Heya :)

This is the chapter that I was meaning to post last week, but another scene came to mind ;).

I know I say this every AN, but I get so amazed at how much feedback and support I get. Even with my poor updating, I still have you guys supporting me which I appreciate. You guys make me feel like my dream of becoming an author is possible!

Okay I need to have some shout outs, and I'm sorry if I miss anyone out but I'm sure you all know by now that I think you're amazing!

ddiva- Like I said in my reply to you, you made my day. Someone actually had withdrawals from my story! I felt like a accomplished a mission :). So thank you again.

So as everyone now knows, I'm at university. This semester I have a crazy timetable, like right now I have an essay, a research project, a lab report and a test to study for...So I know waiting is awful, but I'll write in my spare time; and though the updating will be slow, this story won't get abandoned.

One last thing, I need advice writing a scene that will be later on which I promised you all, so PM me or review if you can help me. It'll only be reading something through for me because it'll be something I haven't written before (Only for people who don't mind rated M scenes).

I love you guys. Thank you for your support.

Enjoy! ;)

Clary's Pov

Izzy left early in the morning stating that she had important shopping to do. After a while of trying to convince me to join her, she left promising me next time I'll be going shopping with her. Great. As soon as she left, I slowly fell back to sleep into a dreamless state.

It wasn't until lunch time that I woke again, but instead of getting out of bed I sat up and got out my sketch pad and drew for a good hour. It was relaxing and calming. Deciding I needed a shower and to go get some food, I rushed to get ready and head downstairs to get food for my growling tummy.

"Hi sweetie, you must have been tried to sleep well pass lunchtime," mom said smiling over at me as I entered the kitchen. She was at the dining room table packing her handbag.

I stretched my arms out over my head. "Izzy wanted to watch movies. Didn't get to sleep until late," I replied, reaching over and grabbing an apple.

"That's nice," she said coming over to the bench I was sitting at and grabbing the tea towel that lay there. "Listen honey, we have to head out. Your session with the councillor is today and I think it'll be good to see her again especially when you're still not eating properly."

"Mom, I'm fine. I don't need to go to a councillor every time you think I'm going to break," I said, my voice strong, but the shakiness that is always there seemed to lurk out.

"Sweetie, the doctor said it'd be good for you to talk to someone about what is happening," mom said softly, but you could tell she was holding back the firmness in it which got me fired up even more because it's like she's treating me as if I am broken.

"The doctor knows shit…"

"Clarissa!" Mom yelled, throwing her tea towel down onto the bench to place her hand on her hip in disapproval.

"No mom, I don't need to talk to a total stranger to get better or whatever you want to see happen. I have you, Luke and Jace!" I said, standing my ground.

"Well, you're going to a councillor until I see improvement," she said firmly.

"Improvement how mom?" I asked firmly, folding my arms across my chest. "I get how I look broken to you all, but I'm not, okay. I'm fighting it, I am, but if you or Luke can't see it then I can't wait to see the look on your face when I prove you wrong." With that I started walking out of the kitchen towards the backyard.

"Clary…" Mom yelled, obviously wanting me to stop.

I know I sounded harsh, but I needed to make my point, I was fighting this. I was going to get better, I will not going to be broken. "I'm going outside for some fresh air," I said calmly as I walked out the door into the light breeze and the sunshine that beamed down on me.

I sat silently on the grass as one pathetic tear ran down my redden cheeks.

I don't know how long I was sitting there before I felt a quick movement behind me making my heart race with the unknown before legs rested on the grass either side of mine. Hands then reached around and pulled me to a solid, but warm chest. "Relax baby, it's only me," I heard Jace's reassuring voice whisper in my ear.

My torso slightly relaxed but the thought that mom could see us in this position flashed in my mind. "Mom might see us like this…"

"When I walked in she said she needed to head to head out, things to do. So she told me to stay here with you until her or Luke gets back," he repeated, as he pulled my hair onto one of my shoulders.

