Ayeee, we back. Go for it.

It felt strange wearing the Beacon Academy uniform once more. Truthfully, it didn't feel as prestigious or important as it once had. Before, it had felt like this great weight but now, it was nothing but cloth. Maybe it was because he had originally believed it to have been the first step in becoming a hero. To be just like his father and grandfather. Now, it felt no more than nostalgic. He already experienced the outside and fought in the Grimmlands. It was different living the dangers and trying to return to the safety and comfort of classes and lessons.

He sighed, expertly containing the large amounts of excitement he had for learning... again.

His first morning as the (re-elected?) leader of Team JNPR began quietly enough. He woke at the crack of dawn, taking care of his hygiene concerns before going on a run. Returning to the dormitory after roughly an hour, he stepped back in as quietly as he had left. He saw that his teammates had still been asleep, so after a quick shower and putting on most of the Beacon Academy uniform, he returned into the room. For a moment, he simply decided to watch his team rest, not much changing in their sleeping habits.

Nora still slept with fork in hand and half her body hanging off the bed. Ren was as perfect as can be, showing zero signs of movement except the rise and fall of his chest. And Pyrrha was cuddling her pillow and snoring slightly.

Jaune took the time to reminisce when he had been able to sleep like that. There were several times the rest of his team beat him up in the mornings. However, the years on the road had carved him into someone who couldn't sleep easily or for very long. Not anymore. His time with Ruby when they were Team RNJR had stuck with him when they had to switch who was on lookout and the time in the Grimmlands made him a very light sleeper.

He chuckled to himself, shaking his head at how much older he sounded. He had only been twenty-three when he was sent back and here he was, talking as if he was an old veteran remembering his time in the war.

Shaking his head before his train of thought could fall down a dark turn, Jaune stood up and moved to the kitchen to busy himself. A busy mind couldn't and wouldn't focus on the darkness that lied in its past. Pulling out the necessary items, he put on an extremely large pot of coffee.

Nora had been the first to wake up, lured by the smell of fresh coffee brewing. She crawled out of bed, fork still in hand, and carried herself into the kitchen. She rubbed one eye with the back of her hand and yawned as she walked in to see Jaune busy pouring himself a hot cup of the dark liquid.

"Is that coffee?" She asked, her turquoise eyes glistening.

Jaune turned to her, swirling the cup a few times before meeting her gaze. "It is. Would you like some?" He knew that was a very dangerous thing to have said. Jaune knew what coffee did to her but he couldn't outright deny her seeing as they were supposed to be newly acquainted.

Nora grinned and he could tell that she was thinking something devious. He knew her tells and of the crazy stories Ren told him of Nora's coffee escapades. So, he pulled out the trump card that Ren had taught him years ago. He gave her The Look.

The smirk on her face vanished instantly and her eyes widened. She looked at him, the pot of coffee, then to where Ren slept. "I... no thank you," she said, her tone soft. She retreated back and looked down at the floor like an ashamed child. "I, uh, I get hyper when I drink coffee... So, it's not good for me to have any."

"I see," Jaune said, feigning newfound understanding. He knew too darn well. He stepped forward and placed a hand on top of her head, rubbing it back and forth like he would with his sisters. "Thank you for telling me the truth, Nora. You're such a good girl."

The shorter redhead's eyes widened and she shot up to look at him. "W-What did you just say?"

Jaune cocked his head to the side in confusion. "Thanks for telling the truth?"

"No! The other thing!" She exclaimed, moving closer to him.

He was a bit taken aback by the seriousness in her eyes. "That you're a good girl?"

She looked to let the compliment sink in before she shivered, sucking in a sharp breath. "Mm, Nora likes that~." She whispered to herself. Jaune looked at the very odd expression on her face with slight concern but quickly chalked it up to Nora being Nora and moved on, deciding it was time to get the others up if they wanted to make breakfast. There would be no repeats of their first day of school. He couldn't tell which would have killed him, Port or his hunger.

Nora offered to go for her tried and true method of waking up Ren. She moved to his bed and straddled his chest, staring at him until he finally conceded to his ruined dreams and decided to wake up.

