Resting Her Head on His Chest

Summary: Lily and James are dating. Lily puts her head on James chest. What does that really mean? Four hundred word drabble.

(James' POV)

James sat on the grass, leaning up against the tree by the lake. The stars were out and they were beautiful. Almost as beautiful as the red head sitting next to him. Lily and James had recently started dating. James had shrunk his head a bit and Lily had agreed to go out with him.

James stared at Lily as she looked around the lake. "What are you thinking?" he asked.

She looked at him and smiled. "I'm wondering how many cups of sugar it takes to get to the moon." James looked at her with a questioning look and then laughed.

"I think the answer is five-hundred seventy-seven."

"No," Lily answered thoughtfully, "I think it's closer to three and a half."

"Oh," James said with a shrug. "I was close." Lily laughed as James kissed her on the forehead.

Lily looked around the lake and then turned back to James and rested her head on his chest. James wasn't exactly expecting that—it was a bit out of the blue—but he wasn't going to complain. He wrapped an arm around her and she snuggled closer to him.

"Are you cold?" James murmured into her hair.

"No," she answered, "I'm perfect."

(Lily's POV)

Lily looked around the lake as she sat next to James. Her eyes widened as her ex-boyfriend Alex walked out of the castle. She turned to James and hid her face in his shirt. It was dark, so hopefully Alex wouldn't notice her red hair. She felt James wrap and arm around her and she turned her head to try and hide her face some more.

"Are you cold?" She heard James say.

"No," Lily answered. She was going to sit up straight again to see if Alex was gone but realized that she didn't want to. James was so warm and she was comfortable. "I'm perfect."

A/n I know, so very short. I saw this thing that said "When a girl rests her head on your chest… she's really hiding from her ex." I thought it was funny and wanted to write a fanfic about it. Tell me what you think.
