Chapter 3
Peach runs away from the duplighost, only to be confronted by yet another Naranjo. "You can't run from us!" mocks the newcomer. The second Naranjo, or rather "The True Naranjo" says. "I'm right behind you."
The true Naranjo pulls out a mirror and holds it in front of the fake, the Duplighost hisses and returns to its original form before fleeing.
"Oh my gosh, this is crazy!" Peach exclaims. She turns around and sees a duplicate of herself running towards her. "Quick! Let's get out of here!". She grabs the mirror from Naranjo and holds it in front of her. Causing the fake Peach to hiss and flee.
"Alright, it's time to go!" Peach tells the real Naranjo.
Naranjo nods and leads Peach back to the War Room. The Orange Toad army is gathered around a map of the country, studying it intently.
"If we take the path by the frozen river, we should be able to bypass most of the Yeti Koopas", one of the Orange Toad announces.
"That sounds great!" Peach exclaims. "We'll get started immediately".
The soldiers begin their march to the north. Peach looks at the map again, trying to find a quicker route.
"General?"
"Yes?"
"It looks like one of the Yeti Koopas is still awake and standing guard," Peach says, pointing out a patrolling Yeti Koopa. "Let's get rid of him!"
General Naranjo nods and quietly orders the army to attack. They move stealthily towards the Yeti Koopa. Peach signals Luigi to pounce onto the Yeti Koopa.
"I gotcha!" Luigi says, leaping on top of the Yeti Koopa and knocking it over.
The other Toads follow suit and begin quietly pushing the sleeping Yeti Koopas down the snow-covered slopes, onto the frozen river.
"Looks like we've done it!" Peach exclaims.
"Now head into the mountains," Declares Naranjo.
Peach and Naranjo lead their respective Toad armies up to the top of Star Hill.
They look down below, seeing a bunch of Yeti Koopas guarding the entrance to the mountain. They then look up to see Bowser's airships flying around the top of the mountain as well as the one who is in control of the Yeti Koopas and the invasion. It's a giant tryclyde that seems to be very angry with the Yeti Koopas' failure.
"Looks like we've found ourselves a new enemy" Peach says.
"This is no time for gawking," Naranjo says. "You need to get going! Follow that map to the mountain's secret tunnel. Defeat that tryclyde and get the doors open for our armies to attack!"
Peach and Luigi nod, then begin the march into the mountain's secret tunnel.
Inside the hidden tunnel, Peach and Luigi are following the map. Every few minutes, they hear a loud roar from outside the tunnel.
"What is that sound?" Peach asks.
"Probably Bowser's Airship" Luigi replies. "At least...I hope it is..." He begins to quiver.
"Relax," Peach says, putting her arm around Luigi. "We will prevail".
The tunnel opens up to a massive cavern! Inside, they find a large group of Yeti Koopas dancing around a bonfire.
"Oh that's lovely" Luigi quips. "Now what?"
"There's only one thing we can do," Peach says. "Freeze them with your snowballs!"
Luigi takes a few steps forward, pulling out his ice flower, and throws several snowballs at the Yeti Koopas. The Yeti Koopas freeze instantly, and fall to the ground.
"That was easy!" Declared Luigi. "...Too easy".
Suddenly, the Yeti Koopas begin to move again!
"What are they doing?!" Peach screams.
The Yeti Koopas seem to be chanting something. Suddenly, they transform into duplighosts!
"That's not good," Luigi gulps.
"What do we do now?" Peach asks.
"This might be tough, '' Luigi says. "The duplighosts won't stop till we're dead...but maybe if we keep throwing snowballs at them, they'll get tired soon enough".
Luigi keeps throwing snowballs at the Duplighosts, eventually freezing them into a giant block of ice.
"Good job, Luigi," Peach says. "Now let's get to the exit".
They continue their journey through the cave and up several flights of stairs. There is an enormous door made of wood and stone, decorated with red ribbons and bows. On the other end they hear the howl of the tryclyde.
"L-ladies first?" Luigi offers.
Peach nods, and Luigi pushes the door open.
The two of them step out of the cave. The sun is shining brightly in the sky...even though there should be no sun visible at this time of day.
"Woah!" Luigi exclaims.
The two turn to see the tryclyde operating a giant machine that shoots an artificial sun into the sky.
"Thisssss fake sssssun is sssssure to melt thisssss ssssstupid sssssnow!" Yells the tryclyde.
Bowser stands near the tryclyde, waving his arms around.
"Come on, come on!" Bowser shouts. "We need to finish this quickly!"
"What are you talking about?"
"Peach, Luigi, and those stupid Toads are on that hill! We need to cause an avalanche and bury them!"
"Are you sssssure? I can only sssssee the toadsssss"
"We're not going to let you do anything to them" Peach tells Bowser.
"Peach?!" Bowser says turning around surprised, but soon regaining composure. "Hmph. I suppose I should respect you for getting past my new forces"
He turns to the Tryclyde and addresses it, "Solar! Destroy these two!"
"Yesssss! Massssster!" "Solar" says.
"Okay, Luigi, stand back!" Peach says.
"You're taking that thing one on one?!" Luigi yells
"Let'ssss do thisssss" says Solar.
The tryclyde begins to blast the ground with sun lasers, causing the snow to turn to mud. Peach soon gets stuck in the mud!
"What the heck?!" Peach cries
"What is that thing doing?" Luigi asks.
"It's turned the battlefield to mud! I can barely move!" Peach yells.
"I feel the same way!" Luigi exclaims.
"It's too late to turn back now!" Peach says. "Solar, I command you to unleash your full power!"
Solar begins to shoot out beams of solar energy into the sky. However, Peach throws her crown at the machine's directional stick, so it aims directly at the top of the mountain. It begins to cause an avalanche.
Peach and Luigi watch as the avalanches decimates Bowser's forces.
"Wahoo!" Luigi yells.
"Yes!" Peach rejoices!.
The two of them watch as the snow buries the Tryclyde and the Yeti Koopas making them seemingly disappear under the rubble.
"This is bad!" Says Bowser. "I gotta get outta here and warn the others!"
Bowser transforms into "Doopliss", the leader of the Duplighosts, who flies onto the airship. Soon all of Bowser's forces flee Shiver City, to the cheers of the Toad armies at the base of the mountain.
