Peter Parker had been raised by his Uncle Ben (who was his mother's brother) practically his whole life and he had helped him when he got made fun of for being a dorky science nerd. Bullies were scared away but not only of the fame of his uncle and his honorary family but also because no one wanted to get on the bad side of Fantastic Four member the Thing by messing with his legal ward.
Ben was never anything but nice despite his appearance and the other Fantastic Four members: Reed Richards was quite encouraging of his interest in science but was quite busy with his own work when not out helping to save the world. Susan Storm-Richards on the other hand was not only encouraging but more welcoming and warm than Reed was. Johnny Storm however could be annoying and liked the attention that the Fantastic Four's fame could get to him. Was tough to be part of the super family including stuff like having their own special seats when going out to baseball games so that no one could have their sight of the game obstructed by the back of Ben.
Peter however had a conundrum as a few days ago he had been at General Techtronics East for a public demonstration but had gotten bitten by a spider there which apparently could have been some sort of science project there. He found himself changed like being stronger, more agile, could stick to walls allowing him to climb up and down walls plus a danger sense.
He nervously made his way to breakfast with Ben there to greet him along with his Aunt Alicia Masters-Grimm who had been dating Ben for so long and had helped with raising Peter that she was practically Aunt Alicia since day one despite them only recently having gotten married. "Uncle Ben, Aunt Alicia... I have something that I want to admit..." Peter said looking afraid as Alicia was concerned and Ben soon had gotten protective.
"Pete just let me know if that Thompson doofus has been giving you trouble again and I will call his folks to make sure they set the thug straight!" Ben said as Peter shook his head.
"No see Uncle Ben, when I was at Techtronics I had gotten bitten by a spider there and... Well..." Peter said as he then took a deep breath and jumped up so he was now sticking to the roof. There was silence before...
"Reed! Susie! Come down here now!" Ben shouted as soon in came in Reed and Susan.
"Has Johnny been up to his trick again Ben? Seriously he drives us up the walls sometimes..." Susan asked as their eyes widened when they noticed Peter sticking to the roof.
"That is not something that you see every day." Reed pondered as he put his hand to his chin in deep thought.
Soon the Fantastic Four along with Alicia were in a lab with Reed giving a scan to Peter while also having an analysis done to his blood. "Tell me is he going to turn into a Cronenberg spider monster because I have wanted to fight a spider for quite a while." Johnny asked as Ben and Susan glared at Johnny as Ben then put his eyes back to looking at Peter in worry along with Alicia.
"Should we be worried Reed, if it is something bad can you fix it?" Alicia asked as Reed finished looking at his findings.
"Peter should be stable with what the spider bite had done to him, should take some time to get used to the changes and we will have to run some tests to be sure. Otherwise he should be fine." Reed said as there were relief from them.
"I just want to say for the record can we have the idea of him joining off the table? Changing the name to Fantastic Five will seriously hurt our brand." Johnny said as there were glares coming towards him.
Peter seemed okay after some tests and in secret he had come together with a batch of synthetic web and wrist web shooting devices. After hearing of a robbery he couldn't help but put on a mask to help out and stop them which caught the attention of the Four. After some talk it was decided to let Peter work as a street level superhero with his equipment and a suit made of the unstable molecules found in their uniforms.
While criticism of the new Spider-Man as a vigilante were prevalent especially in the Daily Bugle, there were still plenty appreciative of him. Johnny however didn't take it well when Spider-Man became more popular than the Human Torch individually. The fact that the Thing merchandise were always by far the most popular Fantastic Four merchandise was always a sore spot for him.
Rumours of Spider-Man's connection to the Fantastic Four began and Peter and Susan were red in the face when tabloids assumed that Susan was having an affair with Spider-Man. As a student, a scientist and as a superhero, Peter Parker did prove that he was always a nephew to be proud of to Uncle Ben Grimm.
This first chapter was inspired by Five Relatives that Peter Parker Knew, and One that He Didn't by Marcus Rowland.
I am open to suggestions and ideas please and thanks via PM. I am open to romance stories with Peter, harem ideas and general AU ideas you think that I could try.