If there was something that didn't change, it was definitely Ren's bedhead. Albeit, the fact that his was longer, it created a bigger mess. Jaune couldn't stop himself from chuckling. That was until he yawned and the knight's breath hitched. The way he covered a hand over his mouth, the way his back arched, and the moment after when the pink streaked bro's eyes landed on his.

Jaune was pretty positive he wasn't batting for the other team but holy crap did his best bro look good.

When Ren finally focused on him, he blushed and looked away. Actually blushed! Deciding it best, he pulled his own focus away from his fellow man and turned his attention to his own partner.

Jaune didn't think that the Nora method would go over well with Pyrrha, so he approached her bed and gently pushed her shoulder.

"Pyrrha? Pyrrha, it's time to wake up."

The Myrmidon groaned, hugging the pillow tighter to her chest. "Mmmmm, I don't wanna."

"Come on, Pyrrha. We can't be late for class."

She turned away from him, pulling the blankets tighter. "Nooo... World cold, bed warm."

So another Pyrrha trait that hadn't changed. It made him smile at how much of her was still the same. "Pyrrha, this is unbecoming of a future Huntress." He couldn't stop his amusement slipping into his tone as a chuckle.

The redheaded warrior said nothing and the light rise and fall of her side showed she had somehow fallen back asleep. The tabloids would have a field day if they realized how much of a lazy girl the Champion of Mistral was.

Jaune shook his head, knowing of the figurative death warrant his partner just signed turning her back to him. Nora pushed Ren into the bathroom before following behind him. Jaune shrugged, knowing the two were close. The knight then looked around the dorm room for one of his go to's when it came to waking his partner up. It came in the form of a half finished water bottle that he had pulled from the fridge after his run. It was still cold with a decent amount of condensation on the outside of the bottle.

"Last warning, Pyrrha. If you don't comply, you'll have forced my hand..." She didn't reply and he sighed.

Pyrrha yelped and jumped a foot off the bed when a cold wet bottle touched the back of her neck. She couldn't even land properly, her limbs wrapped in the blanket as she slammed onto the floor. Jaune moved over to her side and squatted down beside the fallen warrior.

"Are you awake now?"

Pyrrha leapt up to her feet, still wrapped in her blanket, and started to blearily mumble out increasingly imaginative threats upon his person as she jumped up and down like a dancing bean.

Jaune, still smiling, listened to them all, staring at his partner. Yup, it was definitely still Pyrrha. He didn't know how many times he told himself that this or that was the same but he would continue to do so. She was back in his life. Still as Pyrrha as ever. In her elegance, grace, kindness, and beauty.

"And when I-... Why are you smiling at me like that?" Pyrrha asked, the fire in her eyes dying immediately. The way his smile was brightening the room was stomping out her threats. How was she supposed to promise him pain for disrupting her sweet dreams when he was smiling like that? Stop smiling like that!

"Go get ready," he told her, just as Nora and Ren emerged from the bathroom. He turned to them. "I'll be across the hall to wake up Team RWBY. I'll be sure to knock before I get back."

Jaune made his way outside and closed the door.

He could get used to living like this again. School with his friends again. Pyrrha was back in his life and as vibrant as ever. His best bro was here, somehow beating the odds of no male having aura. Nora was Nora. And the entirety of Team RWBY was together as well. It felt like a dream and it was one he'd never want to wake from.

The young man knocked on the door to his sister team's dorm and waited.

It wasn't long after that the door did open and a familiar bob of black with red tips poked her head out.

"Huh? Oh, hey Jaune," Ruby greeted with a friendly smile.

"Mornin' Ruby," Jaune greeted in kind. "I just thought to come by and ask if you want to join my team and I for breakfast."

"Oh, uhh," Ruby peaked back into the room where he could hear music playing. There was also some movement of things like the desks and bed. No doubt they were rearranging their furniture. "We might skip breakfast. Kinda busy at the moment."

"That's fine," he answered simply with a smile. "I would recommend eating something though. You never know what could come our way.

"Right! I'll be sure we do that!"

