Grimmel and Chrono within the research laboratory and Grimmel was holding a container holding five red bullets.
"Finally we've succeeded," said Chrono.
"Yes," said Grimmel smiling beneath his mask. "A permanent version of the drug, we finally figured out how to preserve Ariel's power. With this, we can completely annihilate metahuman powers. It's a cure, and now we can fix this world."
"The processes expensive and takes far too long," Chrono pointed out. "It augurs an entire month to create five bullets."
"Because we're doing it ourselves, down here. I'll find a more suitable environment. Now is our chance with Drago Bludvist gone, we don't have any time to waste."
Yesterday evening, Twice and Turid arrived at the hideout where Grimmel and his Eight Bullets were waiting.
"My name is Turid, and I was told to come here," said Turid looking bored. "Hiya."
"Long time no see birdman, be warned I'll never forgive you," said Twice crossing his neck with his thumb. "So happy to be on the team!"
"Wonderful," said Grimmel.
"The League of Villains, this is perfect let's brawl!" said Wrath.
"I'll kill you," said Twice.
"Yeah, no thanks," said Turid.
Grimmel tapped his fingers together looking at the two of them. "I do apologise for killing your teammate, it is unfortunate. I did not want to kill him."
"You mean her," Twice corrected, looking at him darkly.
"Do not make that mistake again," Turid warned.
"Anyway, this is no time to be holding grudges each other," Grimmel continued. "We're on the same team now. I want your help with my plan."
"Bastard, you try to break cool the first time too like you don't care about anything!" said Twice looking seriously but then immediately calmed down. "So what are my orders?"
"Just follow my instructions like everyone else in the organisation, but first things first. I want the details of your powers, it will be easier to work together if I fully understand what you can do."
"I think I'll tell you about my powers when you need to know about them," said Turid. "Oh and just so that we're clear I still don't like you people."
"So much for making a good impression," Mimic glared. "Do not underestimate the mafia!"
"I agree with Turid," said Twice. "We'll tell you when we feel like it. Won't get nothing out of me. No way, my lips are sealed."
The man in the black coat then looked at him directly into the eyes. "What are your powers."
"I can make doubles of anything, to work, I need a precise image in my head," said Twice. "That means height, chest measurements and shoe size of a person. You name it, I needed. I need as much info as possible, only then can I make one thing into two. The main difference between the doubles and the real thing is durability, they just end up melting if they are not around too much. I can make doubles up to 2 things at once. So the damage of the second one can take is lower and for personal reasons, I refuse to make copies of myself got it!"
It only took him a few moments to realise that he just told them of his powers.
"What happened? It was like I couldn't stop the words from coming," he said.
"Wow, that was pretty stupid," said Turid.
"It wasn't me Turid, I swear!" Twice yelled in dismay.
"And you?" said the man in the black coat looking at Turid.
"If I drink someone's blood, I can turn into them," she said. "Whatever I take it in turns into energy so the more I can drink, the longer I can hold onto the form. One can't let me look and sound like someone for about a day. Classified drink a bunch of different peoples blood at the same time I can turn into any of them. I can recreate their clothes too, but they get layered on my own, so it helps to get naked before I transform which can be a little embarrassing sometimes."
Turid then realised that she had told them of her powers just like Twice.
"See," said Twice, smugly.
"One more thing, did Krogan say anything about the trainers?" said the man in the coat.
"Nope," they said in unison.
It soon dawned on them that the man in the coat had the ability to make anyone he talks, to tell the truth.
"Okay, I accept you as members of the Dragon Killers right now," said Grimmel as he rose to his feet. "But wanted criminals like you need to stay out of sight. Unless I say otherwise, do not leave the underground facilities."
"House arrest!" Twice glared.
"Ah, that sounds super lame," Turid grumbled.
"Once I trust you a little more you can do what you want," Grimmel assured them as he began to leave. "But you will have to prove yourselves."
Mimic then approached them. "You had better fix those attitudes if you want to be taken seriously. For us to accept you, you've got to follow orders brats. We're the Mafia and not some back alley thugs, you got it? Pretty soon, we will be controlling society again from the shadows. A complete resurrection of the Dragon Killer, I bet the boss will even get out of his sickbed when he hears the news." He then pointed at them with a smirk. "And you can be a part of it as long as you behave properly and do as you're told!"
