Hiccup, the other heroes and the police had managed to catch a Mimic and quickly tied him up with a rope. Rock Lock had been bandaged up after his little scuffle with Turid, but he was no longer in any shape to fight.

"The walls are finally stopped moving, but it's hard to tell where we are now," said the Commissioner.

"I was able to map out the area," said Hiccup and then produced a holographic display of the corridors.

Nighteye looked at it closely and then pointed at a corridor on the map. "I am fairly certain that Ariel's bedroom is located in that direction."

The Commissioner then looked at Mimic. "Mimic, I want you to straighten out these whole ways again, you hear!" Mimic looked worse than Rock Lock as he was fidgeting and drool was coming out of his mouth. "What the hell?"

"The drugs must have worn off," Trapster concluded still clutching his shoulder.

The Commissioner then remembered what Fat Gum had said when they first encountered Mimic. In all the commotion, he had completely forgotten about the drug.

"Looks like Fat Gum knew what he was talking about," said Trapster. "Mimic powers back to normal again."

"Guess that's good news, but that was Turid and Twice just now," said the Commissioner. "The League of Villains are here too."

"Turid… Turid and Twice," Mimic growled. "I won't forgive you! You traitors will die!"

"Tell us where the other League members are hiding," Nighteye ordered.

"I don't know!" Mimic roared furiously. "But I will find every last one of them! I won't stop until I crush all their skulls to dust!"

In Hiccup's opinion, he looked as if he would struggle to stand, let alone fight. "Bud, what's his medical condition?"

"Stable but it would seem as if the drug has had a massive toll on his body," said Toothless. "I'm impressed that he's still conscious considering all the internal damage he suffered. I estimate he will be a uses powers for a few more hours at least."

Hiccup looked at Nighteye and Trapster. "We don't have to worry about him, but the League…"

"I'm guessing those two were the only ones here, at least for now," said Nighteye.

"It doesn't look like the villains from the League are going to attack us," said a policeman.

"Maybe not, but they're not on our side just because they betrayed this guy."

"Those criminals are wanted across the country, as officers of the law we can't let them escape," said the Commissioner.

Hiccup looked at Trapster remembering the condition him he gave them in order to take part in this operation. Of course, the situation was now different now that they were completely separated from everyone else.

"Trapster?" said Hiccup.

Trapster didn't know how to proceed, given these unusual circumstances.

"Why are you fool standing around talking instead of acting?" said Rock Lock clutching his chest.

"What you mean?" Hiccup asked.

"The cops can deal with the League, you're wasting time so ignore them and keep on moving. Or did you morons forget our missions top fricking priority?"

"He has a point," said the Commissioner. "That would be for the best."

"I'll hang tight, so one has to stay behind and keep an eye on Mimic. Thanks to the crazy girl with the knives are not going anywhere any time soon. Well, go on. Finish what we came here to do! Scarlet and the other heroes are up top… the cops we got separated from down here…Suneater, Sprite, Red Riot, Fat Gum, Vemillion the all still fighting but us you've got to know that right? We work too damn hard to fail that girl now. So, go on!"

With that Hiccup, Trapster and Nighteye ran down the corridor as quickly as they could, and they were quickly followed by the police.

"We'll find her!" Hiccup yelled back at him. "And we'll save her! Don't worry, Rock Lock!"

Rock Lock just looked at Hiccup and smiled. "Hope they didn't take my yelling the wrong way. I just can't help thinking about my family, got a beautiful wife and a new baby boy. I was worried about those kids, they might be training to be heroes, but there's still so young. Then I watched them act more heroically than any of us pros. So you're promising to save the girl you had better do it, Night Fury. The same goes for you Nighteye, her future is on you."

As they were running, they were unaware that the League was actually looking down on them from the stone pillars above them.

"There they go," said Twice. "Our best plan of action would be to make a break for it immediately." He then looked back at Turid. "What should we do Turid? Kiss maybe?"

"There's a big chance that Hiccup is going to get bloodied up, I would really like to see that again," she said as she pulled away. "But maybe more than that… right now I just want to make Grimmel dry like a little baby."

"In that case, I've got no idea," said Twice. "Here's what we should do."

Turid stopped and looked at him. "I'm listening."

