WHAT'S UP MUCKACHUNGAS!? It's Travez here and I'm going to be honest with you guys… After taking a look into the new Haemocraft Subclasses of Matt Mercer's world of Exandria, I have come to realize that I could honestly fo a whole lot better with this story than what I had given you guys as I have. So I have come to a decision, this story is going to be redone, in a way that better fits the primary conflict of thus part of the story: "The Blood War".
So I will be restarting this entire story with a lot of updates thrown into the mix! The First Major update I'm going to be making are changing the Subclass for Victoria and the Class/Subclass for Vladi! I'm going to change Victoria from a War Magic Wizard to a Blood Magic Wizard, and for Vladi, I intend to change him from a Swarmkeeper Ranger to a Blood Domain Cleric! The main reason why I am doing this is due to the recent success of the story "Begun by Blood, by Blood Undone" where I had turned Jon Snow into a Blood Mage, and it was a hit within the first 48 Hours. So this really gave me some major inspiration to make these changes.
I also can't deny the head-Canon that I developed that states that Blood Magic taught to humans by the Raven Queen to punish the traitorous Vampire Lords for their treachery and for joining Orcus. As for the Vampires, I had developed some headcanon recently with the help of a friend named SailorSunPhoenix, in which, when discussing a character concept she created, I introduced her to the Vampires of the Planeshift Realm of Ixalan, and we created it that the Vampires of Ixalan were created via a blessing given to them by the Raven Queen, a form of Vampirism designed to counter Orcus's that merely extends the life of those who have been blessed with her brand of Vampirism via draining the blood of their enemies or willing allies. This is the same headcanon that I'm employing to Kain, Rahab, and her brother's, in which their Vampirism originally came from the Raven Queen, but Rahab's brothers, angry at being snubbed by their nephew and jealous of their father's blatant favoritism for his grandson, betrayed the Raven Queen and joined Orcus. This will be the crux of the entire Blood War, and every Vampire that Vlad creates from the start of the reboot, will be Ixalan Vampires, or Trueborn Vampires, whilst the ones created by Orcus will be Purebloods.
As for how Blood Magic is an effective weapon against Vampires? Well that is where the Raven Queen once again comes in. You see, in Critical Role, she is a Goddess of the Life, Death, Grave, and Twilight Domains, but also the Blood Domain. Most importantly, in both CR and D&D Canon, she hates the Undead, and Vampires among my Top 3 Undead Monsters, along with Mummies and Liches. Not only that, Blood is the "Currency of the Soul, the Vehicle of Life" and as such the Undead would crave it. However by utilizing Blood Magic, or Haemocraft, the Blood becomes useless and dangerous to the undead, as the user imbues their magic with traces of the Shadowfell's magic, which is the Purgatory and Gateway to the Afterlife of Dungeons and Dragons, and thus by imbuing Blood with some of the energies of the Afterlife, the Undead are in real danger of their "immortality" being cut short.
Anyway, that is how I view Blood Magic to be a serious danger to Vampires, it basically weakens their natural abilities by slowly dragging them into the Afterlife. Plus who would think of turning a Vampire's food into a weapon? There are also other changes that I need to make for this story before I remake it, specifically the idea of adding Rhaegar, Lyanna, and Cersei into the party, I'm going to need to change their races to match their family sigil. The reason for this? Well this story will not be taking place on Planetos.
The Second Biggest Change I'm making to the story is that I'm taking this story out of Planetos and placing it in it's More magically inclined twin of Mundos. I have been yelled at several times for naming the world of Game of Thrones/A Song of Ice and Fire Mundos, and many people demand me to name it Planetos, so I decided to see if any of the Material Realms of D&D could give me some inspiration, and that is when I learned of Abeir-Toril, a single world split into two parallel worlds to each other, one ruled by the Gods, and one ruled by the Primordials. This inspired me to do something similar, in which Planetos is ruled by the Seven and the other gods I consider evil, like the Drowned God, the Great Other, the Black Goat, the Lion of Night, ect ect. Mundo will be ruled by the Good Gods, who left Planetos behind after the Doom of Valyria, where they cut off their blessing of Magic onto the world. In Mundos, magic is still present, but it's a talent one must be born with, and how one pursues to harness their magic is dictated by whom they train under. In this world, there are Old Gods who chose to "Reveal" themselves to Mortals whilst the remainder keep their names and faces hidden.
It's a neat system I came up with that works well, especially since my version of the Seven includes the Raven Queen as the Old Gods Counterpart to the Seven's Stranger. In anycase, I have a ton of reasons as to why I want to redo this story just with better characters, a more magically inclined world, and, most importantly, more fleshed out vampires for this story. So I hope you guys will like the changes I make to the story once I have everything set up! I'm sorry for stopping this story right when we get to the Blood War, but if you guys don't want to read the reboot, i can understand, but if you're willing to bear with me, I'd be more than happy to show you guys how better the story can be! Anyway that's enough out of me, so please be sure to stay tuned for "Draculya: Blood From Stone" , the reboot of this series coming out soon! Catch ya on the flipside! NAT 20!
