryblue had also come to say some final goodbyes before they left the base. The tyrant was a bit surprised when the small blue alien woman actually pulled him in for a hug.
He known Berryblue his whole life. And she rarely showed affection to others, with the exception of him. A small smile formed on Frieza's face as he lightly wrapped his arms around the one woman who was like a mother to him for most of his youth.
"I'll come and visit as soon as I can. Depending how quickly everything here is put in order." Berryblue said.
Frieza sighs, "Sadly, with this lot that could be a while. But I appreciate it nonetheless."
Berryblue approached Mia and baby Liana. She placed her hand lightly on the baby's head with a small caress, which put a smile on the infant's face. Then she wrapped an arm around Mia and gave her a brief hug as well.
"Thank you, for bringing out the carefree and happy boy I thought I'd lost a long time ago. I'll forever be in your debt for that, Dear." She said, to Mia.
Mia couldn't help but smile.
"You're welcome. And like Frieza said, don't be a stranger, and visit us when you can." The young woman informed her.
Berryblue nodded, and briefly glanced at Sorcha.
"Hope you all have a safe trip." She said.
Then the small blue alien woman moved back. They all turned and went up the small ramp into the cockpit. Frieza sat in front of the controls. While Sorcha gave Mia a strong and sturdy sling to wear over her shoulder to put Liana in. Afterwards, they all went to their seats and buckled themselves in.
"We will ascend slowly. Then right before we breach the atmosphere, I will switch the controls to light speed. It will ensure a shorter flight time and bring it down to a mere few hours. By my calculations, we should be landing on Earth by mid to late afternoon." Frieza paused and turned his attention to Mia.
"And you still wish to land not far from Goku and Vegeta's Dwellings, correct?" He inquires.
"Yeah, mainly because I miss them and want to see them. And I know they will be happy to see me after all this time. Plus, it may be the best solution to prevent confrontation between you, Goku, and Vegeta. Because I can't help but think things would be worse if we were to land in a random location and have them come running to us once they sense you. It just be better to meet them upfront and give them an explanation that way. And not just them, but everyone else." Mia explained.
"Sounds like a good idea. Better to go to them then have them come to us, hot and ready for a fight." Sorcha added.
Frieza gave Mia a brief nod. He glanced at their slumbering daughter in her arms, before looking ahead. He looked out the large window in front of them and gave Berryblue one last nod. She returned the sentiment not a moment later.
He then started up the engine and ascended into the air. Frieza brought the craft up into the atmosphere, he briefly glanced down at his Home Base one last time. Then his gaze went to the view in front of them and he hit the controls for light speed. And the craft quickly left the planet behind them in a matter of a minute, maybe even a little less.
Mia was never less than amazed by alien tech. It was clear by all the stars blurring by that they were going at an incredible speed. Yet, it didn't feel like it. No one was being harshly pressed back into their seats from the strong propulsion pushing them forward. Everyone was comfortable and Frieza even mentioned that they were free to move about freely at this point if they wished.
It was something Mia liked to hear, seeing as she could never sit still for very long. At some point she may get up and walk about the small craft. Even though it wasn't all that spacious. Not like the much bigger ships. This cruiser alone was only a fraction of the size of Frieza's main ship.
Mia kept peering out the large window in front of them. While Sorcha laid back in her chair and closed her eyes, in favor of relaxing. It was cool watching everything else around them zip by like blurs of light. The stars looked like white streaks and the planets looked like large blurs or blobs as they passed them. It would probably take a couple or few more decades give or take for Earth's flight technology to catch up to what aliens have accomplished.
Her gaze then turned to Frieza sitting next to her a couple feel away in his seat. He appeared to be deep in thought. Something he has been doing a lot lately since he informed her they would be going back to Earth. Mia knew it most likely had to do with the fact that he nor the rest of them could anticipate what would happen once they got there.
Frieza was still anticipating a fight between him and the saiyans breaking out. In the past, he would be eager to engage in another battle in them. But when his gaze goes to his lover and daughter, he realizes that a fight was the last thing he wanted. For the very reason it could possibly put them in danger.
"Still worried it will turn into a fight once we get there?" Mia asks.
His crimson gaze turns from the view in front of them to her.
He sighs, "Yes, with those two, it is to be expected."
Mia couldn't deny the truth to that statement. She has known Goku, Vegeta, and their families for years. And she knew how battle obsessed Goku and Vegeta could be. Though a part of her still hopes she can talk them down from a fight. Is it too much to ask for a normal happy reunion? Especially after being gone for nearly two years.