"Good. And don't be late for class."

"Will do!" She saluted before the door closed.

"Pancakes~! Pancakes~! Pancakes~!"

"Nora, don't overdo it. We still have classes in an hour. You know pancakes make you..." He trailed off as he remembered. The first class was Grimm Studies. "You know what, nevermind. Get as many as you want."

"Yay! Thanks Jaune-Jaune!"

"I gave up trying to convince her years ago."

"Wait, Jaune, where did you get the porridge?" Pyrrha asked, turning back towards him.

He threw a thumb behind him. "Like three stations down. There's one with apple slices, one with peaches. Personally, I like it with blackberries or strawberries."

"I'll be right back. You guys go on ahead and grab a table without me." The redheaded champion then turned and headed back to find the breakfast item.

Ren, Nora, and Jaune shared a look before shrugging and deciding to do as their teammate said. To their joy, it didn't take long for them to find one and they sat down on the same side. It was only a split second between the trays hitting the table that Nora plopped down and began to swallow her pancakes before pouring the syrup down her gullet.

"Thish ish goin' to be aweshome!" Nora exclaimed with a mouthful of food.

Ren sighed and went to move but Jaune beat her to it. He snatched up a napkin and, taking the girl's face in one hand, started dabbing at the syrup covering the hyper girl's cheeks.

"Nora, don't talk with your mouth full," he chastised lightly, a small smile on his face. It was very much like how an older brother would clean after his little sister. "I know you're excited about the day but mind your manners."

The small girl allowed him to clean her until there wasn't a speck of syrup, completely unmoving, watching him as he smiled down on her. He seemed so happy, doing something so simple as wiping her face. There was no annoyance or disdain. He genuinely enjoyed it.

While the normally exuberant girl kept a straight face as he wiped away the crumbs she couldn't help the slight dusting of pink that colored her cheeks.

She wondered if situations like this were common in a family. If this was what it was like having an older brother.

Ren, on the other side of the seating, could only watch, slightly surprised at how Jaune spoke gently to her and was caring for her. He didn't seem upset, or weirded out, or anything but content.

In fact, she noticed how he had been quite patient with her childhood friend since they had met. Ren knew that Nora could be a bit too much at times. Even she reached her wits end at points but that never took away from the fact she still loved her sister. So Ren knew, to most, Nora seemed almost unapproachable due to her eccentric nature or lack of awareness of her strength. But Jaune, he was well aware of all of that, and yet he hadn't been thrown off by it at all. It seemed like he was used to her overzealousness and knew how to counter or calm her. She dared to think that it was pretty attractive that he knew how to, too.

"There, all better," he said, smiling brightly at a still blushing Nora.

"T-Thanks, Jaune..." Nora muttered before picking up her fork once more. She went back to eating, albeit a bit more cautious of spilling something on herself.

"No problem, Nora. I know it's exciting being our first official day at Beacon," Jaune replied, rubbing the top of her head.

The girl perked up once again. "Heck yeah! Think they'll let us fight some Grimm on our first day!?"

"I highly doubt it, Nora," Ren replied, wiping her mouth after swallowing.

Jaune casted his eyes off to the side with a hollow smile, his eyes glazed with a knowing look. "Heh, you never know, Ren. You never know..." Jaune did know, of course. Aura or no aura, Professor Port would find a way. That man seemed to be one of very few who hadn't changed.

"Hey, aren't you the freshman that everyone has been ranting and raving about?"

The new voice caught the trio's attention and they turned. Standing by the table, and very close to Jaune, a young woman stood. She was tall, almost reaching him in height if he was standing. She had brown hair with equally brown eyes and a fair complexion.

"Yeah yeah, the first guy on Remnant who has aura, right?"

Jaune shared a glance with Nora and Ren before turning back to her. "Yeah, that sounds like me."

She placed her hand on the table before leaning down to stare directly into his eyes.

"You're definitely a cutie, even with that nasty scar," she said with a grin. "How about we train sometime and I show you the ropes? Just the two of us."

"Sorry, but that won't be necessary," a familiar voice chimed in. The four turned to see Pyrrha standing behind them, tray in hand. "And I'll ask you politely to step away from my partner."

