CHAPTER 28

As the large winged shadow obscures the sun, the Rainbow Alliance looks up to see Gleeok! Its four heads roar in a horrifying harmony. "WE ARE THE FOUR HEADED ONE! WE HAVE COME FOR THE LARGE YOSHI AND THE ZORA PRINCESS!"

Gleeok begins its attack by launching giant multicolored fireballs from its mouth.. The Rainbow Alliance screams and begins to panic.

"This is bad!" Zelda screams.

Yashil and Azura refuse to give into fear however. They stand their ground against this quartet-headed abomination. Azura summons a spear."We can take it!" Yashil shouts, taking Azura's trident. He begins to chant and the trident becomes electrified. He fires at one of Gleeok's four heads. The head disintegrates in an explosion of green energy.

"Nice!" Azura cheers.

"Thanks, now it's going to come for us though!" Yashil yells.

"Not if I can help it!"

As Gleeok dives towards the two, Azura summons a watery shield to protect them. However, Gleeok is too fast and strikes at the shield with one of its wings. The shield shatters, leaving the two defenseless.

"Get ready Yashil!" Azura shouts as she charges forward and launches herself at Gleeok. She summons another trident in midair and stabs its wing. Forcing the now three headed dragon to the ground.

"I gotcha!" Yashil shouts as he drives his trident into one of Gleeok's necks, causing it to convulse. Gleeok roars in pain, while the head forces itself off the neck and flies through the air, acting independently from the rest of its body. "I've had enough of you!" Yashil yells as he swings his trident. It strikes one of the remaining heads, knocking it off of Gleeok's body and also acting on its own. Gleeok shakes the pain away and knocks Yashil off its body.

"We can't just stand here!" Zelda says. "Link! Do something!"

Link nods and charges at Gleeok, slashing its body with the Master Sword. He slices the beast completely in half. The two halves of Gleeok soon fade into a yellow dust.

The Rainbow Alliance cheer for their latest victory, Maxil emerges from his hiding spot. "Wow, I never knew you were that strong!" he gasps.

Yashil smiles. "You're welcome."

Zelda steps forward. "We need to get moving. Look! The moon is getting closer!"

Maxil looks up in the sky and sees the moon's new position. "It's the Moon of Majora. I recognize it from a story of a previous Skull Kid" he says. "It looks like you have 2 days before it crashes...you're also going to need a Skull Kid to prevent the moon from crashing."

"Like you?" Zelda asks.

"Of course!" Maxil says. "I'm going to be the greatest Skull Kid ever! I can do anything!"

"Yeah yeah whatever!" Daisy says. "Kid said we have two days to stop this! We're burning moonlight just standing here!" Daisy marches on ahead.

"What's her problem?" Maxil asks.

"It's a long story," Peach says, following Daisy.

The group is traveling through the Woods when they come across a strange figure sitting at a stand selling masks. He has a large smile on his face and his eyes follow Peach and Link. Link points him out to Peach.

"Hey Daisy!" Peach calls out, physically restraining her from passing by. "Hold on a minute."

"We have a tight schedule, cous!" Daisy says. "We don't have time to go shopping!"

"But I-" Peach begins, but Daisy pushes her aside, storming towards the strange man. She slams her fist on the stand attempting to scare him off...he just sits there though...Giggling.

"What is this place?" Daisy asks, her voice shaking. "What are you doing here?

The strange man just giggles "You've met with a terrible fate, haven't you?" he says.

Daisy glares at him angrily.

"I am the Happy Mask Salesman" he explains, still smiling "I'm not going anywhere, though it seems you've a place to be."

The Happy Mask Salesman looks up into a clearing and sees the Moon is much bigger, due to it being closer to their planet.

"The Moon of Majora is coming to our world" he says, "and it will destroy everything!" He begins laughing "Never did I think that one of my masks would cause this."

"What?!" Daisy asks, looking up at the sky. "Is that true?"

"Yes." The Masked Man says. "A man named "Ganon" gave me a fortune for it. Who am I to deny such beautiful gems?" His eyes narrow as he giggles. "However, what good is chaos if you cannot spread it? That is why I made a mask to stop it! A special mask that only those who deserve it may wear." The Masked Man pulls a mask out from behind him. It looks like a Mask of Majora except the colors are inverted. "I call this the "Mask of Inversion ``. It is the most powerful mask I have ever created."

He hands it to Daisy and she stares at it in awe. "Wow..." she whispers. She's suddenly mesmerized by it, as if her murderous intentions to teach those who murdered Luigi suddenly went away. Nothing else matters, except this mask….She puts it on… and screams!

The color of her skin slowly morphs into that of a pale snowfall and her hair to a blackness as thick as oil, her eyes red as two healthy apples. She is now a solid white figure, as she tries to comment on her new feeling she lets out a gut wrenching scream! For her mouth has been forced open, as she reaches into it. Her mouth has been filled with sharp jagged teeth.

The Happy Mask Salesman bursts into laughter as the Rainbow Alliance stares at Daisy in horror.

"I apologize for that" The Masked Man says, still smiling. "It is the mask's effect. It isn't meant to be comfortable. Especially to those who are unworthy of it." He rips the mask off Daisy and she falls to the ground, reverting back to her original form. "She'll be fine, just give her some time." The Masked Man laughs. "Come on, you have to try it!" he says, handing it to Link. "I feel you'll have better luck with it." He says giggling.

Link takes it and visibly hesitates, staring at Daisy who is just stirring. He looks at Zelda, then at Peach, then back down to the mask.

He puts it down and motions for Peach to come to him. She does, and he takes her hand, bowing his head. Peach's hand shines through the darkness of the Lost Woods. When Link releases her hand, another half of the Triforce appears in her hand.

"The Triforce of Courage!" Zelda says. "Link must think you're worthy of it".

"I-I guess so..." Peach says. "Thank you, Link. I promise to use it wisely"

Link gives a big smile to Peach, nods, then puts on the mask.

Then everyone holds their breath as they wait to see what will happen...