"I know, I'm nervous about that too. I can only hope it doesn't get to that point. That is why I will explain everything I can to them. I like to think Goku will at least listen. Seeing as he was always the more understanding of the two of them. It's Vegeta I'm more worried about. Knowing him, he will be the first one to charge. If I can't get through to him, I'm hoping Bulma can. Usually, she's pretty good at talking him down from something.
Gohan and Piccolo will not be happy with seeing you again. But at least they think and don't rush headlong into a fight right away and will listen. Krillin will most likely just glare at you, as well as the others." Mia paused and let out a small chuckle.
"And don't be surprised when you meet ChiChi. Her first reaction may be to hit you with something big and heavy." She added, with some laughter in her voice.
She really wouldn't put it past the headstrong, quick-tempered brunette. ChiChi was and always will be quite the firecracker. Someone who doesn't hold anything back and speaks her mind.
Mia saw a faint smile on his face upon hearing that last remark.
"So, you're saying I should probably brace myself when I meet her. This is Goku's wife you're talking about, correct?" He inquires.
"Yep, the one and only." She replies.
"I don't know who to feel more sorry for. Her or Goku." He jokes.
She lets out a small chuckle.
"Well, let's just say their marriage is never boring. And that's putting it lightly." Mia jokes back.
The couple spent most of the trip chatting back and forth. Mia fed and changed the baby a few times. Frieza held Liana for half the trip himself. Still never ceases to amaze him how much emotion courses through him when he holds her. For the now former tyrant, it really was love at first sight when it came to his little girl.
It wasn't much longer, until a familiar blue, green, and white planet came into view. And it put a huge teary smile on Mia's face. The planet was getting bigger and bigger as they drew closer. Mia was getting more excited by the minute. Frieza noticed this too. He couldn't blame her. After all, he did keep her away from Earth for almost two years. Something he felt incredibly guilty for.
Another ten minutes went by, before Earth took up the whole view in the window. Frieza handed Liana over to Mia, before handling the controls again. He gradually reduced the speed as they drew closer, until the made it to Earth's atmosphere. The view around them turned orange and red as flames surrounded the cruiser as it plowed through the atmosphere. The floor vibrated beneath their feet from the turbulence.
It all lasted for several seconds, before the flames and turbulence dissipated. And everyone was met with a bright blue sunny sky. Frieza checked the coordinates and turned left.
"It will only take us another five minutes before we get to the city." Frieza informed her.
"Probably should wake up Sorcha then." Mia said.
She turned around and called back to the alien woman, who had been snoozing away for the better part of this trip. It took Mia a couple tries; she had no idea that her friend was quite a sound sleeper. Eventually, Sorcha awoken, and Mia told her they were close to landing soon. That's when the alien woman looked out the window and noticed blue skies with whisps of white clouds instead of pitch black with millions of stars.
They were now about three minutes away. Then Frieza tensed up a little. Something that didn't pass Mia's attention. She was about to ask him what was wrong. Until she turned her gaze to the view in front. Her eyes widened when she saw two specks that gradually turned into people that were flying and headed towards them.
Mia squinted trying to get a better look. There were obviously only a handful of people she knew that could fly. Soon she saw what appeared to be a very familiar orange outfit and someone with black hair. And the one next to them was decked out in blue with white gloves, with a very familiar and pronounced widow's peak.
"Shit, really wasn't expecting this." Mia muttered, her gaze never leaving the two beings flying towards them.
"Can't say I'm surprised. They could probably sense me as soon as we entered Earth's atmosphere." Frieza stated.
Frieza started slowing the cruiser down as they drew closer to the approaching saiyans. He hopes they don't do anything reckless like shooting them out of the sky. Instead, when Goku and Vegeta were several meters away, they stopped, and waited.
The former tyrant slowed to a stop not fifteen feet away from them. It was a bit comical watching as the saiyans' eyes almost popped out of their heads when they spotted their long-lost friend in the seat next to their biggest enemy. Mia didn't know what to do at that point. She suddenly felt like a kid who was just caught by their parents sneaking out of the house late at night.
An awkward smile appeared on her face and she gave them a small wave. Vegeta continued gaping at them. While Goku's surprised look quickly morphed into a huge smile and he waved back, like the lovable oaf he was. Mia bit her lip and pointed down, signaling to them they were about to land.
Goku nodded and gestured with his head to his left, before taking off in that direction. Vegeta snapped out of his stupor and narrowed his eyes at them. Before he too took off after Goku.
"Uhh, you guys know those two?" Sorcha asked.