The girl obliged, standing back to full height but did not back down and folded her arms. "It's not a big problem. I'm just doing my part as an upperclassman by helping out my underclassman."

Pyrrha lifted a lone brow. "Is that so?"

The girl smirked. "That is so. I'm sure you understand I can help him become a pretty darn good Huntsman. I am one of the top Huntresses in my year."

The Myrmidon smiled but Jaune had learned to read a person decently enough. Especially Pyrrha after their time together. "While he appreciates your offer, he'll have to decline. His team is more than capable of training with him. And I'm more than a capable enough partner."

The girl scoffed. "Oh yeah? Didn't you hear what I just said? I'm pretty sure I can teach him the ways of a Huntress better than you can."

Jaune could visibly see his partner's patience start to wane. He moved a tad closer to Nora, ensuring he was out of range. It wasn't like his Pyrrha to have so little patience but there was still little he knew and it was possible his partner may have a new zero tolerance policy.

"You possibly could. But seeing as I, Pyrrha Nikos, have my doubts about your intentions with my partner, you understand why I'm hesitant to just agree, right?"

Now this caused the girl to freeze. The trio could see the doubt on her face and knew that their teammate had her. It was a surprise the girl hadn't recognized her but, eh, it originally took Weiss having to tell Jaune of his partner's sponsorship on Pumpkin Pete's cereal box.

"Tch, whatever," the girl eventually said. She turned and walked away, most likely back to her table to lick her wounds. It wasn't often a senior would get told off by a junior and Jaune had to admit, it was a little funny.

Pyrrha immediately took her place beside him, opposite of Nora. Her eyes were closed and she took the first bite of porridge. She still seemed a little agitated, sipping her drink in a very aggressive manner.

It was up to her partner to save the day!

"You know I could have just as easily rejected her," Jaune said with an amused smile.

"Yes, but she would have persisted. I know her kind and she would have continued to bother you even if she hadn't succeeded today."

Jaune had an amused smirk. "Didn't I tell you I didn't need protecting?" He teased.

Pyrrha opened one eye and turned it towards him. "You said that about the Grimm. You never said anything about the thirsty girls who are going to be actively hunting you." She promptly chomped on her fruit.

The knight chuckled but he soon noticed that no one else joined in and his eyes widened slightly. "Oh wait, you're serious."

"Of course I am," Pyrrha answered, setting her utensils down. "Jaune, you're the first man to possess aura in history. The first male to attend a Huntress Academy. You are among nothing but teenage girls who are attending a Combat School. Here, emotions run high, and you are a young and accessible guy."

The light finally went off in his head as the sudden realization finally hit. "Oh shit..." But then he paused. "Wait, what about Ren?"

"Huh?"

"Jaune, we've been over this. Ren is a girl," Nora answered.

The boy went to answer but stopped, mouth left open. He looked at the duo on his left. Then he looked at Pyrrha on his right. Then he looked back at Ren and really stared at his bro. The feminine features, the obvious use of feminine care products, the lip gloss that made the martial artist's lips shine. And finally, he looked at himself.

The first memory of when he came to this world hit like a freight train. His eyes widened, his jaw slackened, and he slowly realized what his friends had been telling him.

Ren was a "girl" to hide from Lil' Miss! It all made sense now! He was too damn pretty that he would have definitely been a target for the man trafficker. Those thick and powerful legs, those beautiful eyes, that long luscious hair, and that broad chest. Ren was definitely a candidate for a femboy and Jaune would sacrifice his own life if it meant saving his brother, in all but blood, from the sickos who'd want him.

"Ahhh! I'm such an idiot! Ren, I'm so, so sorry!" He bowed his head. "I should have known but I was too dumb to see it! Please, forgive me!"

The pink streaked girl waved a hand disarmingly. "No, it is okay. I know I wasn't given the best of assets..." She replied just a tad too forlorn.

Jaune raised his head, a little confused then caught on. He-... She was still in character.