In the present, Mimic completely lost control and now was unleashing his form might upon Turid and Twice catching the heroes and the police in the crossfire.
"I will not forgive anyone who disgraces the way of the mafia!" he roared loudly.
Pillars were now erupting throughout the corridor and Turid and Twice were avoiding the attack.
"Guys like you always have the shortest tempers, you get all mad and show what loses you are," said Turid. 'We don't have the power to face them all now.'
'We'll just leave it up to be heroes to deal with them,' said Twice.
The heroes and the police were now trying to avoid getting crushed by the pillars what they heard Mimic's cries.
"That yell, you heard it right?" said Trapster looking at Hiccup.
Hiccup nodded. "The voice has to belong to Mimic, it sounds like he was close. I'm going to sit back on my echolocation system to track and down."
Hiccup then raised his hand and began sending sonic burst throughout the entire corridor. Unfortunately, this movement around made it nearly impossible, and chances were he was inside the wall still.
"No good!" Hiccup yelled. "And is too much of an echo to pinpoint him."
"If we don't stop this, we're going to get crushed," said the commission.
Turid and Twice were still trying to round him up and succeeding.
"I get it, you're trying to hide how weak you are from the rest of the world," said Turid and looked up at the ceiling. "You look down on other people because you think it makes you look stronger. So lame, that's the mafia for you."
There was a hole in the ceiling where Mimic was what you can just make out his eyes. He then wrote furiously which was heard by Hiccup.
Hiccup quickly launched himself into the ceiling and then punched right through it, revealing Mimic's body. Trapster then quickly looked at him and activated his power, the moment he did everything stopped moving.
'What? My power?' said Mimic as his support on the ceiling, when he began falling towards the ground.
"Sorry mafia, I think we'll do what we want after all," said Twice.
Mimic turned and saw Twice and Turid smirking at him as he fell waving.
"Later," they said.
Hiccup noticed them as well. "The League of Villains?"
"You'll pay!" Mimic roared.
Nighteye then tossed one of his stamps striking Mimic across the right side of his face, knocking him out cold.
"Catch him!" Nighteye ordered.
Hiccup nodded and flew down, catching Mimic before he hit the ground.
Trapster looked at the pillars above them and found that Twice and Turid had already fled.
"The League betrayed them?" he said clutching his shoulder.
"Seems so, and they used us to aid in their scheming," said Nighteye. "Though at least one solid ground now."
Hiccup was a little bit more concerned about Ariel and Vemillion. 'Ariel… Marcario.'
Vemillion had been running a great distance in order to catch up with Grimmel, and Chrono and his perseverance finally paid off.
"Excuse me, gentleman, but we need to talk," he said. "You've got some explaining to do. Why don't we have a chat about Ariel?"
"You should have been able to get here so fast," said Grimmel looking marginally impressed.
"I took a shortcut. Give me the girl, I'm here to rescue her."
"Now that you know the situation you've decided to play hero, hey schoolboy," said Grimmel recognising him a few days ago. "You are happy being ignorant when we first meet. Unfortunately for you, this girl did not want to come with you. You're no hero to her."
"That's why I'm here."
Grimmel sighed. "I'm not getting through to you. Allow me to be clear…" He and Chrono then turned his back on him, and he quickly fade himself into the ground. "…you're going to die down here."
Just before he could sing completely into the ground, Vemillion suddenly felt woozy and lost his balance.
"What's happening to my body?" he said as he tried to rise. 'My balance is all off.'
He then heard laughter and saw hanging from the ceiling was a man with long black hair drinking a bottle of wine. "You feeling slashed? Why your legs look shaky and your swinging. I feel the same, that's why I'm walking up here."
Vemillion understood what happened. 'Okay, so it's this guy's power. Ariel is still right in front of me, I just got to get past him and—'
he then heard the sound of a gun and saw standing in front of him was a man in a black coat pointing a gun towards him. He quickly jumped out of the way just before he pulled the trigger and activated his power is just as he fired again causing the bullet flying might through him.