Twice then began to whisper something in her ear and her face lit up.

"Oh, that's perfect Guff!" she said excitedly. "It'll make Krogan real happy too. If Hiccup's group and Grimmel come together, everyone is going to end up bruised and bleeding. The fight between the heroes and the Mafia will be epic. I bet at the end of the battle both sides will be super messed up. I wish I can watch!"

Hiccup, the heroes and the police then saw Drunkard lying on the ground and realised they were getting close. Hiccup saw that the hallway in front of them was blocked and immediately smashed right through the wall.

'No matter what,' said Hiccup, and he quickly summoned his shield and struck Grimmel with it with all his strength. 'I'll save her!'

Hiccup's move had enough power to send Grimmel sliding across the ground, and Trapster quickly uses abilities the block his powers.

'Got him,' he said and immediately turn to Nighteye. "Nighteye, quick! Secure those who have been injured!"

Nighteye quickly looked around the room and saw Chrono and Confession lying on the ground. 'Two of Grimmel's inner circle, we passed another along the way here. Grimmel is on his last legs, but is completely sealed up the room.'

His eyes then turned to Vemillion, who was in pretty bad shape. "Marcario!"

"Get Ariel out of here," he said as he tried to maintain his balance. "She's… behind me."

Nighteye then approached them and grasped the two of them. "Rest, I've got you now. You were amazing, you found her Marcario."

Grimmel was slamming his hand down on the ground, trying to use his power to no avail.

'He took away my power,' he growled furiously.

"Vemillion already has him back into a corner, it's up to us to finish this," said Trapster as he and Hiccup charged towards him.

"Yes, sir!" Hiccup nodded.

"Time to get up, Chrono!" Grimmel roared.

Trapster realised what was about to happen and quickly pulled Hiccup back with his scarf. "Watch out!"

Seconds later, something sharp grazed him on the arm, and when Hiccup turned, he saw that it was actually Chrono's hair.

"Those pierced by the long hand will find their movements load," said Chrono as he lifted his head. "I meant to skewer both of you at once, but then that's heroes for ya."

"It took long enough to wake up," Grimmel growled. "That schoolboy managed to take Chrono out, but I repaired his head and healed the damage when the kid was distracted."

Trapster found his movement sluggish and to make matters worse he was about to blink. 'No, I can't stop myself from blinking.'

Hiccup quickly charged towards Grimmel as fast as he could. "I've got you!"

"Everything… all you've done…" said Grimmel as he raised his hand. It was then that Trapster blinked. "…as been for nothing!"

He then slammed his hand on the ground, and massive stone spikes erupted from the ground. Everyone did their best in order to avoid them, though Nighteye had a more challenging time since he was holding Vemillion and Ariel.

"As if I would let my plans be ruined by people like you who are sick in the head," said Grimmel and then landing in front of them was Confession, who had also been launched into the air and was currently out cold. "You get it, don't you Confession. You want me to succeed, and I won allow all my hard work to end here. You've always been eager to help, so I know that you'll happily give your life for my cause. Won't you?"

Grimmel then placed his hand over his face and then suddenly the two bodies began to merge. "I'll be a good sport and acknowledge that you're stronger than me Vemillion. I respect your perseverance, but in the end, I will still be the victor. Now, heroes, I will let you return Ariel tell me!"

When the dust finally settled, Grimmel was standing there with an extra pair of arms that looked as if they were made of stone. Though two of them were completely black and they didn't appear to move, and his mask now looked as if it was part of his face, it even opened up.

When Grimmel transformed the area, the ground beneath them had actually collapsed Chrono took the opportunity to take himself and Trapster into the floor below them.

"We referenced your power quite a bit when conducting research on Ariel," said Chrono as he stood over Trapster. "So I know a great deal about you Trapster. Fortunately, I was able to isolate you from your friends without resulting to lethal force."

He then stabbed him with his hair again and removed his weapons as well placed his scarf over his eyes. "You will be much more useful to us alive. Deactivating powers, that's an ability that Grimmel finds very appealing."

Trapster was trying to move, but his movements were even more sluggish than before.