"Good," I whispered as I leant back against him, feeling his heart against my shoulder blade. "Where have you been?" I whispered a moment later, closing my eyes and relaxing against his warm embrace. "I know I sound like an overly-concerned girlfriend right now, but with everything that has been happening, I feel I have the right to be…I guess I just got scared when Izzy said she hadn't seen you all day."

I felt him rest his head against the side of mine. "I know, stuff came up but I'm here now," he whispered back.

"I-I just want you to be safe, okay?" I turned in his hold slowly so I could stare into his memorizing eyes. Cupping his jaw in my hand, I placed the other one on his shoulder to balance me. "I've been thinking a lot lately, and I don't care what happens to me here on out, all I care about is you and your safety."

He shook his head. "Let me protect you, okay? The only thing that can hurt me is losing you," he said softly.

I closed my eyes. Leaning in, I placed my forehead gently against his. "I don't need protecting, Raphael is after you," I said, the words stinging my throat.

His eyes searched my face as he leant back, a gentle smile spread across his lips. "You know, I think you're too stubborn for your own good," he chuckled.

I moved slightly so my legs were under me and that I was still between his legs. "Izzy mentioned to me that you could be up to something dangerous, is that right?" I asked, running my hands through his golden locks.

A low growl rumbled through his chest. "She shouldn't have said anything," he said low, keeping his gaze from mine.

"Wasn't it you who told me that day at the hospital after the accident; that I needed to let someone in and share what I felt, to let that person be you?" I reminded softly. He nodded softly, his hand skimming the grass whereas his other hand stayed on my waist. "Well I think that works both ways. So why are you keeping me out?"

He finally looked up at me. His eyes sparkled with sadness and hope, but there was also a hint of something else. His hands came up and cupped my face as his golden eyes searched mine. "Because I want you safe so I can end this knowing no harm will come to you, so if that means I have to leave you out of this, I will. I need you safe, Clary, because when this is all over I want to be able to go up to Luke and Jocelyn and ask if I can take their daughter out. I want to take you out on amazing dates like you deserve without being afraid that we're being stalked and I want to be able to actually call you mine so the world knows and no other guy think they have a shot with you… Most important, I don't want to wake up every day afraid that something could happen to you because right now, with how I'm feeling, I don't want to wake up knowing that I can't see your cheeky smile or your gorgeous eyes; and to be honest, I don't want to be in a world where I can't see you."

I grabbed his hands in mine, keeping them at their place on my face. "Nothing will happen to me, I won't go down without a fight, and something tells me you won't either," I whispered, smiling softly at him. "My Superman."

A small smirk appeared as he placed his hands on the small of my back before leaning his forehead on mine. "I like the sound of that," he chuckled.

"I thought you would," I smiled back, placing a soft kiss on his cheek before standing up.

I was planning on heading inside to grab a drink, but the corner of my eye targeted the hose that lay tangled on the grass nearby which sparked my interest. I stepped away from Jace. "Do you want anything to drink?" I asked, trying to hide the wide grin that was beginning to appear.

He lied back on the grass and stared up at the cloud-filled sky, clearly in thought. "No, I'm okay thanks," he replied.

Smiling, I made my way around to where the hose was connected up to the house and turned it on. Reaching the nozzle, I lifted the hose and pointed it at Jace. "Hey Jace?" I said, a giggle slightly escaping as I do.

Sitting up, he was about to answer me as he turned around to me when I blasted him with the hose. I moved the hose away from him to see his shocked expression. His hair was wet and tangled down in loose tangles. Rubbing his hands over his face, he slowly stood up, a devilled expression crossing his face. "You did not just do that," he warned a smirk evident of his angel-like face.

I nodded, biting my bottom lip as I cocked my head to the side, raising the hose again with a smirk on my face mirroring his. He began to advance on me and as a reflex, I turned the hose on him and ran sideways to get away from him, but it was no used because he soon had his arms wrapped around my waist and lifted me up into the air. I let out a squeal as I directed the hose down at him causing myself to get wet at the same time. Placing me back on the ground, he tried wrestling the hose out of my tight grab. My soaked back was pressed against his chest as we continued wrestling, both of us getting equalling soaked.

