A/N: Happy New Year!
Dear FFN readers, my new story, 'Such Novel Notion' begins posting today. The entire story is posted at AHA and is also on Kindle. This time I have had the story beta'ed, and therefore it should not have too many mistakes. If you see any, I would truly appreciate your letting me know.
The prologue is short and shocking (I hope!), but I will not leave you in the shocked state for too long. I am planning to post two chapters per week, most likely on Thursdays. The whole story has 32 chapters + a prologue and an epilogue.
Thank you for giving this story a try! Please be aware that this story with the exception of the first 3 chapters will be removed on May 1, 2022.

All verifiable historical characters, buildings and events appearing in this story are borrowed purely as vehicles in a work of fiction, and any similarity to real persons, living or dead, is coincidental and not intended by the author. The description of Regency-period customs benefits greatly from many internet sites that focus on these topics.

Prologue
The Grove, Rosings Estate
"Madam, you are too kind to trifle with me. Good day."
He bowed, then turned and wanted to be as far from this enchantress as possible.
"Don't go…please."
Mr. Darcy turned around slowly and stared at his love with an inscrutable expression.
Elizabeth, on seeing that Mr. Darcy responded to her entreaty, took two long strides closer, and said with urgency, "A man who has once been refused could never be foolish enough to renew the offer. Is there one among the sex who would not protest against such a weakness as a second proposal to the same woman?"
On seeing Mr. Darcy frowning at this pronouncement, Elizabeth plucked up her courage and continued firmly, "If said woman desires a second proposal, she must disregard the indignity so abhorrent to his feelings and propose herself. Mr. Darcy, will you accept my hand in marriage?"
