Okay this story is kind of a fusion between mass effect, Halo, and Game of throne. This takes place in the mass effect universe with halo tech with the political minefield of game of thrones if that sounds good keep reading and enjoy.

Based on StarSerpent's Invicta Series It's been 13 years since the end of the Great War. The brewing cold war between the Human-Turian Alliance and the Citadel reaches a precipice. Enter Eden Prime, an insignificant colony made significant by the discovery of an intact Prothean Beacon. While the two great powers rush to cooperate, an ancient threat emerges from the shadows.

After the destruction of Requiem and an attack against Earth, both the UNSC and Covenant Separatist form the Systems Alliance. Then a discovery in the Deca-5 system changes everything for all sides. Cold War like conflict, lots of ONI , AU for Mass Effect and a council that actually thinks before it acts.

Last time the UNSC discovered a mysterious alien artifact, the Halos came within seconds of activating. Every problem the UNSC has had in the last 50 years has been because of aliens and their blasted artifacts. So when a newly-surveyed system holds a mysterious artifact, there is great cause for worry. Operation RED COBRA is intended to remedy that worry- by any means necessary.

A changed humanity went into hibernation, having fallen prey to its own nature. Mountains formed, solar systems collapsed, and history went on without them. However, that story has not finished yet.