I made a move to step out of his tight grip which resulted in a bad move because I ended up losing my footing and slipping in the wet, muddy grass under our feet. Landing on my back, I let out a loud laugh as he wet me with the hose. "Stop!" I laughed.

"It's not nice getting hosed, is it?" he teased as he turned off the hose and knelt down beside me.

I poked a tongue at him, another idea coming to mind. "You're right. I'm sorry," I said softly, as I slowly grabbed a handful of mud secretly. "Come here." I indicated for him to come closer with my other hand and when he did, I shoved the handful of mud in his locks.

A shocked expression crossed his face as he stared down at me. Leaning up, I pecked him on the lips. "Bet you weren't expecting that, Goldie," I giggled, placing my mud stained hand on his cheek, leaving a mud print, before sliding away from him and quickly standing up.

"You're so going to get it," he said with a smirk as he jumped to a standing position, and before I knew it a flying ball of mud hit me in the stomach.

I glanced down at my mud stained shirt. I shook my head and laughed, advancing on the hose, but he was too faster and held it up, directing it at me. "You wouldn't use that against your harmless girlfriend, would you?" I said sarcastically, batting my eyelashes at him; a smirk still vivid on my face.

He seemed to think for a moment before shaking his head. "Yes, I think I would," he chuckled before spraying me with the hose.

"Hey!" I yelled, giggling as I bent down and grabbed a handful of mud and threw it at him before running around a tree, using it to hide my small body.

"Hey, you can't hide when you started this," he teased, his voice becoming closer.

"I surrender!" I yelled out. I heard a chuckle but no reply. I waited for a moment before taking a look from behind the tree. "Jace?" No answer. I slowly made my way out from behind the tree when I felt someone behind me.

"Looking for me?" Jace asked smoothly.

I quickly turned around to face him and noted how he had no hose, but had his hands behind his back. "What's behind your back?" I asked slowly stepping back.

He cocked his head to the side, a smirk growing on his face. "Step forward and I'll show you," he said.

I shook my head, taking another step backwards, but he only followed my actions. "Nope," I said, popping the 'p.' "Don't think I want to do that, buddy."

"So now I'm your buddy?" he teased, popping his bottom lip out to make out he was hurt. "I thought you liked the idea of me being your boyfriend."

"Oh I do," I teased. "I guess it has some benefits."

"Some?" he raised an eyebrow.

"Yeah, I guess you make a good snuggle buddy even though you look like a brick," I teased.

He chuckled, looking up into the sky for a moment before looking back at me. "I don't know if I should take that as a comment or insult…"

"Insult…take it as an insult," I teased, taking another step back.

"Right, you and your cheekiness are going to get it," he advanced quickly and before I could get away, he had me pinned against him with his arms. "Now are you going to take back your insults?"

"Never," I giggled.

He shook his head and chuckled before reaching up and cupping my cheek. It took me only a second before realising he was rubbing mud down my cheek. "Jace…" I squealed trying to get out of his grip but his other hand came up and splatted mud into my hair. "You didn't."

"I did," he winked.

Reaching up and grabbing what mud I could from my hair, I smeared it all over his face. I giggled, "The colour suits you."

"Any colour suits me," he said poking his tongue at me before entangling his fingers with mine. "Even?"

I smiled. Even though we were both filthy and so was the backyard, I had fun. It was refreshing and worry-free, just like we were normal teenagers with the only worry in the world being our school work. "Okay, even," I squeezed his hands, feeling the mud ooze between our fingers.

After our water/mud fight, we carefully went upstairs to the operating shower to wash up. We decided to make the shower quick so we could lessen the chance of Luke or mom getting back before we got out which resulted in us both standing in the shower: me with shorts and a tank top and Jace in just his boxer shorts.

