In my mind's eye the station at Mountain Glenn resembles Antwerp Station. The images on a Bing/google search are worth a look and there is one of the better flash mob dance videos filmed in the main hall with the participants performing songs from Grease.

It is an interesting exercise writing a story which is primarily cinematic. My other stories have quite a lot of characters thinking or questioning themselves while this type of story requires more action. They also tend to rather verbose (reflects the author, I am afraid). I also tend to have only a few POVs a chapter while this type of story requires more cross cutting. The chapters are also shorter.

Conversations in italics indicate that Fox is using his telepathy semblance.

Jaune visualised Cinder's Mountain Glenn plan in his mind as Roman described it in detail. Velvet had brought up the schematics and photographs of Mountain Glenn station and the tunnels between there and Beacon

Roman said, "The White Fang have been there for three months mending the lines and clearing the debris from the explosion which was set off when Mountain Glenn was abandoned. They have reactivated three trains which were left in the sidings ten years ago and have opened the up and the down twin lines to the old Vale Central."

Jaune looked at the trains. They were the then top of the range high speed trains with an engine at each end.

Roman paused and smoked his cigar, "The dust which I have been stealing for the last six months has been taken to Mountain Glenn. The plan is to crash a train into the old Vale Central terminus which connected Mountain Glenn with the city and set off the dust."

Jaune thought about and decided to check with Dr. Oobleck. As he recalled the entrances to the Vale station have been blocked up with concrete, the buildings demolished. and the site converted into a small park surrounded by office buildings and shopping centres. At 12.30 they would normally be packed.

"The original aim was not to cause an explosion but to bring the Grimm into the city. A quarter of the stolen dust has been placed in the main engine and first carriage of trains on the down line together with a large bomb. More dust has been placed at strategic places in the old station. It is believed that the combination will collapse the park area into the station and allow access to the Grimm."

Jaune looked across at Velvet. She was looking at the schematics and using Fox's semblance said, "It sounds plausible. Does he know who is in charge of the project?"

Jaune asked "Roman, who is running this. From what I knew of Cinder Fall she was not a technical specialist."

Roman said, "Adam Taurus is the sponsor and set it up. He has left Vale for Mistral and the auction. The security side is run by someone known as the Lieutenant. A strong silent type who carries chainsaw. Absolutely loyal to Adam and the cause in that order. Professor Perry is the technical person. Looks like a milquetoast figure, but everyone treats him with respect."

A picture flashed up on Jaune's scroll and he showed it to Roman. "That's the fellow."

Velvet said, "We have to assume the explosion will work. He is first rate. We thought he had died when a joint kingdom task force took out a base in Mistral. His family certainly were killed."

Jaune cursed to himself, "Intelligent and motivated. A bad combination."

Jaune said, "How do the Grimm come into the equation? There cannot be that many underground Grimm and I would have thought that to clear the tracks they would have cleared the line."

"Every two miles above each of the up and the down line a borehole was drilled to allow ventilation. I am told that they have packed ten of those on the up line with the rest of the dust and more explosives. The idea is to blow holes in the ground between Mountain Glenn to allow the Grimm to get into the tunnel and follow the train into Vale. The bombs will be primed when the train passes over a trigger on the line and will automatically explode ten seconds later. They choose the airholes with the help of geologists and have weakened the tunnel."

Jaune saw how that would work in his own mind. "Fine I can see how the holes are created. It is still a long way to Vale. Why would the Grimm follow the train into Vale?"

There was another puff of the cigar, "It was considered unlikely that the mere appearance of holes in the ground would result in enough Grimm entering the tunnel and charging towards Vale. A source of negative emotions is needed for that."

"I have a bad feeling about this."

"You may have noticed an increase in the numbers of missing persons in Vale and its suburbs. Forty of them are currently at Mountain Glenn. Yesterday ten of the elite students at Vale university left for an adventure holiday where they were told that they would not have access to scrolls for the first few days. Shall we say that they had not signed up for the adventure they are about to have."