"Ah, I wouldn't worry about that. You have plenty of amazing features," he complimented with a smile. "Ignoring me, I'm sure everyone can see how gorgeous of a woman you truly are."

Ren's eyes widened and her face started to turn bright red. She closed her eyes and immediately grayed out before returning to her normal stoic expression.

"Thank you, Jaune. I truly appreciate it."

"She's also got a nice ass," a certain hammer wielder chimed in.

"Nora!" Ren shouted before graying out a second time.

"I have to agree. I am a bit jealous," Pyrrha added on.

"Please do not add fuel to the fire..."

"Would it help to say I haven't looked at it?"

"...I think I'm more offended by it."

"What!?"

"Renny is just confused with her feelings."

"No I am not!"

"Crap, looks like we have to cut the banter here. Better wrap up your breakfast because class starts in ten minutes," Jaune noted, looking at his scroll.

"Righto, Fearless Leader!"

"Grimm Studies is first, correct?"

"Yup."

"It sounds exciting. Let's not be late."

"Hehe... Right..."

-XOXOX-

Jaune tried very hard, he really did, not to fall asleep in Professor Port's class. He tried to put himself in Port's shoes, having experienced what lies beyond the walls and in the frontiers. He was a Huntsman who fought in the heart of the Grimmlands. But, for the love of all that is good, his eyes were fighting him to stay open.

He should have had a better tolerance for this. Hell, there shouldn't be any Grimm stories at all! It was a new world where men shouldn't be actively hunting Grimm. And yet Port was still telling the terrible Grimm hunting stories that bordered complete narcissism.

All around him, Jaune could see his fellow students losing the battle to pay attention. Even Weiss and Pyrrha, two model students, were trying their hardest and failing, allowing each and every distraction to pull their attention briefly before trying to return to the lesson. What was worse was that Jaune knew, he knew all too well, that this was Port's dastardly strategy of educating the masses. He would tell these stories and weave facts of the Grimm throughout his exaggerated feats before testing them on it with the excuse of "if you'd listen, you would have known" and "how unmanly" they were for failing to stay focused. Now, he didn't know if it was actually an evil way of teaching or if he did it to force people to listen to his story, but what the knight did know was that he did not miss this class. Not. One. Bit.

He looked at his fellow students and knew they were on the edge of absolute boredom. He needed to save them. Some way. Somehow. Any more and they would all suffer unfair consequences down the line.

He raised his hand. "Excuse me, Professor Port?"

"Ah yes, what is it, Mister White?"

"I couldn't help noticing the cage. There is a Grimm in there, correct?"

The portly man looked over and, as if responding to his gaze, the cage shook as the beast inside snarled.

"Oh-ho! Very good observation, Mister White. Will such a manly man such as yourself step forward to show these young women how it's done?" Port looked a tad too thrilled. "If you will, you may get changed into your gear, and we can begin the demonstration."

"I think I'll be okay like this." Jaune stood and removed his jacket, tossing it to Pyrrha, a couple of whistles sounding through the class. His partner looked up at him with concern but he gave her a reassuring smile before moving down to the main area.

"You mean to fight this Grimm unarmed?"

"Would you believe me if I told you it wouldn't be my first time?" It had actually been a funny story. Probably as far-fetched as one of Port's if he hadn't actually experienced it. Thankfully Yang had already been helping most of them with hand to hand. It wouldn't have been so funny then.

The professor let out a hearty laugh. "Haha, very well, Mister White. Now that is a manly declaration!" Port moved to the captured Grimm's cage and he looked serious the moment he raised his ax. Why wasn't it that surprising that he still had that thing? "The infirmary shall be notified should you fail. I trust you understand this?"

Jaune turned and faced the cage, holding up his fists. He nodded.

'Welp, there goes staying out of sight. Remember, kill the Grimm but keep it to freshman standard. Couple blows, flashy dodges, easy execution. It's a simple Boarbatusk.'

The ax was brought down and Jaune's had to admit he was impressed at how the portly man still broke the heavy duty lock that had held a Grimm with ease. His slight admiration was pushed down once the beast broke from its cage, releasing an angry howl before looking at him with a wild, unbridled rage. He would have thought it a Beowolf if not for the two large bushy tails, narrower snout, and for it being smaller and sleeker in body frame. However, its size definitely matched that of a Beowolf.