"Bend down," I demanded softly as I grabbed the shower nozzle and turned it on to a warm temperature.

Listening to me, he bent slightly so I could run my fingers through his hair, spraying water through it to get the mud out of it. It didn't take much to get the mud out or wipe the mud off his face, all while he smirked at me might I add. Poking my tongue at him, I gave him the nozzle. "Hold this so I can get the mud out of my hair."

He shook his hair. "No, wait," he said, letting the water run down my hair as he reached into my hair. "You have a twig tangled in your hair." Handing me the nozzle back, his hands untangled the twig slowly to prevent any pulling of my hair. I watched his face as he pulled the twig out, and his expression was one of concentrations, but a smile still was plastered on his gorgeous face.

"Here hold this," I said softly, giving him the shower nozzle after he drops the twig, as I bent down and retrieved the shampoo. Squirting some into my hand, I lathered it into his hair before grabbing the nozzle and washing it out. The foam from his hair soon splatted on the shower floor by our feet. Squirting some shampoo into my own hair, I massaged it in as Jace grabbed the nozzle back and started to rinse the shampoo out.

Once the shampoo was out of my hair, I opened my eyes and looked up at Jace. Smirking he turned the nozzle on me and sprayed me in the face. Opening my mouth, I took a mouthful of water before squiring it into his face. Giggling, I watched as he drops the nozzle and rubs at his face. He then looked down at me with a mischievous grin. I felt him step closer and as he did, his feet must have slipped on the soapy shower floor which caused him to fall flat on his backside, bringing me a long with him.

Our legs and arms were tangled together before I painfully lifted myself up so my legs were on either side of him as I sat down on his lap. Sitting up slightly, Jace rubbed the back of his head. "I'm sorry, I slipped," he said apologetically.

I giggled. Pushing his wet hair off his face, I leant in a placed a tender kiss on his lips. "It's alright," I mumbled against them.

Smiling, he placed his hands on either side of my hips and lifted me up; bringing himself up as well so we were back standing in front of each other with the water raining softly down on us. Raising a hand, he cupped my cheek, rubbing his thumb in circles before lowering it to my lip. Running his thumb across my bottom lip once, he softly grabbed my chin and lowered himself so he could place his soft lips on mine.

Smiling against them, I returned the soft, careful kiss. Wrapping my arms around his neck I pulled him closer, deepening the kiss as I was slowly backed against the shower wall. Ignoring the cold sensation of the wall behind me, I concentrated on the kiss and the way Jace's arms snaked around my waist pulling me into him.

My shirt had risen so the skin of my flat stomach touched the smooth skin that lay on his washboard stomach. I felt his hands dip under the hem of my shirt, rubbing circles on my back causing more butterflies to erupt in my stomach. The way his skin felt against mine was magical and unlike I had ever thought it would be. That was when I knew I wanted more, needed more. So I did something I didn't think I would do. I started to lift the wet shirt off my thin torso.

Jace's hands suddenly went over mine, stopping me from moving my shirt up any further, causing my heart to drop. "Are you sure you want to go any further? Because I don't want you to feel you need to go any further," he whispered, his lips inches from mine.

"I'm sure," I assured him, looking up into his golden eyes before lifting my shirt up and over my head.

Once my shirt was off, I stared up at Jace who stood there staring at my near naked torso. His eyes stayed there for a while before they looked back up to mine. Cupping my cheek with one hand, he placed the other on my waist and pulled me close. "You're perfect," he whispered, a soft smile appearing against his lips.

Smiling a toothy smile up at him, I stood up on my tippy toes and wrapped my arms back around his neck pulling him back into a kiss. Within seconds, he had both of his hands on my bare sides and was kissing me back.

Our kiss deepened so that he was exploring my mouth. We were pushed up against each other and our chests were flat against each other's while the skin there tingled with excitement. My hands travels down his arms feeling the muscle in them move under my touch. I felt his hands lower slowly, touching the curves of my waist and hips, finally traveling slightly over my butt and slightly grabbing my thighs. I gasped at the feel of him touching my thighs. I had been cautious, afraid even, about people touching me there after the bus incident. But it was different with Jace.