"Go on." Jaune had a bad feeling about where the plan was going.

"They are being kept in an old container in the station and fed well. They have been told that negotiations are underway with Vale for them to be ransomed. They are being well fed and treated well. They are restricted to the ballroom, dining room and staff showers and toilets in the hotel building in the station. The walls have been lined with lead to deaden any negative emotions they may have."

Another puff of the cigar. Velvet sent Jaune pictures from the old brochures. He could see that the homeless may feel that it was an improvement in their lifestyle and the young elite would be comforted to believe that they would get out alive.

Roman continued, "Last night knock out gas would have been fed into the ballroom where they are all sleeping. They will be woken up about now and find themselves bound securely to the seats in the second carriage of the train. In addition, some will have their auras unlocked at around 11.30 this morning."

"Unless I arrive to call off this part of the plan, the in-train entertainment system will be switch on at 12 and a prerecorded message from Adam Taurus will be played to them. To further bring home the threat he will take off his mask halfway through to make it clear that he means what he says."

Jaune imagined the impact on the hostages of seeing the scarred face.

Roman continued, "There will be cameras mounted on the rear engine which will show the roof collapsing and the Grimm following the train. These pictures will be shown over the in-train entertainment system."

Jaune thought about the effect on fifty panicked people watching the Grimm following the train. They would understandably be filled with negative emotions worrying about whether they will die in an explosion or by being torn apart by Grimm. The Grimm above ground would sense them and would follow the source.

"The train will be driven from the back engine. It can travel in reverse, and it will allow the driver to judge how quickly the train should go to avoid being overtaken by the Grimm while at the same time keeping the smell of fear in the nostrils of the Grimm. The driver has accepted that he will almost die."

Jaune looked at Roman, "How would this plan have helped Cinder get what she wanted?"

"She claimed that Ozpin would panic and would make for wherever Amber was being kept with his maiden candidate while every other huntsman in Vale and Beacon would have made for the city Centre. Cinder would follow him and take him out with help from me, Neo and some hired thugs."

"Seems to rely on a lot of things going her way."

"I think her main motivation was to encourage me to work out where the vault was and to come up with a better and simpler plan. After al I do live in Vale and would prefer to carry on enjoying it afterwards. Please believe that while I lie, steal, cheat, and do what I must to survive, I am not a total sociopath."

"How were you meant to stop the White Fang from attacking?"

"We were to go to Mountain Glenn this morning and give them a codeword calling off the main attack. She told me the codeword just before we started off for the mission last night. She said that she would finalise the getaway arrangements this morning so she might not join me but would instead meet me in Mistral."

"Why would the White Fang listen to you?"

"There was a plan B which was Instead of using the track with the primed explosives and the hostages to attract the Grimm, they were to use the other line and just use the explosives at the other end. There would still be an explosion in central Vale, a large hole in the ground, some civilian casualties but no pathway for the Grimm. It would still be a propaganda success for the White Fang, and they could have advertised their forbearance."

"How many members of the White Fang do you expect to be there?"

"Twenty scientists, engineers, and technicians. Twenty fighters. After all the Grimm would be expected to do the work and they tend not to distinguish between freedom fighters and oppressors." Roman smiled, "Or if you prefer between terrorists and innocent civilians."

"How were you intending to get there?"

Roman smiled, "Would you believe jumping out of a bullhead?"

Another puff on the cigar, "Neo would use her landing strategy. I would use a parachute. Do we have a deal on the signing on fee if they go with the plan without Grimm?"

Jaune hated making plans on the fly and having to use people he had no reason to trust. He had let Roman believe that he was still between two plans as he flew towards Mountain Glenn in a bullhead.