"What is your power," he said.
"Density shifting, when it activated a compatible anything," he said and blinked. 'Why did I tell him that?'
"I see, that explains how you made it this far so quickly. Use your powers to slip past Mimic and the others."
"You missed him, Confession?" said the drunkard. "Stupid! Are you drunk?"
"That would be you, Drunkard."
"You think?"
"I suggest you stay silent and support your superior teammate."
"I get it," said Vemillion as he rose to his feet. "Your power must have forced me to tell the truth somehow, and they put someone like you on the front lines? Weird."
"That's true, I'm in a different class compared to the dispensable pawns in this organisation," said Confession. "I am the only one who fully understands the young boss' ambition."
He then fired his gun at Vemillion, but the bullet just passed right through him once again.
"He is torturing his own daughter, and you call that ambition?" Vemillion spat.
"Oh, it would be wise for you to leave your feelings out of this," Confession suggested. "Don't you know that they'll only get you in trouble? When you first met Ariel in the street, you let her return to the boss correct?"
"Yeah, I did," Vemillion admitted he realised that Confession was using his power again.
"And then you found out that our plan was and regretted abandoning her, that's why you come child. You're no hero, you're only trying to soothe your own conscience, aren't you?" Confession smiled behind his mask. 'His body is already swaying thanks to Drunkard, now to his where it hurts. Make him question what he's fighting for, if I can make lose focus it's all over.'
He then immediately looked back at Grimmel, who was walking off. "I live for the boss's ambitions, he needs me. I'm his right-hand his most valued assistant, we will share such stories when his plan comes to fruition. Now!"
"Now!" Drunkard yelled tossing several knives.
"Die you nuisance!" Confession yelled as he fired his gun.
Vemillion then swirled out of the way to dodge their no attacks and then took a deep breath. In an instant, he immediately seized through the wall and disappeared. In seconds, he began zigzagging through the walls and attacked Drunkard and Confession with mind-shattering speed and power.
'He's right, I am weak' said Vemillion. 'I've been carrying around the guilt of letting Ariel go. I acted unforgivably in front of that little girl, but despite that rather than see us get hurt, she chose to return to that hell. She's kind of in any one of us, that's why I chased after her and why won't stop until she's safe.'
"No way, how is he still right?" said Drunkard as he hit the ground.
"I get a taste of something much worse than your intoxicating power on the regular," said Vemillion as he began sinking into the ground once more.
"You're no hero," said Confession. "You know the truth!"
"I won't waver, I'm going to make sure that she has a reason to smile! Until she can, I won't stop!"
Vemillion then faded into the ground and seconds later he popped up right in front of the two of them. Before they had time to react detailed, devastating blow into their stomachs knocking out cold. Once they were down immediately dashed off towards Grimmel and Chrono down the corridor.
Grimmel and Chrono turned around, and all they saw was Confession and Drunkard flat on the ground.
"Grimmel!" Vemillion yelled, appearing right behind him.
Grimmel saw him and only had a split second to dodge his fist leaving only a trace of sweat on his face, but in truth, I was only a faint, and he was able to kick Chrono hard in the face. Chrono dropped Ariel, and Vemillion quickly moved in and grabbed her in the space of a few seconds.
"Please don't," Ariel begged. "Go back, please leave me! Otherwise, he'll kill you."
Vemillion just tightened his grip on her. "I'm never going to let you down again, Ariel. I swear it, I am going to be your hero!"
Grimmel just stood there seem to be quite annoyed that Vemillion left traces amount of sweat on his face for some reason.
"Filthy," he growled and began rubbing the sweat off his face with his sleeve. "Come back, Ariel. How many times do I have to tell you? It's your fault, you break people. That's just how you were born."
"Go, hurry," Ariel pleaded, looking up at Vemillion.
"Don't listen to him," said Vemillion.
"You know how this goes, I always have to get my hands dirty because of your selfishness," said Grimmel glaring at her. "Every action you take results in people dying. You are a cursed human."
"How could you ever say that your own daughter?" Vemillion roared furiously.