"Oh, stop struggling," said Chrono as he removed his mask, revealing himself to be a rather handsome silver-haired man, but his hair resembled the hands of a clock. "It's no use you have the speed of a snail right now. Give up I struck you with the shorthand, you won't move normally for another hour."

Trapster knew about Chrono and his power, his hair resembled the hands of a clock and a single strand from his hair would slow anyone's movements to a crawl.

"There's no stopping him when he set his mind on something," said Chrono and he could hear the commotion above them. "I don't know how much you been able to find out, but Ariel is the mafia boss' granddaughter. If it brings Grimmel closer to achieving his goal nothing is off-limits. He will use anything at anyone, that is the kind of man he is."

Hiccup was utterly horrified at Grimmel, especially what he did to his underling.

'He destroyed himself and his underling and then fused them together?' Hiccup stared.

"That was unpleasant but necessary, and I feel much better now," said Grimmel.

Hiccup began to take in his surroundings. 'Okay, Nighteye is over there protecting Ariel and Marcario. There's no sign of Mr Eret or the guy in the white hood. Then there's Grimmel, who merged with that other guy and seemed to have healed himself in the process.'

"Cleanliness is an obsession of mine," said Grimmel. "When someone contaminates me with their filth, I lose control. It's never gone quite this far before though. What an unfortunate turn for you Vemillion, you chose to get involved with Ariel, with me and now your power is lost forever."

Nighteye's eyes widened. 'He lost his power?'

Hiccup was horrified. 'It's gone forever?'

"If only you backed down sooner, you could have held onto your pathetic dreams," said Grimmel as he opened the bullet case which still contained four of the bullets. "But instead you fought, refusing to give up even after your power was gone and now thanks to your heroics your friends will die along with you!"

Grimmel then began charging towards Nighteye, slamming his hands into the ground and fired a massive amount of degree towards them.

'He can use his power with someone else's hands?' said Vemillion.

Hiccup then quickly jumped into action and activated his holo sword and thrusted it towards Grimmel. Grimmel quickly raised his hand in order to block it and was able to prevent himself from getting pierced thanks to his hardened skin.

Hiccup quickly pulled back, and Grimmel then turned his attention towards him. Rock began to spin around them and then suddenly transformed into a cluster of rocks spikes that shot towards Hiccup. Hiccup quickly activated his shield, protecting himself, just in the nick of time.

'I can't read his movements,' said Hiccup. 'My shield was able to protect me; his vitals are completely off the charts.'

"Power and speed, that's all you've got," said Grimmel looking at him.

Then suddenly something struck him on his left arm, and it turned out to be one of Nighteye's stamps.

"Stand down, Night Fury!" Nighteye yelled as he moved in. "I'll deal with him!"

"Will you now?" said Grimmel, not looking too concerned.

'Limit his moves and get in close don't let him transform the ground,' said Nighteye as he tossed two more stamps forcing Grimmel to avoid them. "You look after Vemillion and Ariel!"

"Understood, sir!" Hiccup yelled and immediately made his way towards them.

"What happened to Trapster?" said Nighteye as he tossed more stamps. "Did your lackey take him somewhere?"

Grimmel avoided the stamps. "I'm interested in heroes who can erase powers. So, he's been shown in the VIP room."

"You destroy other people's metapowers so cavalierly, but when the tables are turned, it frightens you." Grimmel then immediately disintegrated his damaged arm which had been injured by the stamps. " If Vemillion's power is lost forever, does that mean you perfected the bullet and used one on him?" Grimmel then began to reform his arm, allowing him to use it again. "You deployed your prized weapon instead of sneaking off to safety. Were you that frighted of my protégé?"

Grimmel then swung both of his left arm that Nighteye, but he managed to jump into the air, second and went through the gap between the two arms. He was able to do this because he was using his foresight to see roughly 1 second into the future, giving him just enough time to avoid Grimmel's attacks.

He then began to think back when he was teaching Marcario about how to battle against villains.

"When you fight, what your opponent," he instructed. "Predictors next move."

"But Sir, my power isn't like yours, I can't just predict what someone is going to do in the future," said Marcario.

Nighteye smiled. "Thank you for that amusing answer, but you can still store up your experiences with new situations. Rescue… Combat… Hardship and suffering, those will become your database."

"I think I understand, sir."