Mia briefly looked back at her.
"That would be my friends Goku and Vegeta I've told you about." She replied.
Sorcha's eyes widened.
"Oh. Didn't expect them to meet us halfway." She said.
Mia turned her gaze back to the front.
"Neither did I." She muttered.
Frieza didn't say anything. Just followed the two saiyans to their destination. Which didn't take too long and within three minutes they were landing in a grassy clearing, where Goku and Vegeta were waiting for them.
'This should be interesting.' Frieza thought.
He landed the cruiser about twenty feet away from the saiyans. Everyone got up from their seats and made their way to door. Frieza placed his hand in the panel next to it and a moment later, it slid open, and the small ramp extended down to the ground.
Frieza was the first one off. His two foes glared at him as he exited the cruiser. Mia came out behind him, with Liana clutched to her chest. And Sorcha was the last one off. Mia came to stand beside him. Both saiyans did a double take when they saw the tiny infant in her arms. Their gaze bouncing back and forth between the couple.
"Hello, it's nice to finally meet you. Mia has told me so much about you." Sorcha said, trying to break the awkward silence.
"Ugh?" Was all Goku could say.
"Just what in the hell is going on?" Vegeta growled.
"It's a lot to explain." Mia replied.
"Then I suggest you start explaining now." Vegeta said.
"Does it have to be here in the middle of nowhere? Think it be better to head back to your place. That way I can explain it to everyone and not have to repeat myself several times." Mia stated.
Goku opened his mouth to say something. When Vegeta beat him to it.
"You can come back. After we take care of the trash next to you." Vegeta retorts, glaring at Frieza.
The former Emperor glares back, digging his nails into his palms at his sides.
"Sorry, but that's not going to happen. He's here with us." Mia said, while cradling their newborn.
"You really mean to say that little bastard fathered your child!?" Vegeta snapped.
"Vegeta, stop. It's obvious a lot has happened these last couple years. Why don't we just do as Mia asks and let them explain back at your house." Goku interjected.
"Are you kidding me right now, Kakarot!? I'm not letting Frieza back at my home, again!" Vegeta argued.
Sensing the tension and hearing all the yelling, Liana started to cry. Mia started to gently rock her and shush her.
"Vegeta, please. Can you at least try and calm down? You're starting to scare and upset our daughter. I promise you I'll explain everything back at yours and Bulma's home. We can even call everyone over so I can explain to them as well." Mia pleaded.
"She makes for a good point. The middle of nowhere is not exactly an ideal place for a conversation." Sorcha added.
Goku averts his attention to Frieza, who still hasn't said much since they arrived here.
As if reading his thoughts, the former Emperor responded.
"For once, I'm not here looking for a fight." Frieza said.
"Then at least tell us, why are you here?" Goku asked.
This was something that was going to be challenging for Frieza to explain, but it had to be done.
"I came here with Mia and our child to live on Earth." He said.
Goku would've never believed that, until he saw his old friend alive and well next to his foe with a small infant in her arms. It's because of this, he was a little more willing to listen to their plight. He turned his attention back to his saiyan comrade.
"Vegeta, we're bringing the rest of this conversation back to the house. Mia's right, this is something she should share with everyone. Plus, I know Bulma and the others will be happy to see Mia is alive and well. Better to explain than everyone continuing to panic over sensing Frieza's presence here." Goku said.
The other saiyan scowled at Goku and was about to argue with him again. But the cheery saiyan stared him down with a warning glance.
"This isn't up for debate. We're taking this back; Now." Goku said, with finality.
There was a few moments of silence between the two, before either of them spoke.
"Fine." Vegeta gritted out, still clearly pissed.
Goku turned back to them with a friendly smile.
"Ok, we're ready when you guys are." He said.
"Thanks, but we're taking the cruiser there. Some of our belongings are in there." Mia told him.
"Fair enough. We'll meet with you guys on the balcony at Bulma and Vegeta's house. You remember where it is." Goku stated as he stared at Frieza.
"Yes, I remember. We'll meet you there shortly." Frieza replied.
The two saiyans slowly ascended into the air. They gave the couple one last glance before taking off in the direction back to the city. While Frieza, Mia, and Sorcha headed back to the cruiser and took off behind them.
I know a lot of you may have expected a fight to ensue between our heroes and their former foe. But even Goku and Vegeta knew better than to start a fight with their friend and her child there, knowing they could get hurt or caught up in the middle of it. So, that's part of why they agreed to let them come back to the house and explain what had taken place these past two years. Until Next Time ;)
