It is 7 years after the Reaper War. The galaxy has all but recovered with little to no remnants that there ever was a war. Shepard and Liara are living comfortably in their Citadel penthouse going about their everyday lives until a new threat forces Shepard back into the call of duty.

AU:(No reapers, Humanity lost first contact war) John Shepard is abducted from his home and sold as a slave. When a strange power awakens within him, he sees this as the chance to destroy "the alien oppressor". However he learns that the galaxy isn't so black and white. Meanwhile forces conspire in the shadows of the galaxy, and he must decide if freedom is the right of all beings.

Archangel is trapped with no way out, and the mercenary groups are closing in. He knows this is the final battle of his life and he is prepared to die, taking as many of the scum out with him as he can...until he sees a ghost in the scope of his rifle.

Nicci Shepard has no idea what prompted her to buy all those fish the last time she was on the Citadel, but now that they're floating at the top of the tank in her quarters, they have become a real problem. One she intends to make someone else's problem.

Working as an assassin for the Alliance's unofficial program, Jasmine encounters Thane Krios when they are both assigned the same target. Bested by the drell assassin, Jasmine pushes herself to surpass Thane but gets more than she bargained for.

After mission Horizon Shepard is confused more than ever. He realizes that he has a crush on one of his squad mate. Garrus. He cannot resist him. They both have spent a lot of time looking at each other. Bumping fists into arms. Racing and fighting together. Maybe Garrus felt the same way. Or Shepard just imagined he had a chance? Has Garrus played with him?

Updated..can Shepard do to save everyone. Waking up surrounded in Rubble she finds the war is not over and that she is still the only person to stop it. Set directly after the destroy ending and is based on the indoctrination theory and how I want my mass effect story to end. Odd chapters are the current storyline, even chapters are flashbacks. After the war, Garrus takes Shepard to tour his homeworld. When the Palaven aurora blooms, she can't fault her mate for still believing in Spirits. Or for having something he worships.

His final choice wasn't good enough. Everything he had sacrificed had been for nothing. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results. Seems like it's time for a new life choice.

A summary set of position papers submitted by the human Commissariat to the Lords of Sol, justifying and explaining many of the more extreme elements seen in the mainfic and side stories or documentation. This will be a sort of 'mixed' story format: one section mostly a position paper, the next interaction between the Commissars and the Lords, or scenes of them digging things up.
