Part 13

Bella's changed lasted 2 days and a half and she surprised everyone by not moving, by staying completely still the entire time. Rollo would have gotten worried if Floki hadn't told him that it was normal, that it just showed how strong she'd be as a vampire, that it had always been meant to be and that the Gods were helping her.

As she slept, her children were cared for by their father and other family members, though they did spend a lot of time watching over their mother. Gisla and Gyda, the newborn babies, loved it when their father let them snuggle to their changing mother.

Once Bella woke up, of course she was stunning. Not only in Rollo's eyes, who saw her through the eyes of love, but to everyone who looked at her. She was absolutely perfect and in complete control over her bloodlust during her first hunt.

Her first hunt had been in the woods, on animal blood and they had crossed hikers, one of them bleeding a little. Rollo was ready to restrain his love but it turned out unnecessary. She had simply held her breath and ran away, like a true Queen.

She took a whole day to be just with her children and her husband, bonding, getting to know her baby girls, before she joined the rest of the family to see what was going to happen now.

Of course she also took the time to visit her father, since she had great control, she figured that she might as well enjoy the privileges of it. Charlie had been happy, proud of his daughter. He had been afraid that becoming a vampire would change her too much but she was still the same, she was even more herself, his little Bella.

.

"It's almost time, isn't it?" Ragnar asked Floki as they were all in the same room.

"To take over the Volturi? Yes. Aro has heard about Bella as a human and of course he knows the potential she has now as a vampire. He wants her, especially because we have her with us and he's jealous, always has been. This is going to be his downfall." Floki nodded with a little smile that usually meant that he was about to have fun.

"Will we stand alone?" Rollo asked Floki, willing to be as ready as possible to protect the love of his eternal life and their family.

"Even if we did, our enlarged coven is pretty big as it is. There's us, the Cullen's, the Denali's... Plus the friends we've made or changed here and there that decided to stay nomads but will still be there for us when we need them..." Lagertha replied.

"We won't be alone, the fight will be easy for us, if we can even call this a fight. Our victory fast and indisputable. Especially since we have soldiers loyal to us within the ranks of the Volturi" Floki agreed.

"Do we wait until they make a move, or do we move before they have the time to?" Bella asked nervously.

She had woken up about a week ago and she was already showing impeccable control around humans and human blood. She even started controlling her shield power. She managed to train with Edward's help and everyone was very impressed by her.

"We wait for them to make their move, but we prepare and start gathering our forces. When they come, we'll be waiting for them." Ragnar decided and they all nodded.

He might not have a crown on his head, and he might not be king of Kattegat anymore, but he was still the leader of this coven, enlarged or not and they all respected his authority.

And so they all started making calls, asking their friends to be ready. Most of them started making their way to them and, less than 6 months later, when Floki and Alice saw that the Volturi coven was leaving Italy, they were already in a very large numbers.

Of course the Viking coven was present, including their long time guests Huilen and Nahuel, but also the Cullens and their new charge Bree, the Denali and their new members Laurent and Garrett. Their Irish friends came, along with the Egyptian coven, their new vampire friends from the amazonian forest, nomads from all over the worlds and a few others covens that either wanted to see the Volturi fall or felt like the Vikings would be better leaders for their kind.

The wolf pack wanted to be present as well but Bella asked them to watch over her children instead, and so they stayed on the reservation with Charlie and the hybrids. Little Charles wanted to be there, he looked about 10 or 12 now and he wanted to fight too, but his mother asked him to protect his sisters, which is an argument that seemed to convince him.

When the time came, the Volturi, who had guessed getting Bella wouldn't be easy, had come in full force and the showdown was pretty impressive. Aro started making a speech, trying to claim that they had good reasons for coming here but Ragnar didn't let him speak more than 2 minutes before he cut him off with a tone you usually used when speaking to a toddler in the middle of a tantrum.

"Do you honestly think we're going to let you come here, on our land, under false pretense just so you can steal my brother's long awaited love, his soul mate prophecised by the gods, and use, corrupt as you do everything, her marvelous gift? The gods warned us, Aro, and we know now that there is only one possible end for this: war. Now here's a message for your people: none of your gifts will touch us because Bella is shielding us from them, however most of our gifts will be efficient against you. It is time for you to reconsider your loyalty. We will allow you to walk free if you surrender, we can give second chances when it is deserved. If you don't walk away now, you will most definitely be destroyed and die." Ragnar spoke.

He knew that it was common knowledge among his kind that the Vikings hadn't lost a fight, ever. Even as humans, they had won all of their fights and he knew that it would scare some people.

Bella smirked when Jane and Alec frowned, feeling that their gifts weren't working. If Aro had been able to pale, he would have, especially when Felix and Demetri left their ranks, bowed to Ragnar and went to stand with them, in front of Bella, ready to defend her for their new leaders. It looked like they had been waiting to switch sides for a very long time.

Once Felix and Demetri had showed their true sides, 3 others joined them, obviously they had been very close to the two and trusted their judgement.

Then, a couple of soldiers and witnesses left the ranks on Aro's side, running away from the fight and, once nobody else seemed to want to leave, Ragnar lead the charge against the enemy army in a loud and scary war cry that terrified a few more witnesses who decided to run away at the last minutes.

Rollo stayed by Bella's side, defending her while she used her gift to protect all of their friends and allies and everyone else fought, though it seemed to be a fairly easy fight, almost boring, and it was done quickly.

Soon, the wolves arrived with Bella's children to celebrate around the giant bonfire where the entire Voltury guard, along with the wives and the few allies that had fought by their side, where burning.

As they partied, they started making plans, when they'd go in Volterra to take over, how they would do it. Everyone liked that there would be an equal number of men and women in charge, and that everyone would get a fair say.

The next problem to solve was their new location.

Should they head to Volterra and stay there, establish their rule where the old kings did or stay where they loved to be? They didn't want to live in Volterra, but they couldn't stay in Fork, it would bring too many vampires and it would raise suspicions to the humans. They decided to go to Volterra anyway and stay there for a few years, long enough to find a new, better, place and to put everything back in order in their world.

They also wanted to sort through the old kings' archives and it would be easier to start their ruling, this new era, if people knew where to find them to settle differences.

Edward and Bree were slowly getting together, taking their time. After all, they had all the time they wanted, there was no need for them to rush.

.

The Viking Coven rule was popular. They were fair with other vampires and beloved by most people.

The fact that there was so many of them allowed the couple to take breaks and go on vacations from time to time and Rollo had to admit that the Seer had been right. This was a happiness stronger and better than anything he could have ever imagined for himself.

"Are you alright, Rollo?" Bella asked him as they watched their children play with a bear during hunting.

"Everything is perfect? Like dancing naked in the sun." He smiled.

"Maybe we should go and remind them that they shouldn't play too much with their food." She chuckled as her daughters argued to decide if they should comb the bear before they ate it.

So, it over. I know this ending os shorter than the rest of the story. I will rewrite it later, but right now, I was short on inspiration, sorry.

I hope you will review anyway. Tell me what you would have liked to see in there and I might include it when I rewrite it.