Grimmel looked at him, confused. "Uh, oh, right. That's the story I told you." He then pulled off one of his gloves. "I don't have any children."
Then suddenly a huge shockwave was sent throughout the entire corridor, and everything began changing shape, Vemillion soon realised that he just uses power. Large stone spikes were now shooting towards them, and they looked sharp enough to pierce anything.
'He's not just me assembling, he shaping new spikes and he so fast,' said Vemillion then quickly raised Ariel into the air allowing him to face with a spice that would have punctured his body. "You could have been hurt, but he didn't care."
"Yeah, we wouldn't have been a big deal if she got hurt," said Grimmel placing his hand on the ground again and destroyed the spikes. "If I put her back together immediately, I can revive her, even if she is not quite the same as she was before. Ariel already knows what I can do."
This just made Vemillion even more furious, and Grimmel began blocking all the exits and continued shooting stone spikes towards them. He had to dance around them as he could fade entirely while he was holding Ariel in his arms.
"What will you do when Ariel gets injured? Under these conditions, I'm the only one who can heal her. I've sealed off your escape, and you won't be able to run away using our powers while our holding her. So you going to fight me, schoolboy?"
Vemillion then noticed Chrono had recovered was pointing a gun towards him. 'I thought that I not that drunkard out, but my balance is still off. Is his power still in effect?'
"Careful, aim for the arm around Ariel," Grimmel advised.
"I didn't expect to be able to use his power so precisely," said Chrono. "It's obvious that he's been well trained."
"Can't let anything get in the way of your shot."
Grimmel then destroyed the stone spikes directly in front of Vemillion, creating a clear shot for Chrono.
'He's clearing up after the bullet can hit me,' said Vemillion and smiled down at Ariel. "Sorry about this." He then quickly covered himself and Ariel with his cape. 'I can't see his face, but based on what he's doing I'd say that's Chrono, Grimmel's right-hand man, if the briefing was right I definitely don't want to be on the receiving end of his power.'
Chrono then fired, but with Vemillion's cape around him, it was impossible to see what he was sitting, and he missed him completely.
"He hit his body to skewer my aim," said Chrono as Vemillion hit the ground. "And here I thought heroes only wear capes to make them look cool."
Grimmel then immediately realised what Vemillion was up to. "Chrono!"
He then quickly hit his hand on the ground, causing the ground beneath them to rise. A few seconds later, Vemillion popped out of the ground, and he would have punched Chrono if Grimmel had been just a little slower. Still, the sudden movement caused him to drop his gun, and it slid across the ground.
"Sorry, Grimmel," said Chrono as he hit the ground.
"He's strong, but he put Ariel down," said Grimmel as he turned towards the cape that was wrapped around Ariel. "If I break her, he'll be forced to back off."
"Of course you would do that monster!" Vemillion yelled, swinging his fist at Grimmel.
Grimmel quickly turned around and raised his hand, but Vemillion's face just passed right through him and punched him in the face.
"You want to know why he wears a cape!" Vemillion yelled furiously. "So that he can comfort someone who is suffering! That's why!"
Chrono quickly made a grab for his gun, but Vemillion saw this. 'Watch my opponent.' He then promptly struck Chrono knocking him back. 'What is next move and act fast.' He then quickly sunk back into the ground just as Grimmel recovered. 'Grimmel is so good it's hard to believe that he is just some Mafia thug. He's strong, yeah, but…'
He then popped out of the ground just as Grimmel placed his palm on the ground. "… Make no mistake!" He then punched him once more. "I'm stronger! You won't lay another finger on her! I'll find as many people as I have to! You've lost despite Grimmel!"
"Don't use that names who casually fool," Grimmel growled. "You have no idea what I'm capable of!"
Grimmel then began to think back when he was just a boy, he was an orphan and all alone in the world. However, this man appeared out of nowhere and offered to take him in.
"Well, if you have nowhere else to go, you can come with me, kid," he offered. "What's your name? Can you speak?"
"Grimmel," he said.
This man was the leader of the Dragon Killer Mafia gang, and over the next room years, he rose through the ranks. However, his ideology was fundamentally different from the boss, and they ended up clashing frequently.