Jace suddenly freezes, backing slightly up and goes to remove his hands from my thighs, but I quickly stop him. "It's okay," I promised him, looking up into his worried eyes.

I watched his apple bob in his throat. "I don't know…" he whispered.

"I'm fine. I'm with you," I whispered, letting his hands go which remained on my thighs. "Just…kiss me."

He leant down and kissed me tenderly on the forehead, then on my cheeks and my nose. Leaning out slightly, he looked me in the eyes, searching for the go ahead. Shaking my head, a small smile grew on my face. "I might be a porcelain doll around others, but with you… I'm just me," I whispered, searching his eyes.

He closed his eyes for a moment making me think he was unsure if I was really okay with this, but before I knew it, I was backed up against the wall with his lips fiercely against mine. Grabbing onto my thighs again, he lifted me effortlessly off the ground. Wrapping my legs tightly around his waist, I pulled back, only inches from his lips and smiled before crashing my lips back against his. His hands wondered across my back as his lips left mine and made their way across my jaw then down my neck. I tilted my head to the side to give him more access.

My hands stayed on his biceps, loving the way they felt as his muscles moved in each little movement. His lips returned to mine as his hands traced their way softly over my back and then over my rib cage, eventually finding the edge of my plain, white bra. His thumb dipped under the material softly, touching the small curves of my breast causing my breath to stop at the new feeling I got from it.

Jace's breath seemed to become heavy against my mouth, matching my own. Pressing down harder against my mouth, Jace deepened the kiss as his hand stayed located just under the wire of my bra. The kiss was magical and everything you could imagine a shower kiss would be like-and unfortunately, there's always something that stops it. Jace's move his hand slightly over my breast causing me to place my hands on the wall behind me and when I do I accidental knock the tap turning the water icy cold.

"Ahh," I hiss, as I clung tightly onto Jace as he quickly removes his hands from me and turns off the water altogether.

Once the water was stopped, he looked up at me and smiled softly before placing his forehead on my shoulder. "It was good the water turned cold, I needed it…" he whispered. "I may have gotten carried away."

I giggled. "We both did," I said, happiness filling my voice. "I liked it."

He lifted his head off my shoulder and smirked at me. "I did too, a little too much actually," he said.

Realising I was still wrapped around him, I unwrapped my legs and placed myself back on the ground. "Maybe we'll do it again sometime then," I said, a teasing tone filling my voice. I stepped out of the shower; and before grabbing a towel I quickly added, "If you're lucky."

He chuckled as he followed me and wrapped a towel around his waist.

Smiling at him, I walked over to the mirror that stretched across the wall the basin was against and stared at my reflection. My locks hang heavily down my back and my eyes shone bright green.

I felt arms wrap around my waist in a warm embrace. "You look beautiful," Jace whispered into my ear.

I leant back against his chest and looked at our image in the mirror. He looked golden and dreamlike. I couldn't find one fault in him, even his chipped tooth added to the mystery and charm behind him. His hair dipped water down his angel-like face, while his unique eyes locked with mine. I looked so plain beside him, but somehow we seemed to fit. "I look like a Plain-Jane beside you," I commented, with a soft chuckle (AN: I don't know if 'Plain-Jane' is a saying to you, but it's a saying here; well I think it is…. It means 'nothing out of the ordinary.')

"That's not true. Sure you're not one of those common pretty girls, but you're beauty is unique and out of this world with the way your eyes turn different shades of green with your different moods, and the way your hair is always so bright and shapes your freckled face, which I might as well comment, are adorable," he smirked, causing my cheeks to grow redder with each word that flowed from his mouth. He bent slightly down and touched his lips to my cheeks. "And I love when you blush."

