CHAPTER 33
15 Hours Remain...
The Rainbow Alliance with their remaining Toad Armies reach the battlefield, which is a massive plain filled with tons of destructible blocks and crates, the grounds are eerily silent.
"Peach" Naranjo breaks the silence. He reaches into his backpack and hands her some letters. "Incase we never make it back, I want you to have these letters. They're from your mother before you and your father went off to war."
"Thank you Naranjo." Peach says, accepting them. "The first thing I'll do when I am queen is read these." She sticks them into her pocket.
"Let's not make assumptions," Azura says. "The field is too quiet to be so close to Ganon's tower."
"She's right," Zelda nods. "Ganon always lays out some sort of trap for those who wish to storm his own territory".
"Here we go!" Daisy screams with reckless abandon.
She pulls her Bob-omb cannon out, and charges down the battlefield towards the tower.
"No!" Peach shouts. "Daisy, stop!"
"Peach, I can handle this! Don't be such a-"
Suddenly, before Daisy can even finish her sentence she trips a wire, setting off the alarm! The wall above the tower door rises, and a giant spider golem emerges from it!
"Perhaps you should have taught your cousin the element of surprise" Yashil states.
"Nah, I think the crazy lady is surprised already!" Maxil chimes in.
"I'm okay with that!" Daisy gasps as she fires her weapon at the golem. "Eat Bob-omb! Chump!"
The Bob-omb flies through the air, smashing into the spider golem's head. The golem explodes, covering Daisy in bits of rubble. The golem is still standing however, it just has its skull exposed. There's a large jewel in the center of its forehead.
"Sheesh! This guy's a toughie!" Daisy screams.
"Zel, use your magic! Now!" Peach orders.
Zelda fingers glow brightly as she prepares an incantation. A huge pillar of lightning erupts from the sky, zapping the golem's head! The jewel within it shatters!
"Daisy, do another one!" Peach commands.
"YEAH!" Daisy cries, charging her Bob-omb and firing yet again!
This time her Bob-omb hits the Golem square in the abdomen. Link charges up to the golem spider, picks it up, and slams into the ground. He begins blasting away at the gem with his four arms, breaking it. The spider golem jumps away from Link.
"Allow us to handle this" Naranjo says and his Toads line up to fire Bullet Bills at the golem's prosoma.
"Once they break that beast, we can control it for our own side!" Azura says, readying her Blue Toads.
"Great idea" Daisy agrees.
Suddenly, the golem roars and leaps into the air. It lands on the group of Toads, knocking them away like bowling pins.
"Help!" They cry.
Azura takes her spear and prepares some chanting. Suddenly, a blue fog surrounds the golem. As soon as the mist clears, the golem is completely immobilized.
"Thanks, Azura!" Peach calls out.
"You're welcome Peach" she replies. "Now take control of this". She orders her Blue Toads.
Azura's army breaks off enough of its stony armor to reveal its final jewel. They then reverse engineer it to hold control over it.
"Wow! We got a cool battle monster!" Maxil cheers from Azura's soldiers.
"Makes me wonder what else is lurking in that tower," Peach ponders.
"We need to find out," Zelda says, approaching the tower. "We don't have much time"
"You're going to have even lesssssss" hisses a familiar voice.
"Oh no…" Peach says, her eyes growing wide.
Emerging from the same hole the golem spider entered from is Solar, dragging out a new laser.
"Solar, NO!" Naranjo declares.
"Don't worry General, I only brought thissssssss with me because I knew you'd be coming after usssssss." He laughs. "Did you really think ssssssssuch a sssssssmall avalanche would do usssssss in?!"
"Honestly? Kind of was" Peach says bluntly.
"You know, I might not have been able to beat you directly but I am sssssmart enough to know who the leaderssssss of a kingdom are!" Solar points at Zelda with one of its three heads. "And ssssssssince you're the daughter of the King of Hyrule...Perhapsssssss my massssssster will reward me with you asssssss my new queen!"
"NO WAY!" Zelda screams.
"Why not?" Solar cocks its head at her. "Your father isssssssss dead anyway. Ssssssso is your mother. They were lossssssssst in our raid of your casssssssstle! You've been abandoned by the two people who care about you most. I know your ssssssssssecret! You sssssssshould be the Queen of Hyrule! You're jussssssssst too ssssssssscared to take charge!"
"Even if I'm worried I'm not good enough to be Queen, there's no way you're ever going to become King of Hyrule!" Zelda cries out.
"You don't have a choice in thissssss matter, my Queen!" Solar states.
Solar raises his laser, preparing to blast Zelda. Link jumps in front of the laser, taking the hit for her. Link groans in pain. His new ancient body is covered in burns. He gets up, his body shaking. Naranjo and his newly recovered Orange Toads get in front of Link. "At ease, soldier!" He states. "We have a bone to pick with this overgrown garden worm for trying to melt my homeland!"
"No worries, General '' Solar states. "I'll do the honorsssss myssssssssself."
Solar prepares his laser, preparing to shoot at Naranjo. Link grabs Naranjo out of the way.
"Fire!" yells Naranjo. The Orange Toads nod and fire their Bullet Bills at Solar and his laser.
"You're gonna pay for thisssssssss!" Solar yells, dodging the attacks.
"Heh..." Naranjo grins. "You see...I got that part right. Wave 2! Fire!"
As the Bullet Bills fly at him, Solar charges his laser! He melts the Bullet Bills out of the sky!
"Isssssss that all you got, General?" Solar sneers.
"Wave 2 is more than just Bullet Bills, buddy!" Naranjo announces. "Check your grounds!"
Solar looks down and sees several bob-ombs that were launched below him. Daisy charges at him and blasts all the Bob-ombs with a point blank Bullet Bill. Causing the entire area Solar was standing to explode! Solar screams as he falls from his perch, parts of the tower begins to collapse and fall on him and his now broken laser. Soon he is buried in rubble.
"Looks like he won't be getting up anytime soon" Naranjo smirks as he's put back on the ground by Link .
"Awesome idea on the "Dodge Bomb Volley" strategy, General!" Daisy yells. She kneels down to give him a high five.
"Yeah, we need to be getting into that tower though," Zelda says. "Before we run out of time"
The Rainbow Alliance advances into the tower, as the moon grows ever closer to their planet.