It was a fox-based Grimm and definitely was much more threatening than the original Boarbatusk. How had Port caught this!? Why did he expect one of the students to be able to take this on!? What if someone actually died!?

Jaune had to admit though, he was feeling a little excited as he faced down the beast. He had not been able to have a true fight since arriving at Beacon and this was finally a chance to stretch his legs a little.

It charged him with a speed much greater than a Beowolf and with a grace far beyond one as well. It sidestepped, moving left and right. He had never seen a Grimm this size move with a high level of speed and agility. Normally they would simply charge until either the person or it dies but this Grimm, this Grimm actually possessed some cunning.

It neared him and took one last bound, switching from his left to right in a half second. It leapt, intent on sinking its teeth into his throat. Another surprise came when he noticed its fangs extend into jagged daggers. His eyes widened slightly and his body started to move. He turned his upper body to let the beast soar past him, missing him by a few inches. However, he reached out and grabbed both of its tail just before it completed its pass and with a grunt and shift of momentum, he pulled the Grimm back and slammed it into the ground with a force that left spider-cracks in the ground.

The beast died on impact, disintegrating in a burst of black smoke.

'Crap! How did it die so easily!?'

"Very well done, Mister White," Port congratulated while clapping. "Just what I expected of a fellow manly man. Such power, such execution, we are definitely in the presence of Remnant's first Huntsman."

Eventually the rest of the classroom joined the professor in clapping. Jaune heard none of it, staring at where the Grimm had disintegrated. He still couldn't believe how easily the Grimm had been defeated, having expected to at least get a few more hits in. He hadn't slammed it that hard. Right?

Once again, he did little to nothing in the fight. Once again, he felt blue balled at finally being able to fight a Grimm. That poor thing had been incredibly fragile and he genuinely felt bad for the thing. It wasn't like the Rawhyde where he simply set it up for his team. He had fought and embarrassed it! Its ability in speed and agility had been essentially useless when it came to him getting his hands on the thing and essentially swatting it on the floor.

Jaune sighed in resignation and turned back to face the class. His team looked happy, Nora of course in awe. Team RWBY also seemed impressed, even Weiss clapping for him. He supposed he could enjoy it, despite it being far from his toughest of bouts.

Once the final claps had died down, another pair of clapping started. The classroom turned to where it was coming from and faced the doorway. A woman stood in the entrance to the room, clapping slowly.

Jaune's eyes widened at who the newcomer was.

She wore that familiar dark red dress. Those glass heels clicked in the silence as she slowly made her way into the room. Those burning ember eyes stared directly into him as she continued. And that smirk, that same sultry smirk she always wore every time they fought. That hidden sadistic glee she always saved for when she faced him. Up until they're final fight, that is.

"That was a most efficient and brutal execution. A well done fight, if I could even call it that." That voice, silky to most, spine tingling to him. And not in a good way. No, it was an angered, hateful tingling that demanded he remove her head from her shoulders. His fist clenched, his jaw tightened, and his eyes narrowed as he stared the woman down.

"Professor Fall, you're late."

"Apologies, Professor Goodwitch had business with me and the time slipped away."

"Oh-ho? Say no more then. Go on and introduce yourself to the class then."

She turned leaving Jaune to glare at the side of her head. She seemed completely unaffected, smiling at the other students and bowing.

"Good morning, class. My name is Cinder Fall and I am your support teacher. If you have any questions or secret crushes to admit, my door is always open."

And there we have it. The first day of school has kicked off.

Cinder has finally shown her self and she's a support teacher. Much how Jaune was in Professor Arc with the other teachers. And she just caught Jaune absolutely body a Grimm that, while easy to most students shouldn't get one shot bare handed. Just shows how strong Jaune already is and how his instincts and muscle memory have been honed from his time in the past.

I didn't count the new votes, felt a little lazy in that regard but just look at last chapter and the places are still relatively the same.

Hope you enjoyed. Later.