I looked down at the basin, my cheeks burning with blush and my mind shocked. "And…" he whispered, turning me softly around and lifting my chin so he could lock his eyes with mine. "When I was growing up, Robert always used to talk about the bible and how beautiful and magically Angels must have looked like, and well I never really got what he meant until now," he raised his hands and pulled my wet hair over my shoulders. "Because to me, you're an Angel…You're my red headed Angel."

I smiled a toothy smile, as I reached up on my tippy toes and kissed him softly on his lips. "I-" I began, but before I could finish, I heard a door shut from downstairs preventing me from saying what I was about to say.

Jumping apart, we looked at each other. "Hurry and get changed into the clothes of Luke's I got for you. I think someone's home," I rushed as I quickly slipped my clean clothes back on and brushed my tangled locks. "I'll meet you downstairs."

"Okay," he smiled sweetly at me before I slipped quietly out of the room.

Walking downstairs, I was fully aware of the loud thuds that kept coming from the kitchen. Making my way cautiously into the room where I heard the radio softly playing, I saw Luke standing looking down at a semi made desk. "For Fu.." he began.

"Language," I chuckled.

He seemed to jump on the spot and turned towards me with a hand on his chest. "Gosh, Clary. How many times do I have to tell you I'm old and you can't scare me like that," he said, a small grin plastered on his face.

"A few," I smiled, before walking to him and looking at the desk. "Why are you making a desk?"

"Well," he began as he bent down and started on one of the legs of the wooden desk. "You started drawing again, and your mother and I thought you needed your own work bench. But this piece of crap doesn't want to be put together."

"Maybe you're not putting it together probably?" I said, bending down to examine it.

"Or missing a piece," Jace's voice popped up from the doorway. We both turned around to see Jace standing there holding a piece that must have fallen when Luke carried it all inside.

"Nice shirt," Luke said sarcasm in his voice as he stood up. "I think I have one just like it."

I tried to hold back my laughter. "Sorry, we may have gotten into a mud fight in the backyard," I admitted.

"No wonder the backyard looks like a mess. Your mom's not going to be happy," he smiled, shaking his head murmuring, "teenagers."

I smirked before I heard 'Rude,' from Magic come onto the radio. "I love this song!" I smiled widely as I ran across the room to turn the radio up and started singing along with it.

'Saturday morning jumped out of bed

And put on my best suit

Got in my car and raced like a jet

All the way to you I started to dance along with the music. Moving my hips and raising my hands above my head, I felt Luke's and Jace's eyes on me.

Knocked on your door with heart in my hand

To ask you a question

'Cause I know that you're an old-fashioned man, yeah I walked up to Luke and grabbed both of his shoulders as I sung the next part.

Can I have your daughter for the rest of my life?

Say yes, say yes 'cause I need to know Luke burst out with laughter, causing me to smile widely as I sung.

You say I'll never get your blessing 'til the day I die

Tough luck, my friend, but the answer is 'No'

Why you gotta be so rude? I let go of Luke's shoulders then and started dancing on the spot as I sang along with one of the catchiest songs I've heard recently.

Don't you know I'm human too?

Why you gotta be so rude?

I'm gonna marry her anyway I felt Jace staring at me with amused eyes, which gave me an idea.

Marry that girl

Marry her anyway

Marry that girl

Yeah, no matter what you say Making my way to Jace dancing, I smiled at him. "Come on, I know you know this song," I said.

Marry that girl

And we'll be a family Jace shook his head.

Why you gotta be so

Rude

"Please," I said was a puppy face. He just rolled his eyes with a smirk growing on his face, before stretching his arms out as if he was about to explain something, and started singing.

I hate to do this, you leave no choice Placing his hands on his chest, he let his magical voice flow.

Can't live without her

Love me or hate me we will be boys

Standing at that altar

Or we will run away He dropped his arms and pointed up to the ceiling.

To another galaxy, you know

You know she's in love with me Reaching over to grab my hand, he twirled me carefully around before letting me go.

She will go anywhere I go

Smiling at him, I began to sing again and dance along with the tune.