"The Dragon Hunter gang was forced to disband, and our numbers continue to dwindle," the boss sighed.
"At this rate, it's only a matter of time for us," said Grimmel, who was wearing a face mask. "We need to be more innovative. What about the plan I told you about before? Have you given it more thought?"
"Are you still bringing that up, I gave you your answer Grimmel. Stray too far from your humanity and your losing sight of the old ways. No one is going to follow a demon with no heart."
Back in the present, Grimmel had just been struck by Vemillion, and it really did look as if he was going to lose.
"Master!" a voice yelled.
Grimmel looked and saw Confession crawling his way out of a hole in the wall.
'I thought he was down for the count,' said Vemillion shocked.
"Confession shot!" Grimmel yelled, tossing him the box of bullets.
One of the five bullets fell out of the box and landed next to Confession, who quickly loaded it into his gun.
'Come join with me, it will be very reassuring to have you with me,' said Grimmel when the two of them first met.
'Those were his true feelings, the boss needs me,' said Confession as he aimed. 'I can't let him down, even if it costs me my life. I'll assist him where ever I can, but where do I aim? I only have one bullet, and I'm shooting an untouchable target. How can I keep them from using his power?'
He then remembered Vemillion's words when they fought the ones about how he would protect Ariel no matter what.
'His true feelings!' he said and quickly pointed the gun at Ariel.
Vemillion saw this and quickly moved in towards her. 'You've been living with so much despair this whole time. Thinking that you had no choice but to suffer so much. That help will never come. I will never let you down again. Don't worry, I won't let you suffer, not any more!'
Confession then fired, and Ariel was utterly terrified, but then she looked up and saw Vemillion smile as he dived in towards her. The bullet then struck him in the shoulder just as he shielded her.
Vemillion then began thinking back when he accidentally fell into the river and was rescued by a hero. It was then that he knew what he wanted to do with his life.
"I'll be a hero who saves people!" he announced to his father.
"Macario, you have to be careful one wrong move of your power, and you could split into," his father warned him as he picked up. "It's a really hard power to master that is why your pops here gave up being a hero a long time ago. You sure you still want to be a hero?"
"You bet!" he yelled excitedly.
"All right, then I'll support you any way I can. No matter what Marcario, just do your best."
In the present, Vemillion felt his power disappearing.
"Your disease, your powers allow you to dream it you will become something bigger," Grimmel smirked. "But that way of thinking is an illness of the mind. I'm offering the world a cure ironic, isn't it? You came here to save this girl, and it's her power that will end everything you come to rely on! You're powerless!"
He then hit his hand on the ground about activated his power when suddenly he saw Chrono's body flying towards him. He quickly shielded himself and then suddenly Vemillion charged in and punched him hard on his right forearm.
'What your opponent carefully, predictors next move,' he said and clenched his teeth. "No, I am not powerless. I am still Vemillion!"
The glove on Grimmel's left-hand then disintegrated, and he tried to grab Vemillion, but he was able to sidestep out of the way.
Confession just watched stunned. 'I can't believe it Drunkard's power is still in effect, and he lost the power that made him seem invincible. Yet he still fights. Why? For the girl? Madness, what is he?'
Vemillion managed to punch Grimmel in the face, and he quickly created stones spikes. Ariel just watched as Vemillion avoided them and kept on fighting and shielding her.
Vemillion now had to be careful as he was unable to fade through the spikes and some of them did graze his skin, giving him some nasty cuts. One of them managed to pierce his leg and chest as he tried to shield Ariel and tears began to form in her eyes as she watched.
"You wanted to become a hero so badly, and you can even save Ariel," Grimmel growled. "Your filthy Vemillion, infected. But I will fix you all with her power every last one of you!"
Vemillion then moved to remove the spike in his chest, he had lost a lot of blood and was beginning to lose consciousness. 'Nighteye… Asmund… I'm still fighting.'
He then turned to face Grimmel. "Grimmel!"
"I will cure you!" Grimmel roared as he placed his palm on the ground.
Then suddenly, the wall next to him cracked and bursting through it was Hiccup.