Back in the present, Nighteye was still battling against Grimmel using his foresight to give him the edge.

'Marcario, you believed in me,' said Nighteye as he dodged another one of Grimmel's attacks. 'You believed in my teaching and used it to become strong. I'm proud of you.' He then jumped into the air, avoiding Grimmel once again. 'If only I could see it, your success and the safety of those you fight to protect.'

His thoughts then turned to the day when he looked into Stoick's future and saw his death. Valka the net a few years later, when he stopped looking so far into the future.

"Why do you fear it?" Valka asked as he poured herself a cup of tea. "Seeing things further into the future?"

"Because when I see cannot be changed, I tested many times," said Nighteye regretfully. "Even if my actions are different then in the future I saw, the timeline always rewrite itself as if the account of being balanced somehow. The future never diverges from what I've seen. What if by using my powers on a person what if I'm dictating to cause that their life will take. I can't help but think, if I hadn't used it on Skullcrusher is there even a chance that his future might turn out differently? Is he going to die because of me?"

Valka just sat there staring at her cup of tea. "You're thinking too much."

"Perhaps, but even so I won't do it. I will never review someone else's distant future again."

Nighteye continued to use his abilities in order to see Grimmel's next attack, and he successfully dodged each and every one.

'I don't have to look far, just repeated one-second glances,' he said as Grimmel charged towards him with all four hands. 'I'll use those to guide me to the future that Marcario thought for.'

Then suddenly his eyes widened in horror.

Hiccup was currently with Vemillion and Ariel.

"Vemillion… Ariel, how badly are you injured?" Hiccup asked. "Do you think you can walk?"

"Yeah, no problem," Vemillion panted. "I'm fine, but I failed. Your sound again, and it's my fault."

Hiccup could tell that he was utterly exhausted; it was a miracle that he hadn't collapsed from exhaustion. His immediate concern was Ariel, she looked utterly terrified in only imagine what kind of trauma Grimmel had experienced her to.

"Come on, let's go," said Hiccup.

He then quickly smashed through the wall behind them. "I'm pretty sure this will lead us back. We need to get away from Grimmel."

Ariel then saw the blood on her hands and realised it came from Vemillion, he got her because of her.

"No. That's enough." She remembered what Grimmel had said about her being a curse, and she burst into tears. "I'm so sorry."

Hiccup was about to say something when his eyes widened when they fell upon Nighteye.

Vemillion followed his gaze. "Sir?"

Both he and Hiccup were both horrified with what they were witnessing. Grimmel just unleashed two stone spikes, one tall right through Nighteye's left arm and the other pierced his stomach.

"No!" Vemillion cried.

Nighteye had been careless during the battle when he witnessed something that scared him. 'Let me see it. A future where the boys escape and take Ariel to safety.' He began looking further into the future. "Let me see it!"

However, what he saw terrified him.

Hiccup then immediately charged in knowing that he was the last line of defence. Grimmel saw him come in and immediately created several stone spikes aiming towards him. Hiccup, however, slammed his foot on the ground causing it to break apart, creating a stone shield to protect them from the spikes.

Grimmel was taken aback by his strength. 'He seems much more powerful now. Was the only fighting at half strength before?'

Hiccup looked back at Vemillion. "Take her! Get Ariel to safety!"

Vemillion nodded.

'Hiccup, you have succeeded past your personal limit, you can only maintain this kind of power for a short while,' said Toothless.

"I know, bud," said Hiccup. "My bones are screaming at me, but I can still move. I can maintain 20% of my powerful short period of time."

"Give up," said Grimmel. "I already told you how this ends. You're all going to die."

"You're wrong, I won't let that happen!" Hiccup yelled defiantly. "Even if it's already been decided, even if it's set in stone, I'll smash that future!"

"You little brat!" Grimmel growled and created more stone spikes.

Hiccup quickly throughout both his holo sword and began slicing through the spikes and managed to avoid the others thanks to his jet boosters.

'I'm getting better and anticipating his attacks, but I will be able to dodge forever,' he said. Grimmel was now creating a stone pillar beneath, and he began to rise upwards he then jumped down towards him. 'Grimmel is not going to give up. He'll die before giving Ariel up.'