Can I have your daughter for the rest of my life?

Say yes, say yes 'cause I need to know

You say I'll never get your blessing 'til the day I die Placing a hand on my chest, I walked over to Luke who just stood their grinning.

Tough luck, my friend, 'cause the answer's still 'No"

Why you gotta be so rude?

Don't you know I'm human too? I grabbed Luke by the hand and tried convince him to dance, which soon enough he implied and lifted a hand in the air and twirled his finger around in a small circle as he stepped around in a twirl.

Why you gotta be so rude?

I'm gonna marry her anyway

"Well well, I never expected to come home to this," I heard mom's amused voice speak up from the doorway making us all stop what we were doing.

I heard Jace try hold back a chuckle causing me to grin widely. "The song was catchy," I explained.

"Well it seemed like it must have been," she smiled, before the sound of a phone went off.

"Hello?" Jace said picking up his ringing phone. A moment went by before he replied, "Okay, I'll be there in ten, bye."

Placing his phone back into his jean pocket, he looked at us. "I have to get going," he said before turning to Luke. "Mind if I bring your clothes back later?"

Luke nodded. "It's fine by me."

Smiling, Jace went over to mom and hugged her goodbye which has become a frequent thing he does now. "Bye Jocelyn thanks for having me over," he said politely.

"You know you can come over whenever you like, we like having you around," mom said, patting him on the back.

Nodding, Jace turned to me and ruffled my still wet hair. "Talk to you later, Red," he smirked.

"Asshat," I whispered loud enough for him to hear.

He smirked even wider. "Your names are very hurtful," he pouted.

I grinned, pushing him toward the door. "Come on, I'll walk you to the door," I said.

"Bye," he called back to mom and Luke before I pushed him out of the room and into the lounge room towards the front door.

Walking out the front door, he turned towards me and bent, placing his lips on my cheeks. "Be safe, baby," he whispered against them before taking his lips away but not before dipping in once more to place a soft kiss on my lips.

"You too," I whispered back, as he withdrew and started to walk backwards. Giving me one last smile, he turned to walk towards his car. I just stood there for a moment and watched as my superman left.

Jace's Pov

Time seemed to race by when I was with Clary. It was late in the afternoon when Simon had rung wanting me to come over, and when I had arrived at his, darkness had already fallen.

What Simon wanted to tell me wasn't a surprise to me at all- he found nothing that could Link Starkweather to Raphael in his email address; but that wasn't the only thing Simon needed to tell me…

"I have another idea," he said, once he was finished telling me about the email, giving me a piece of paper that had a few different number codes on it. "I have a friend that tried break into the cop station just last year to retreat an item that linked him to a crime, he failed to go through with it, but he did manger to retreat the codes to get into the building and the one that turns off the alarm."

"So, what are you trying to get at here?" I asked, looking up from the piece of paper.

"I think you need to have a search in Starkweathers offices. There's more of a chance there's evidence in there than on his email," Simon exclaimed.

"And how do you know that no one will be there when I go in?" I asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Oh I know there'll be someone, but only in the main part. All the offices are in the back which is closed off at midnight," he said.

"How do you know all this again?" I asked, my eyebrows coming together.

"I just told you, my friend did all the research," Simon said, sounding frustrated.

"Is he reliable?"

"Of course," he nodded.

"Then when can we do this," I grinned.

"Tonight, around one o'clock," he confirmed.

I just nodded and listened to his plan that he had all mapped out.

Time: 1am

Raphael's Pov

My curious, hungry eyes watched the figure cunningly move around the side of the building, stepping only where the darkness fell. He was quick on his feet, never losing his balance or awareness of what he was doing. I had the faintest of clues to what the figure was doing, which made the skin on my body tingle with excitement and the corner of my mouth turn up in a satisfied grin. It was like playing a game of cat and mouse, but the only difference was the one who thought they were the cat, sneakily making a move, had no idea that they were in fact the mouse just ready to be pounced on.
