Mission Picasso
So, not very many people know this but Jamie Washington leader of the JBA has a huge thing for expensive art and enjoys the very popular pieces, such as Picasso, Renoir, and Van Gogh. After breaking out of the joint with Sam and learning much about him from his background and the research he dug up on him, not a bit of which is true, he decided to test Sam to see how good he really is. So, one of Sam's first missions from the JBA is to infiltrate Sotheby's the world famous auctioning house and pick up Pablo Picasso's portrait of Dora Maar au Chat believed to be the in the top three of the worlds most expensive pieces of art and appraised at 95 million dollars. Sam already having lifted 50 million in barrier bonds in a previous mission for the NSA accepts this mission gladly as it gives him a way to gain the JBA's trust without hurting anyone, plus Sam has never gotten to pull off such a cool and very Thomas Crown Affair like heist before where he actually gets some recognition for he skills, for the first time in a long time Sam becomes nervous about a mission. After doing some research and making his plans Sam has thoroughly gotten rid of his nervousness and has set a date for the "pick up." On the night before the piece is scheduled for auction Sam goes to Sotheby's all dressed up for the auction of a separate and unrelated piece and once there Sam slips off to the bathroom. While there he quickly and quietly hops up in the ventilation shaft and waits for the next couple of hours until the place is closed down at which time he moves about the crawl space until he is where he is suppose to be. The man power of the building is very minimal but the technology is insane and made even more difficult without the help of Anna Grimsdottir's technical skill but tonight he'll have to make due. After adjusting the temperature in his suit again and pulling out the necessary tools Sam works at opening the very sensitive cage over the ventilation shaft above the temperature controlled storage room. Once that is open he sets up his repelling equipment and drops down to 6 inches above the room floor, where the lasers await him. After setting off a nifty little can-O-smoke that exposes all the lasers and then jumping and bouncing around them for twenty minutes like a skilled idiot Sam reaches the security pad and swipes a card through it to deactivate all the lasers. Sam acquired this card from an earlier trip to Sotheby's where he lifted the pass card from a new guard's desk that had gone to lunch and after making a duplicate replaced it. Now no lasers and he is free to roam about as he pleases, Sam finds the Dora Marr au Chat and a very nice piece of jewelry for a certain someone that has been giving him some very interested looks. Now all that is left is getting out, and Sam starts to work on his exit. It is pretty simple really Sam can't leave the way he came in because there is way too much security on the other side of the restrooms in the part of the building the public has access to, but not a problem. Sam knows exactly which pieces of art are sold and which are waiting to be sold and which are waiting to be shipped in this storage room, and he has found a very large piece that happens to be hollow that is sold and waiting to be shipped out tomorrow. Sam pulls out his tools and after about five minutes of work has enough space to get inside, the poor sap that bought this large and unattractive piece of "art" will be quite sad to see it ruined but Sam doesn't care and it was only worth twenty thousand. As he gets all sealed inside or close enough too it to fool the naked eye the lasers come back on perfect timing, and now all that is left to do is wait. Jamie will be very pleased and so will Enrica, Sam thinks to himself this uncover thing might not be so bad after all. We will have to wait and see to know if he is right.