Plan A would have been to have a Cinder substitute turn up, give the password, and tell the White Fang that there was no need for the mission to take place. He had decided that this was not feasible. While a mask with Cinder's face had been practical and while Pyrrha and Yang was around the same height, the wig was not quite right. Besides which she had a different build to Cinder so the clothes did not fit even if you could ignore the damage caused by Neo's killing blow. Another twelve hours would have made this more viable, but they did not have the time. He had also rejected it on the grounds that he did not have enough recordings of Cinder's voice to duplicate it reliably.

Roman had volunteered Neo to cast an illusion and had said that few people knew Cinder well. "She was an arrogant woman and did not like speaking to people she thought were beneath her. People remember the condescension and not the exact accent."

Jaune had another reason for rejecting the fake Cinder alternative, but he was not going to tell Roman why unless the last minute.

It did not help that the Mountain Glenn Station was a temple of engineering and ambition. It was on four levels. The main entrance hall was 200 yards long and wide and 49 yards tall. It was built of stone and there was plenty of cover inside for snipers and machine gunners to make a frontal assault impractical. The one plus side was that the White Fang and NCS planners had decided that they would only need surveillance equipment immediately by the main entrance to the station. They had taken the view that having guards on the roof and setting up equipment on it gave rise to a risk of detection which was not worth the added security.

They instead went with a fake White Fang bodyguard for Roman. Velvet and Ruby were to accompany Neo and Roman into the station. Ruby was disguised with a bow on the head, glasses, and a prosthetic mask as well as the White Fang uniform. Velvet was not known to be a member of the IMF and clearly was a Faunus.

The rest of the people he had selected for the mission were hovering high above Mountain Glenn in a separate bullhead. They were ready to jump at a moment's notice.

He and Fox were also inside the first bullhead. Jaune placed his left hand on Fox's head and applied his semblance to boost Fox's ability to identify aura and communicate telepathically. With his right hand he switched on the surveillance footage. Ruby's glasses contained a camera which showed the inside of the bullhead. The other screens were blank, but Velvet was ready to unleash surveillance drones after she landed. The bullhead hovered in place for two minutes while Fox applied his semblance.

Inside the station a member of the White Fang known to her friends as Deary waited at one end of the vast entrance hall. She was the only person in view. She looked around the station and checked that all the fighters were in position. She regretted the expected damage to the station, but the Lieutenant had been clear that Cinder's instructions were that Roman had to be terminated with extreme prejudice and humiliation. No one had any problem with killing him or his sidekick. Cinder Fall had also warned the lieutenant not to underestimate them and to use overwhelming firepower.

It was 11.40 when the flamboyant criminal opened the imposing front door of the station. Besides Roman and Neo, there were two White Fang members. However, they remained at the entrance while the other two walked forward. Deary hoped that the two members could avoid being collateral damage. He noted that both had drawn their pistols and that they were aimed at Roman and Neo so maybe they were in on the plan.

Roman swaggered forward and walked down the marble staircase into the main hall. "Deary, it is good to see you. We had a successful mission last night. However, the lady in red sends her apologies but she has business elsewhere."

Deary said, "I am glad her mission was successful. I assume that you have a message for us."

"Of course. Cinder told me to tell you death to the Belladonnas."

"And may Vale become a nation of Grimm. Goodbye Roman. I am afraid that you were betrayed."

She pressed the instruction to open fire on her scroll.

From all round the station came the sounds of guns being cocked. Roman's sidekick unfurled her umbrella in response, but she could not hope to defend against all the bullets no matter how quickly she moved.

The sound of automatic weapons and dust grenades exploding rang out.

Ten minutes before Jaune heard Fox think, "There are at least thirty unlocked auras down there. They are spread over the place in what looks like a pre-planned formation."

Jaune nodded, he had been expecting this. "Fox, let me talk to everyone including Roman and Neo."

Jaune communicated via Fox's semblance "We are going for plan B. Roman, you told us that Cinder had no intention of leaving Peach alive. It looks like they either have instructions to eliminate you and Neo as potential witnesses or that the White Fang may have decided that they after doing so much arduous work they will carry out the more destructive plan in any event."

