Author's notes: Now RWBY ice queendom episode 6 released. Now here I have more criticism for certain interactions. While I was watching it, I realized that the characters are written differently then the original in some ways. The fact that it's in Japanese doesn't help either. The subtitles help but it's still not fully doing it. Episode 7 is fine.
Now onto the comments. MysticalSpider though you probably won't read this but you are correct that the summery isn't best written. Maybe one day I will rewrite it. Spartan-140 your criticism I noted long ago and try to work with it. The same goes for Diggidy Daniel. I know that I should've given to you earlier my responses to your criticisms but now I will try to answer in time.
Also, you may have noticed that there are more grammar mistakes and some parts were not detailed as others in previous chapter. The reason being is that I knew that I didn't update in a while and wanted to upload as fast as possible. I will try to not repeat this.
And here comes the story
Traveler wakes up from the sleep in the shelter. The shelter being just a convenient cave.
Then Traveler askes himself" Насчет чего я думал перед сном(What I was thinking about before sleep)" . And then he rememberes that it was either follow the road or not to.
"А это(Ah this)" he commented
Traveler then decides in his head: "по дороге мне стоит пойти но мне нужно держаться на среднем расстоянии от нее(On the road I should go but I need to keep at medium distance from it)".
He then also remembered his encounter with the creatures, the leg and the crystals.
He checkes his leg by walking a bit.
"Нога в порядке (The leg is fine)." He commentes
Since he would be walking not too far from around there, he decides to check on the crystals.
As he reaches there stealthy because he doesn't deny the possibility of someone showing up he noticed that nothing happened. Not a single crystal was taken. They just added a little bit of dust when he wasn't there.
"Ничего не случилось (Nothing happened)". He commentes
Then he decides to follow the plan.
As Traveler is sticking to the plan with occasional use of binoculars to not to lose the road, he is thinking about civilization.
"Если есть рудник то тогда должно быть население неподалеку (If there is a mine then there should be a settlement nearby)". He rationalizes
He also noticed that the mountains become smaller and smaller compared to the previous ones he has seen when he arrived at this planet.
He commentes to it by saying:"По крайней мере ходить становится легче(At least walking is becoming easier)."
He does have a goal after reaching his first objective though. Try to find if there is a way to leave the planet by finding an outpost and if not build a small probe with communications and if there are primitives here then mask the probe then if the probe won't help, then he understands that he has to get to the starts by building a new ship which would take a while.
During the walk Telamon finds a flying creature. And Telamon notifies of the discovery. Traveler lookes up. The flying creature has of course wings and has white colors but he can't see much anything else since it's too high up. Telamon on the other hand can see it but can't much scan it since it's too high up for the scanner. The only ways to study are thermal and visual scans. And after those scan they say that the creature is normal. Telamon informes Traveler about it.
"Все больше животных, это тогда означает что я близко(There are more animals, this means I'm close)."
Traveler is grateful for Telamon's help but sometimes he is tired of not doing it himself. After all he has a body. But Traveler does understand Telamon and allows him to do it. This is why he asked Telamon's opinion when there was a choice between north and south. This was to grant Telamon more freedom
Then Traveler rememberes his past prediction about those hostile creatures. He did forget that he got rid of them and doesn't feel much. For that he thanks his more colder part of him.
During walk he also notes to himself that he mises his first helmet for it's greater visibility. When he was making with some help the second helmet he wanted to focus more on durability and lower the risk of breaking the visor. He then remembered how the suit changed. From a clunky one to a more mobile and more protected one. He integrated some parts of the old suit like bits of armor and an improved chest plate that combined elements of the first and the second chest plates he had. The current chest plate doesn't have a glowing part in the center, has the straps from the first one but now more reinforced and and is a little bit smaller by a couple of centimeters like the second one.
During the walk he also does find a few more normal creatures and briefly scannes them, and moved on. These Discoveries remind him that there is so much to see but so little time. He also does look from time to time at the status of multitool rifle that he is holding in his hands since he expected more trouble since the trip to the mine.
After some other time of walking Telamon informed Traveler of a new location. Traveler moves in.
Traveler concludes that Telamon found some sort of settlement while he is looking through binoculars in crawling position on higher ground. The problem being is that there didn't appear any activity. Heat scan showes that there didn't appear anyone around but some small life forms and plants. The buildings were made from what appears to be an organic material that has brown color. There also were other matereals like rock and what appeared to be cement and some metal.
Then Traveler turns and asks Telamon:"Есть ли аномалии в нашей местности(Are the any anomalies in our area)? " to which Telamon shook it's scanner.
He decides to look more. He finds more roads. The roads just as the first appeared to be made by just some equipment moving around and a lot of walking by a group of people that in turn left a road. This means very basic and primitive roads. But then he saw that the northern road was of higher quality. There were small rocks that highlighted the road. Then he startes to theorize.
He does have plenty of theories now
He then decides to move into the settlement.
When he reached it, he starts carefully looking. He does notice a structure that appears to be a well. Upon closer inspection it is a well. The bucket is not on the surface so it meant that it had to be on the bottom. Then he noticed a mechanism of the well. He takes a closer look at it. "В основном в порядке (It is mostly fine)" he noted. He then starts to lift the bucket using the mechanism. The process for him is not hard. And soon the bucket is on top. He then decides to look at it.