He then quickly activated his jet and avoided Grimmel. 'I have to do this quickly. If I injure him he'll just prepare himself I need to take him out with one blow right on the head.'

He then flew up towards the ceiling and then put everything into the thrusters and activated his holo shield. His plan was simple; he was going to use gravity, his thrusters and his body weight into a single attack hoping to knock him out. Seconds later he hit something hard, but when the dust settled, he found that Grimmel had leaned to the side, resulting him hitting his right arms.

'He dodged,' Hiccup cursed.

"You may be fast, but compared to the last two, the lines of your movements are painfully easy to predict!" Grimmel roared and created more stone spikes.

Hiccup was too close to avoid them, and he got skewered.

Vemillion was using the wall were supported; he guided Ariel down the corridor, but his injuries were just too much for him.

'I need to get her away from here to someplace safe,' he winced. 'No problem, I can keep going.' However, the thought of Nighteye kept on entering into his mind. 'Move! Move Vemillion!'

He then fell to his knees and nearly collapsed to the ground. Everything about him was starting to get fuzzy as he used every fibre of his being to remain conscious.

'Get up! Get back up!' he yelled himself. 'Got to move!'

However, he knew that his injuries were to match for him.

"Go, Ariel. Find somewhere to hide, wait for help. Dozens of people are doing everything they can to save you. Just hide, it's all good you're going to be fine. Okay? Just go."

Ariel just stood there.

Grimmel was fixing his right arms. "Being able to put myself back together again doesn't make breaking apart any less painful."

Hiccup was still alive, though to have the stones spikes had managed to pierce his armour over his right arm and left leg. At just the last-second the ground beneath a collapsed, no doubt due to his previous attack, so he was able to avoid a fatal blow.

'The ground hadn't broken into pieces he would have skewered me with a massive spike,' Hiccup winced.

"You're done kid," said Grimmel.

"No way, it's not over," said Hiccup.

"Just like your friend. He didn't know when to give up either, though there's something to be said to someone who refuses to meet defeat."

He then raised his lower right arm and then suddenly a mouth appeared on the palm. "Somebody else's about to die because of you! Is that what really what you want, Ariel?"

Hiccup was completely stunned, he didn't realise that Grimmel would be able to use Confessions power as well as his own.

Ariel had heard the voice and began to remember when Grimmel and Chrono experimented on her. She was strapped to an operation chair when they began taking samples of her blood and skin.

"She's at her limit, she used up all her strength," said Chrono.

"Fine then, I suppose it about time for recess," said Grimmel as he took off his gloves. "Let's go back to square one."

Grimmel then began to use his powers to heal her, but that didn't stop from feeling the pain and trauma of the experiment.

She then ran off, against Vemillion's wishes, and made her way back onto the battlefield.

"No, wait," said Ariel. Hiccup turned and saw her. "It's not… I don't want this."

"Go back!" Hiccup yelled. "You need to stay with Vemillion Ariel!"

"Ariel," said Grimmel using Confessions power. "Look at him, injured and alone. You don't really think he can defeat me, do you?"

"No, I don't," she said.

"Smart girl, so what do you suppose you should do?"

"I'll come back."

Hiccup watched horrified as she slowly began to make her way towards Grimmel. 'Ariel.'

"But if I do, I want you to make them all better again!"

"Ah, yes," said Grimmel lowering his hand. "It's so much easier being hurt yourself and watch while others are hurt for you, isn't it?" His eyes then turned towards Hiccup. "The faint flicker of hope Vemillion gave her has been extinguished. Don't you see, you think you're helping her, but you're really just been cruel. She… doesn't… want you."

'Hiccup, it's no use you can't save Ariel,' said Nighteye. 'I've seen it, I've seen your future you and I will die, and Grimmel gets away.'

"Maybe what he said is true," said Hiccup and remove the stone spikes on his leg. "Maybe you think you don't want my help, but I won't let you down, Ariel! I'm not letting anyone die I'm going to save you!"

He then crushed the stones spike within his hands.

Ariel just stared at had no idea what to say.

Then suddenly the ceiling caved in above them in the shockwaves sent Grimmel flying. When Hiccup looked up he saw crashing through the ceiling were Scarlett, Valkyrie and Windshear with the large villain they had been battling when the raid first began.