Roman grimaced, nodded ruefully and looked at Neo. The young woman smiled and grasped her parasol. It was odd hearing the voiceless girl communicating via Fox, "I want to take out the one with the chain saw."

"All operatives, be ready for plan shock and awe at my word. Velvet, prepare to use your Myrtenaster option. Fox has fed you the co-ordinates. Pyrrha and Weiss get ready to strut your stuff. Cardin, you and your team be ready for mopping up operations"

Dust and smoke covered the entrance to the station as the bullets and dust grenades went off. That was meant to happen. Deary had not expected the sound of breaking glass. She certainly had not expected white dust light to come through the smoke and debris and pick out the forces on the balustrades overlooking the entrance.

Not for the first time, she appreciated Adam's caution. The man had half-expected to be betrayed by Cinder Fall and the NCS and knew that Roman was not to be trusted. She sent the prepared signal to both trains and the control room.

The pre-recorded voice sang out, "Start the bullet train. Everyone in the lower floors, get to your places aboard the down train, it is leaving now. Start the third train moving."

Just them she saw what she could have sworn was a red flash coming through the settling smoke and heading down the stairs towards the departing trains.

She swore to herself and lifted her scroll to warn the others that company was on the way quicker than expected. Before she could do so she found the scroll knocked out of her hand and a grinning Neo threatening her throat with the point of a parasol.

Elsewhere she could see Pyrrha Nikos and Roman Torchwick taking out the soldiers who had survived the white light dust explosions. The Rabbit Faunus, Weiss Schnee and Jaune Arc were pounding down the stairs in pursuit of the red flash.

Suddenly she heard a voice in her head. It was Roman Torchwick, "Deary, as a gambling man, I could have told you that trying to kill me was a bet you just should not have taken."

Ruby reached the bottom of the stairs to see a train leaving the platform. She fired Crescent Rose and broke one of the couplings, so the rear engine and one carriage were no longer attached to the train.

She used Fox's semblance to shout out "Weiss, Velvet, Pyrrha. Nevermore protocol. Velvet you must be Blake, Jaune must be Pyrrha."

The three hunters jumped from the ground floor all the way to the lowest floor taking the hit to their aura. Velvet summoned a hard light version of Gambol Shroud and fired across the ribbon where it was caught by Pyrrha and wrapped round a pillar. Ruby balanced herself on the ribbon and Weiss used her glyphs to convert it into a slingshot. Weiss concentrated hard. This was a harder shot than the first time she had made it. Ruby shouted, "Are you going to make the shot?"

Yang responded, "You are not helping." She made a minor adjustment and let the slingshot go. A turbocharged Ruby disappeared down the tunnel. A few seconds later, they received a message, "I am aboard the train. Unfortunately, there is another one in front of it."

Velvet swore to herself, "Weiss, Jaune, we need to get this engine working and chase the others down."

Upstairs Fox reported, "The only auras left conscious here are ours and the Deer Faunus. We can leave the station to the regular army and Pyrrha."

A few seconds later Roman, Neo, Jaune and Fox jumped down from the first floor. Neo had brought a terrified Deer Faunus with her.

Jaune asked his comrade, "Vee, can you drive this?"

"I think so." She got in the main engine and was joined by Weiss.

Roman then chipped in, "I suggest you leave Deary to me and Neo. We will find out the plan."

He then said, "Just tell yourselves that we will not be torturing her physically. Neo is very inventive psychologically with her illusions."

Jaune contacted Cardin, "Let Oobleck know that trains have left on both lines. We must assume that the White Fang will be a potential second wave after the Grimm attack. Ruby is on the track of the main train. Tell him and Ozpin to evacuate ground zero as a matter of urgency."

While far from perfect there is an entertaining You Tube video entitled RWBY Trailer - Mission Impossible 4 by a creator called Phos kryfes which is worth watching and has at least one inspired cut.