In the bucket was a bluish liquid that almost filled the bucket completely. With further scan it is revealed to be water. He then decides to look further around.
"Может они покинули из за тех существ(Maybe they left because of those beings)." He guessed.
He sees plenty of homes and decides to look in the windows. There are some things in there and a few small life forms but that it. The same situation is everywhere. He also notices that there is also some baggage left behind along with a few other things. there is also more of that unkown language.
Apart from homes there also appear to be community buildings and warehouses. Traveler enters one of them that is not locked and sees that there are a lot of tables, some junk on the ground and some empty cups. "Может это бар(maybe it's a bar)" he thinks in his head. Some species he met have bars but it doesn't mean that all the species are the same. But concept does exist in a lot of biological sentient life's minds. He then scannes everything there including the junk. he then ties to further study the building. But everything else is unfortunatly locked. Traveler knows that he could easily break trough but if the population returns then they wouldn't be happy that everything is broken. Traveler understands that he can repair the damage but it would take time. So he decides to make a scan instead. Nothing intresting came out of it to which Traveler commentes:"Ожидаемо(Expected)". And then decides to check other parts of the setlement.
He goes to what he could call a warehouse. it was locked however. So he decided like the last time just to scan and move on. As he looks around he sees that everything is pretty much locked. He suspects that the reason why bar is open and there is some stuff left behind is because of a not complete evacuation from those creatures or probably because of the weather change. Some work can only be done in ceartain weather afterall. And then he comes to a 3 thory:"Или же оба(Or it could be both)".
After complete looking around the Setlement the only thing that is left to study are the roads.
As he took a better look at them, he notices that they are the same quality except the one that leads north. It is far more sophisticated than the others as visuals originally showed. And on it is also some stuff left behind as well as what appears to be tracks. Upon further inspection it apereas that those are wheel tracks. The fact being that they still exist means that they must've left not too long ago. Traveler rationalizes.
He then thinks where to go next. There are as it appears other roads that should lead to other mines.
Deciding that it is better to go on a better road he took a distance from it in order to keep low profile if something happens just like he went to this setlement.
While he is walking he doesn't deny the possibility that this could be a settlement of Travelers or Vykeen, Gek or Korvax . But he understands that if they are those then why isn't everything done better like defense, evacuation and so on. And Traveler questions himself why there aren't any sentinels around. While they aren't everywhere and there a few places where they don't exist but in this case this raises questions. He decides to ask Telamon if they are here. To which Telamon shook the scanner .To which Traveler grew suspicioius. He had now a theory that perhaps Atlas could make biological sentinels which it could do. But he finds the opposite of the evidence for now. Sentinels have red eyes only in combat mode exluding a few exceptions like rougue sentinels and special ones. Those creatures didn't have blue eyes either. This is when sentinels are on alert. They stayed static. There is also the fact that Telamon knows nothing of them. Traveler now concludes hat these are just some unkown creatures. He hopes that he didn't end up with a terrible fate that other Travelrs and other beings unfortunately were in. In many cases they didn't return and some of those events could be worse than death. But thankfully to efforts of other Travelers and other sentient life many terrible fates were reversed. Everything doesn't have to end in bad fate. And it can end a little bit better to go out when everything ends.
Traveler then remembers everything that happened on this planet and concludes that at least for now the situation isn't that terrible compared to others.
Traveler then remembers other Travelers. Not every Traveler goes onto an adventure. Not every Traveler meets Atlas. And plenty of them live a happy life living in the moment. It is the minority that suffers. And Traveler knows that unfortunately he is in that minority. Traveler suspects he could live a simpler life and not to take part in everything. But he realizes that he would just switch the burden to someone else. And that someone else could either do better, do the same or do worse than him. But as much as he caries his burden he too wishes to enjoy life the best he can whatever hardships and trauma that will appear.
Traveler continues his course and being as stealthy as possible. Traveler knows that his colors aren't the best for camouflage here. Orange fits perfectly but blue is not. Thankfully all the dust that is on the suit that he got while he was on this planet did help. Since he went to multiple planets and if he would change the camouflage constantly then there would be too much work too doo. There is also the fact that there can be multiple climates on a single planet. He did sometime wear grey which was useful but the majority of the time he didn't go into trouble or wanted to but he got bored of wearing grey and decided to switch to different colors. Also others wore more colors so it pressured him too.
As he was walking he did see more plants and animals. One of the plants was a green plant with sharp self protection as he could call.
But his robotic companion also is thinking. Since it got less responsibilities after getting on this planet, Telamon has more free time. The majority of which is spent on theories on Atlas and black creatures. Though with loses Telamon is till more than enough of an AI for the exosuit.
Some time later the duo is on elevated ground to see the area around. Telamon with the scanner and Traveler with binoculars.
Telamon reported that it found something new and Traveler lookes at the direction and he sees….

Authors notes: And I leave it with a cliffhanger. When I was saying that the mc looks mostly like in the picture I didn't lie, but I wanted to add my imagination of little details of evolution of Traveler's suit. I do read all your comments by the way I just don't react to them in time as i stated. Also, I originally planned for chapter 5 to be named a lot of target practice and something else but there were too much letters to the site so I shortened to a lot of target practice. In other news I originally planned to write different stories from different fandoms but I decided to settle on NMS since it would be more unique and more important then writing for fandoms that already have plenty of writers while NMS does not. And once I finish this story I plan to write in different fandoms.
