A fun idea I came up with that has inspiration from the Pitch Meeting Videos by Screen Rant which I am a big fan of. Plus spoilers for NWH as well as Ghostbusters: Afterlife.
Sony Movie Studios and in a pitch meeting office for those working on the Sony's Spider-Man Universe, "Okay everyone, despite having to share profits with Disney I am quite pleased about the big hit that Spider-Man: No Way Home has become. Audience and fans loved the story, the tributes paid to our previous Spider-Man movie franchises and steering clear from the stuff that detractors hated and we allowed Fiege, Watts and Disney to take the blame despite the fact that those stuff were more our fault." The main executive said before giving a maniacal laugh before stopping. "Anyway, now we can finally stop trying to keep the worst kept pre-reveal spoiler in movie history which we wouldn't have to do if somebody didn't leak that Jamie Foxx would be returning so we could have marketed it as a Spidey V Dr Strange movie as we had wanted to do." The executive said as there were glares at a nervous man.
"Sorry everyone but I had too many beers that night, at least we kept a close eye on Holland this time!" the nervous man said as they all shook their heads.
"Now that we are making money off No Way Home and we will finally be able to release Morbius and hope it will be a hit comparable to Venom plus the two part Into the Spider-Verse sequel, planned Kraven the Hunter movie and the Silk Amazon show, I want new pitches for the next movies in our still being made movie universe. I mean the fact that we have made two movies now already have put us ahead of the Universal Dark Universe." The executive said as they started pondering ideas.
"I know Silver & Black fell apart but we could always go ahead on a Black Cat movie with sex appeal helping with the marketing!" suggested someone and the executive was interested.
"I know for a prequel: Trouble!" suggested someone else and confused eyes went towards him. "A miniseries about Uncle Ben, Aunt May and Peter Parker's parents as horny teens in a resort with cheating and the revelation that Aunt May is Peter's biological mother." The person explained and the others in the meeting looked horrified and they went to check to see if that was a real thing.
"I wonder if I should spend five minutes on google translate to see how many ways I can say... Hell f***ing no!" The executive shouted with his arms folded as the guy looked nervous.
"Come on, there have been great comic movies made out of bad comics! No Way Home had inspiration from One More Day and One Moment in Time, Captain America: Civil War did a better job with the premise than the Civil War comic and that as well as Trouble was written by Mark Millar who has a record of having movies based on his work being much better than the actual comics. I mean have you read the actual Kick Ass comics and the Kingsman movie was so good even Millar himself forgot that his comic wasn't called Kingsman. Plus we could market this as a Spider-Man related movie where Uncle Ben doesn't die." defended the guy but the executive shook his head.
"Can we get some more ideas please that won't make me tempted to have you fired on the spot?" asked the executive as they thought it over.
"I got it: Bluebird!" said someone as the confused eyes went towards the guy that suggested it.
"Is this another obscure minor character that practically no one has ever heard off including the Nightwatch guy whose movie we still have on the table for some reason despite even hardcore Spider-Man fans only having heard of him thanks to said movie announcement?" asked someone else.
"Well in the comic series Untold Tales of Spider-Man they had one of Peter's high school bullies Sally Avril decide to use her gymnastics to become a costumed hero for fun and fame. She fails horribly and ends up dying." The man explained as people batted an eye. "Well think of it this way we market it as another Superhero origin about a kid who struggles and makes it seem like they become better in the end only to pull the rug from under the audience and have her killed in the climax. A deconstruction on the idea of young superheroes that Spider-Man helped create as well as teh idea of non powered heroes." The man said as the executive thought it over.
"You know ever since the Mandarin in Iron man 3, I have wanted to screw with expectations myself." The executive said as there was someone who thought this was a bad idea and had the perfect counter.
"Well if it's a success then we have a movie we can't milk a sequel out of." He said as the executive then promptly changed his tune.
"Well then consider this idea shut down!" the executive said.
"How about in a sequel we bring her back by cloning her!" someone suggested and there were looks towards him.
"Then doesn't that mean we have a sequel that misses the point the original was trying to make?" someone pointed out.
"Since when did movie studios care about artistic integrity?" asked someone else.
"Plus Spidey fans hated the 90s Clone Saga and we are not so desperate to try that!" said someone else.
"That was our idea to bring back the Stacys if we continued with Amazing Spider-Man 3." Someone else pointed out.
"Wait, you know how the fans are wondering about Ned becoming the Hobgoblin? How about we give Jacob Batalon his big break by having him star in a Hobgoblin movie! Fiege isn't in a position to veto the idea since we could always pull the rights back again." suggested someone.
"We already have a villain led movie coming with Kraven and before that we tried with doing a Sinister Six movie." The executive pointed out but the man shook his head.
"No but we have him be a heroic Hobgoblin! We could say that we are taking inspiration from Phil Urich who was a heroic Green Goblin and had his own comic book... But he ended up as a failure superhero and it led to him becoming a villainous Hobgoblin." The man explained and the executive batted an eye. "Well we can also say that it's a reference to the Marvel's Spider-Man cartoon that Disney finished a few years ago which had Harry Osborn as a heroic Hobgoblin. I mean in Ultimate Spider-Man they had Spidey as an Iron Man and Cap fan which were incorporated into the MCU and in the Amazing movies Peter had the civilian clothes that he had in the Spectacular Spider-Man cartoon that people never stopped demanding be brought back." He then continued and the executive shook his head.
"We already confused everyone with the murderer Spider-Man graffiti and Michael Keaton cameo in the first Morbius trailer so our best bet is trying not getting Fiege on our case." The executive said but someone stood up.
"Disney has that What If cartoon and the comics had What If other people had gotten bitten by the spider including Flash Thompson who became Captain Spider before dying. We could try someone like that for the first in an anthology standalone Spider-Verse movie franchise where we keep rebooting every movie! We could even get Cliff Robertson to come back as Uncle Ben so he could get bitten this time." Suggested someone and more people batted an eye.
"He died... In 2011!" someone pointed out.
"We could bring him back with computer graphics." suggested someone and people were horrified.
"That practice is shameful, terrifying and morally ugly!" someone snapped.
"Didn't stop the studio from doing it to Harold Ramis in Ghostbusters: Afterlife." Someone pointed out and this meeting kept going on like this for hours.
True story, I only learned that they had CGI Harold's likeness in that movie after I had seen the movie. When I had seen the movie in cinemas I had legit thought that they just had someone play the part of ghost Egon in that ending.
Hope you liked this different sort of chapter as I hope the future ones would be more what you would expect.
