CHAPTER 26

"My barefaced subjects will make short work of you!" King Bob-omb declares as he begins throwing Bob-ombs at Yashil and Azura.

"Get behind me!" Yashil yells at Azura. Azura nods and does so, Yashil wraps his long tongue around a Bob-omb and throws it back at the Mustached Monarch, who ducks the explosion.

King Bob-omb continues to throw bombs at them. Each one goes flying through the air, missing them by inches. Yashil manages to catch another one and tosses it at the king. This one hits him square in the face! He bounces around on the floor.

"Your feeble resistance is no match for my mustache!" shouts the King. "Prepare to die!" He produces a bomb, a ridiculously large one. It's shaped like a huge fist. King Bob-omb places it on his hand. "This bomb is so powerful, even I cannot withstand its fury! Prepare yourselves, peasants!"

The King winds up his massive bomb punch, then lets it go! The fist flies at them with such force that it leaves a hole in the wall behind them when the two heroes barely manage to dodge. The "rocket fist" returns itself back to King Bob-omb's hand and reattaches.

"Foolish peasants!" booms the King. "You should have known better than to cross me!" He produces yet another bomb. This one is shaped like a giant hammer. "Now you shall pay for your insolence! Hammer Bomb!"

The King swings his Bomb Hammer, which is bigger than he is, at the two heroes. He misses, sending the Hammer Bomb blasting the wall where the heroes were moments ago. The hammer bounces back to the King's hand.

"I can do this all day, peasants!" declares the King. He launches a third bomb, a bomb shaped like a spiked mace. He swings it at the two. They dodge, narrowly avoiding getting impaled. "One more time!" He swings at Azura, who is now wielding her own magical Spear. A shield appears around her, deflecting the attack and causing the Bomb Mace to explode.

"Impressive" remarks King Bob-omb. "I'll just focus on your friend then!" He turns to face Yashil. "Now you are mine!" he says.

Yashil looks over at him. "Do you really think I'm going to let you take me alive?"

King Bob-omb laughs. "Oh, I doubt that! Thankfully it does not matter to any of us if you are alive or dead!"

He prepares to swing the Bomb Hammer again. Yashil looks at him. "I've got a better idea!"

Yashil grabs King Bob-omb as he winds up and uses all his strength to push him through the outside facing wall! The King crashes through the wall and comes tumbling out of the castle. He hits the ground hard, rolling along the ground until he stops.

"Huh, what? What happened?" he asks, before realizing. "Fight me with honor!" He yells up to Yashil. "Come on, show me what you got!"

Yashil ignores him and runs off. Azura takes advantage of his distraction, takes her spear, and hurls it at the King. He defends himself with his Bomb Hammer. The Spear pierces his hammer, but he stays standing.

"Give up already, peasant!" he barks, his voice echoing throughout the ruins. "You and your friends are pitiful!"

"I will never surrender!" Yells Azura. "...Besides, you may have noticed I used some fire magic on that spear." She says smirking.

King Bob-Omb looks at his Bomb Hammer and sees its fuse has been lit. "What the hell?" he exclaims. "How did you do that?!"

His expression changes as the Bomb Hammer detonates. It blasts the King's entire body in half. His torso falls to the ground, while his legs fly through the air. "Well, this is most unfortunate." his upper half says.

Azura runs off, following Yashil. She catches up to him in the ruins, where they continue their journey through the ruined city. They've escaped the tower, now they need to reconvene with the Rainbow Alliance.

The Rainbow Alliance are following a map of the Mushroom Kingdom that Peach has created.

"Are you sure this is an appropriate side track?" Zelda asks Peach. "We still have no idea what Bowser and Ganon are capable of."

Peach shrugs. "I know it seems risky, but the only way we're going to find out is by meeting up with her. She tries to act cute and royal, but when you make her angry…She's not exactly above tearing you in half. Besides, we have the best possible motivation to get her to help us."

Zelda sighs. "All right. If you say so."

They continue following the map until they reach a sign that says "Sarasaland".

An alarm clock begins blaring next to an orange canopy bed, a dainty manicured hand reaches out from under the covers and smashes the alarm clock into several pieces before throwing it out the window. A tall, slender figure rises from the bed. Her orange hair is a mess. She picks up her phone and begins texting someone. Her phone buzzes and she reads a text.

"How ya doin cousin?" She reads aloud. "Going to surprise you with a visit."

It takes the groggy princess a minute to realize what is happening. Suddenly her eyes grew wide. "Holy cow! Peach is coming over! I gotta get ready!"

She jumps out of bed and runs to the bathroom, flicking on the light switch. As she looks in the mirror, she realizes her hair isn't quite how she wants it. She quickly styles and hair sprays it back into place. She runs back into her wardrobe and changes from her baggy t-shirt and shorts into a pimped out orange dress.

"There, that should do it." She declares. "Time to go greet my favorite cousin!"

The princess runs out of her bedroom, stumbling a bit to put on her heels, then slides down the stairs banister. As she heads through a hallway, she stops to admire a framed picture of Luigi. She sighs happily.

"I haven't been so excited to see someone since our anniversary" she fawns. "Come on sweetie, let's get a kiss for good luck!"

She kisses the picture, regains her elegant demeanor and walks toward the front entrance. Her large flower painted doors knock, she opens them to see Peach.

"Peach!" she yells.

"Daisy!" Peach yells.

The two cousins embrace each other warmly. Daisy pulls away and hugs Peach again. "You look great!"

"Thank you so much!" Peach smiles. "I thought I'd come visit you before I meet up with Bowser and Ganon."

"Oh yeah! Luigi texted me and said he was going to join you on that!" Daisy says. "How is he by the way?! I haven't heard from him in days!"

Peach's warm smile slowly inverts into a sorrowful frown. "I think you better sit down." She says, guiding her by the hand to a couch.
